ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! MY ORIGINAL INTAKE INFORMATION: Hi Everyone! My name is Bessy, and I just arrived at CSAC. I was rescued from a puppy mill. I have spent my life in a barn, a shed or a cage. The CSAC volunteer said that I am very sweet and just loved all the attention I was receiving. I went from person to person to get love and pets. The best home for me has people who have dog experience who can help with my training and acclimating to the outside world. The people in my new home should be able to teach me the skills I need to be a great pet: walking on a lead, house training, and socializing. Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Vets that work with CSAC. They are checking me out and making sure I am healthy. Hopefully, I will find my new family that will help me to understand that I am a cherished family pet, not just an animal to be used to make money. For more information about this dog, email our Adoption Coordinator. Our adoption process starts with an application. If you are interested in adopting this pup, please click the Adopt menu at the top of the screen, read about our process, and click the application link. The medical and custodial care of the many Cockers in our care is tremendous. More and more dogs are abandoned with urgent and serious medical issues. We are committed to providing the best possible care for these forgotten friends. Unfortunately, the mounting high costs are beginning to limit the number of dogs we are able to take into our program. Even if you cannot adopt or foster one of our current adoptable dogs, please consider making a donation. The Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization, and your donations are entirely tax deductible. Click the Donate menu at the top of the screen. Please visit our website - www.cockeradoptions.org   There, you will find the current status of the dog, the links to our adoption and foster applications, and detailed information about our adopting and fostering procedures.   MY ORIGINAL INTAKE INFORMATION: Hi Everyone! My name is Blue, and I just arrived at CSAC from a shelter. The best home for me has people who have dog experience. I need a calm home with a fenced yard so I can run and play. I like riding in a car, but I am not fond of meeting other dogs when on a leash. I get scared and over react. I am not good at meeting strangers so I need an owner who can make the best decisions for me when people come to visit. Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Vets that work with the CSAC. They are checking me out and making sure I am healthy. Story
Meet Diesel 🔥🐾 4 years old · Cocker Spaniel/Basset Hound mix · 55 lbs · Neutered Male Powered by zoomies, treats, and pure joy Diesel arrived at the shelter on December 23 after a house fire displaced his previous owner. He came in with his canine companion Dolly through no fault of his own and now finds himself looking for a second home. Diesel is a four year old spaniel and hound mix weighing about fifty five pounds. True to his name, Diesel has an engine that starts slow and runs strong. He can be a bit cautious at first and does best with calm, patient introductions where he is allowed to approach on his own terms. Once he warms up, his personality comes to life in the best way. Diesel is goofy, affectionate, and full of enthusiasm. In the yard, he loves to run with a ball or stick in his mouth and will happily invite you to chase him if you can keep up. He has impressive speed and zoomies that are guaranteed to make you laugh. When playtime winds down, Diesel is just as content staying close to his people, enjoying treats and leaning in for his absolute favorite thing, butt scratches. On leash, Diesel is still learning the ropes but with consistency, positive reinforcement, and patience, he continues to make progress and is eager to learn. Diesel has previously lived with another dog and has shown positive social behavior around other dogs. A meet and greet is required if there is another dog in the home. Diesel is not good with cats and would do best in a cat free home. Diesel’s Case File Highlights ✔️ 4 years old, Cocker Spaniel/Basset Hound mix, 55 lbs, Neutered Male ✔️ Neutered and healthy ✔️ Sweet, goofy, and affectionate ✔️ Moderate to high energy with a fun zoomie side ✔️ Enjoys toys, treats, and interactive play ✔️ Working on leash skills ✔️ Previously lived with another dog and has shown positive signs towards other dogs ✨ Not compatible with cats Diesel is still adjusting to shelter life, but his heart is wide open and ready for a home that understands excitement, patience, and laughter go hand in hand. If you are looking for a dog who will keep you smiling, moving, and feeling loved, Diesel might just be the fuel your life is missing. 📍 Come meet Diesel at the Caroline County Humane Society 407 W.
