If you are interested in adopting or fostering this dog. Please visit our website - www.cockeradoptions.org   There, you will find the current status of the dog, the links to our adoption and foster applications, and detailed information about our adopting and fostering procedures.   MY ORIGINAL INTAKE INFORMATION: Hi Everyone! My name is Ella, and I just arrived at CSAC. I was rescued from a puppy mill. I am a little timid because I have not been around a lot of people or lived in a home as a pet. I have spent my life in a barn, a shed or a cage. The best home for me has people who have dog experience who can help with my training and acclimating to the outside world. The people in my new home should be able to teach me the skills I need to be a great pet: walking on a lead, house training, and socializing. I will need time to trust people who want what is best for me and are not going to hurt me. That is something I have not experienced so far in my life. Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Vets that work with CSAC. They are checking me out and making sure I am healthy. Hopefully, I will find my new family that will help me to understand that I am a cherished family pet, not just an animal to be used to make money. For more information about this dog, email our Adoption Coordinator. Our adoption process starts with an application. If you are interested in adopting this pup, please click the Adopt menu at the top of the screen, read about our process, and click the application link. The medical and custodial care of the many Cockers in our care is tremendous. More and more dogs are abandoned with urgent and serious medical issues. We are committed to providing the best possible care for these forgotten friends. Unfortunately, the mounting high costs are beginning to limit the number of dogs we are able to take into our program. Even if you cannot adopt or foster one of our current adoptable dogs, please consider making a donation. The Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization, and your donations are entirely tax deductible. Click the Donate menu at the top of the screen. My name is Blue, and I just arrived at CSAC from a shelter. The best home for me has people who have dog experience. I need a calm home with a fenced yard so I can run and play. I like riding in a car, but I am not fond of meeting other dogs when on a leash. I get scared and over react. I am not good at meeting strangers so I need an owner who can make the best decisions for me when people come to visit. My owner was moving and could not take me with her so she asked CSAC to help find me a new home. I am a special needs dog. I will walk and run in circles. The best guess is that I was born this way. If I am really focusing on something, I can walk in a straight line. When I am anxious or excited, I will circle. I have glaucoma. My right eye had to be removed, and I get drops in my left eye. I am house trained and crate trained. I have lived with cats but not other dogs. I love to play with toys, swim and explore. I should be in a home with a fenced in yard because I could trip up people with a leash. Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Vets that work with the CSAC. They are checking me out and making sure I am healthy. Hopefully, I will find my new family that will turn me into a happy, cherished family pet again. Hope to see you soon. Story
Melo entered our family 5 months ago when his former owner informed that she could no longer care for him after 3 years. His former owner was elderly and could not take him on walks as often. He is a very sweet dog that is eager to follow you around, sniff out new smells, and play with his chew toys. He struggles with being home alone as he prefers to be with his owner. He loves chasing birds, barking at the alley cats, and people watching in the window.

Story
Miley came to us after being in a not so great situation with a family member. We have loved her but have 2 large dogs that are not used to other dogs and have not been friendly at all despite us trying various measures. She is lovely with our 4 kids (we have a toddler who loves her). She does get sad when left alone again from being alone for a long time. All we look for is someone to take her & love her. She is such a sweetheart and just wants to cuddle. She grew up around cats & believes she is as agile as them. Her birthday is in Oct 2024. If I could describe Miley it would be agile, a cuddle monster, and loving.
