If you are interested in adopting or fostering this dog. Please visit our website - www.cockeradoptions.org   There, you will find the current status of the dog, the links to our adoption and foster applications, and detailed information about our adopting and fostering procedures.   MY ORIGINAL INTAKE INFORMATION: Hello, my name is Leo. My owner started have an allergic reaction to me so she asked CSAC to help find me a new home. The best home for me has people who have puppy experience who can help continue my training. I am sweet, very playful. I enjoy cuddling, playing with toys and being around people. I am house trained and crate trained. I even know some commands like sit, stay and outside. I do have a limp when I walk. I broke my back leg and it did not heal correctly. Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Vets that work with the CSAC. They are checking me out and making sure I am healthy. Hopefully, I will find my new family that will turn me into a happy, cherished family pet again. Hope to see you soon. For more information about this dog, email our Adoption Coordinator. Our adoption process starts with an application. If you are interested in adopting this pup, please click the Adopt menu at the top of the screen, read about our process, and click the application link. The medical and custodial care of the many Cockers in our care is tremendous. More and more dogs are abandoned with urgent and serious medical issues. We are committed to providing the best possible care for these forgotten friends. Unfortunately, the mounting high costs are beginning to limit the number of dogs we are able to take into our program. Even if you cannot adopt or foster one of our current adoptable dogs, please consider making a donation. The Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization, and your donations are entirely tax deductible. Click the Donate menu at the top of the screen. My name is Ezekiel, and I just arrived at CSAC from a shelter. I was found stray. The CSAC volunteer said that I was sweet and friendly. I need a special home to take care of me for rest of my senior years. I do have a grade 3 of 4 heart murmur and a minor luxating patella. I need a new home that can take care of medical needs and take me on slow gentle walks. Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Vets that work with the CSAC. They are checking me out and making sure I am healthy. Hopefully, I will find my new family that will turn me into a happy, cherished pet. Story
Meet Mr. Chip! Chip looks like he was gently electrocuted by a cartoon science experiment and somehow ended up even more adorable. Chip is sweet, easygoing, friendly, and about as low-maintenance as they come. He’s the kind of dog who settles seamlessly into the rhythm of a home and seems genuinely grateful for every soft bed, snack, sunny spot, and head rub that comes his way. When he’s not curled up napping somewhere cozy, he enjoys short little romps in the yard, lounging on the deck in the sunshine, and making sure he’s present for every meal and snack opportunity available to him. Chip is wonderfully unbothered by life. He gets along well with other dogs, rides nicely in the car, walks well on leash, sleeps through the night, and doesn’t seem particularly interested in causing problems for anyone. We also haven’t found much that upsets him, which feels like a rare and admirable quality these days. Chip’s fur has a remarkable ability to defy gravity, alternating between “tiny retired rockstar” and “stuck his paw in an outlet,” largely because he strongly prefers that nobody fuss too much with grooming around his face. Honestly, we respect the boundary. Chip is blind in his right eye and has dry eye that requires ointment twice daily. He needs a helping hand navigating stairs, particularly going up. He also wears a belly band, though he does go to the bathroom outside when taken out regularly. Chip would do best in a calm home without young children, ideally with people who are around often, love to snuggle, and are happy to embrace a slower pace of life. A fenced yard for his little outdoor strolls and sunbathing sessions is a must in his book. Chip is one of those dogs who sneaks up on you. One minute he’s just a funny-looking little senior with questionable hair decisions, and the next minute you’re completely obsessed with him and making sure he has the fluffiest bed in the house. He's such an easy dog who just wants comfort, consistency, and people who adore him. Chip is approximately 13 years old and 8 lbs. Fostered in Woodbridge, VA Please apply at MirisHaven.org
