Meet Doctor Knox! And yes, he is every bit as handsome as his name suggests. This gorgeous blonde Cocker Spaniel has soft, wavy hair, a happy little wiggle, and a personality that lets you know he's arrived. He'll be turning 4 years old in November and weighs a healthy, trim 33 pounds. He's a wonderful age, past the puppy craziness but still young enough to enjoy plenty of playtime, walks, toys, and adventures with his people.Doctor Knox also comes with his own built-in home security system. He likes to announce when someone new comes around, so there's no need to spend money on a monthly alarm subscription. Just keep his food bowl filled, his toy basket stocked, and remind him how handsome he is. He considers those perfectly reasonable household arrangements!Knox loves his toys, especially his chew toys, and enjoys his morning or evening walks. He is happy to entertain himself with a favorite toy and can often be found stretched out on his dog bed, contentedly passing the time. He's currently enjoying life in a foster home with other dogs and plenty of activity. He has opinions about his canine housemates and isn't a boy who takes much sass from anyone, but he's also learned to settle in and enjoy having company around.His story is a little sad. For nearly four years, Knox was the king of his castle and had a home and person of his own. Unfortunately, his owner eventually decided she no longer had the time to spend with him and surrendered him to rescue. It took him a little while to adjust to the change, but he's found his footing again and is showing everyone what a happy, loving boy he really is.What Knox wants most is a person or family who genuinely enjoys having a dog around. He loves his people and would do best with someone who understands the Cocker Spaniel personality: affectionate, clever, sometimes vocal, occasionally opinionated, and always full of character. He needs a kind, confident leader who will give him consistency, attention, and a place where he can feel secure and loved.If you've ever loved a Cocker Spaniel, you probably already know what makes these dogs so special. Meet Colin Colin is a 5-year-old Cocker Spaniel with a gentle heart and a story of survival. After he was injured while used as a stud dog, his breeder surrendered him to a veterinarian to be euthanized. Thankfully, the vet reached out to us, and we were able to give Colin the lifesaving surgery he needed. Today, Colin is the sweetest boy you could hope to meet. He has been wonderful with our volunteers, soaking up every bit of attention and affection. He is a good boy, through and through, who has come so far and has so much love to give. Colin's injury required a penile amputation and reconstruction of his urinary tract. As a result, he may look and urinate more like a female dog. This is simply how his body works now. He is fully healed, healthy, and not in any pain, and his surgery will not hold him back from living a happy, normal life. Colin is healed and ready for the next chapter. All he needs now is a family to give him the forever home he has been waiting for. He will come neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and 4dx tested. Yes, it’s the same Hershel, and he’s been in our care for quite some time. This special senior boy came to us with a laundry list of medical needs, and after lots of love, TLC, and several surgeries, he’s finally ready to find his forever home!Hershel is a happy, easygoing guy with plenty of spunk and SO much love to give. He LOVES stuffed animals, enjoys playing with toys, and never says no to a good back or butt scratch. He’s a fan of cozy beds, soft blankets, leisurely walks, tasty treats (even if his tummy doesn’t always agree!), and spending time with his favorite people. He’d also enjoy a canine companion, especially a female dog, and doesn’t mind cats.Hershel is deaf and mostly blind, so routine and a calm, predictable environment help him feel safe. He’ll need a fenced yard to explore and potty safely, a home with someone around to help with frequent potty breaks and four small meals a day, and a family who understands that occasional accidents can happen. He’s housebroken, but age and medical needs sometimes have other plans.Hershel has IBS, a thyroid condition, high blood pressure, and an eye that requires daily drops. He takes daily medications but is a very good boy about it! He can manage a few shallow steps but not a full flight due to his limited vision. A home without young children is best, as they can startle him. New people and dogs should be introduced slowly and gently since he can’t see them coming.We know there’s someone out there with room in their heart for a senior gentleman who needs a little extra attention.
