Story
Hi, I’m Ember! I’m a 1.5-year-old, 47 lb, Collie/Cattle Dog mix that is ready for a furever home! I’ve been through a lot in my short life. After raising a litter of puppies, I was diagnosed with a rare malignant cancer. After completing a few rounds of chemo, I came out the other side stronger (and officially TVT-free!). I can be a little shy when I first meet new people, but once I feel safe, I’m all love, I’ll lean into you for scratches, follow you around, and be your most loyal companion. I love playing with other dogs, tossing my toys in the air, and running around chasing anything that moves (bonus points if you have a yard or take me on adventures!). I’m looking for an active home that understands a fun, energetic herding girl like me. I’d love to join you for walks, hikes, runs, or even just some good playtime. I’m house trained, crate trained, and hardly ever bark, too! I’d do best in a home with kids over 12 and no cats, please. If you’re looking for a sweet, playful, slightly goofy best friend who just wants to be loved, I think we might be perfect for each other. Schedule an appointment through AlmostThereRescue.org/adopt/ To meet this pup, schedule an appointment by going to www.adoptapup.as.me and selecting Meet Our Pups! or Meet our Adult Dogs!

Story
Meet Butterscotch This super sweet 6-month-old pup is ready to find her forever home! Butterscotch absolutely loves everyone—dogs, adults, and kids alike. She’s eager to learn, picks up new skills quickly, and would thrive with a family who enjoys staying active. She’s always up for an adventure, whether it’s a walk, hike, or a ride in the car. At home, she’s well-mannered—potty trained with a dog door and settles calmly in her crate. Butterscotch is spayed, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $375, which also includes a one-on-one in-home training session with one of our trainers to help her transition smoothly into her new home. If you’re looking for a loving, smart, and fun companion, Butterscotch might be your perfect match!April 1, 2026, 12:16 pm

Story
Introducing Bruce, this 1 year old Kelpie mix is a lively and friendly boy who’s full of energy! Bruce weighs 40 pounds. He’s up to date on vaccinations, rabies, and is neutered. This playful pup loves to engage in games of fetch and enjoys splashing around in water. Bruce is very friendly towards adults and children, but due to his high energy level, he would do best in a home with no other dogs and children over 10 years old. Bruce is still learning his leash manners but is picking it up very quickly. Bruce is house-trained and loves spending time outdoors. He’s looking for a loving family to share his adventures with! Bruce is not appropriate for an apartment or condo. He does need a securely fenced backyard. Bruce's adoption fee of $350 helps offset the cost of medical expenses. If you live in the Phoenix metro area and think Bruce could be the right fit for you, please complete an adoption application*:    https://helpadogsmile.org/adoption-application .    *Please note that the application is not a commitment to adopt–it is a tool used to help determine if a dog and applicant would make a good match. Applications are forwarded to the foster family for review and follow-up.  March 12, 2026, 10:04 pm

Story
We have had Tater since she was a puppy, she now weights 27 lbs so she is not a big dog. She is energetic and likes to herd our other dogs. We got Tater to help keep our older dogs active. Tater is a good dog but has become more aggressive with one of older dogs. Tater is timid and gets startled with loud noises and thunderstorms. Once she meets someone and knows them she is a very loving . She may do better as the only dog or maybe with one other dog. We are older and have had some health issues and are finding it harder to handle the activities of a younger dog.

Story
Meet Rupert! Rupert was saved from our local animal control right before he was set to be euthanized. Rupert has a great personality and a love for treats. He is kennel and potty trained. He actually LOVES his kennel! He prefers it with a nice kennel pad or a blanket. Rupert has spent the last several weeks living with our trainer. We feel that he would do best as an only dog. He is not dog aggressive, he just doesn't really care if he has dog friends. He is all about his person. He is a velcro dog and prefers to go anywhere you do. So, if you are looking for a snuggle bud that will look at you with his adoring eyes this is your guy! Rupert is neutered, UTD on vaccines, microchipped, and 4DX (tick/heartworm test) negative. Rupert is approximately 1 years old and weighs 25 pounds. To meet Rupert, please fill out the application https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/PAWP/Dog
