Story
Meet Scout! Scout is a 5 year old 70 pound male with beautiful leash, house and people manners! He loves his people and seems to think that he is a giant lap dog. Scout has lived with a family for the last five years that loved him dearly but just could not keep him.  Scout is good with children and has been well trained. He is a soft soul and is fully housetrained. He is in group play in day care and occasionally needs to be reminded that he is not in charge of all of his friends:); therefore, Scout would do best as an only dog. He listens very well to reminders and is quick to respond to his human directors:) To ensure his safety, a secure, fenced-in yard is required.  Adoption Requirements: Scouts adoption fee is $350. If you live in the Phoenix metro area and think he could be the right fit for you, please complete an adoption application*: Scout is neutered, up to date on shots and microchipped.  If you are interested in making Scout a permanent member of your family, please fill out our online   Application*   https://helpadogsmile.org/adoption-application   .       *Please note that the application is not a commitment to adopt–it is a tool used to help determine if a dog and applicant would make a good match. Applications are forwarded to the foster family for review and follow-up.    April 16, 2025, 7:44 am

Story
***Courtesy Post*** Meet Bailey, the energetic, affectionate rescue mutt—she is likely part Australian Shepherd and part cattle dog. She is fixed, fully vaccinated, weighs about 45 lbs., and is estimated to be between 2 and 4 years old.   Bailey is very generous with her kisses and loves getting attention from her humans. She gets along very well with women and children but requires more time to feel comfortable around new men in her life. When she isn’t getting showered with love, Bailey spends her free time chewing on her favorite toys and treats. Her other hobbies include chasing her blue squeaky ball around the yard, rolling in the grass, and digging just enough to bury her toys and treats for safe keeping.   Bailey is house broken, responds to her name, and knows how to sit. She responds well to training exercises and would thrive with owners who can dedicate time for additional training. She loves getting dressed up for walks but is still working on her leash skills and would do best at a house with a closed yard where she can run around safely. Bailey requires more practice socializing with other animals and is best suited as an only pet. She gets along with other dogs when calm, but becomes nervous and reactive when they get too excited and try to play.    Bailey has been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Her adoption fee of $300 helps offset the cost of medical expenses. If you live in the Phoenix metro area and think Bailey could be the right fit for you, please complete an adoption application*:    https://helpadogsmile.org/adoption-application .   *Please note that the application is not a commitment to adopt–it is a tool used to help determine if a dog and applicant would make a good match. Story
Meet Thanos! This superhero's mom was found walking down a country highway. She had her babies one week later. We have included a picture of mom so you can see what a beauty she is! She weighs 41 pounds and is very sweet. Thanos currently weighs 5.4 pounds and the smallest of the litter. Thanos is your typical puppy! He is adorable! He loves to play with his siblings and chew on things. Especially things that he shouldn't! But hey, that is what puppies do! Thanos mom was diagnoses with cancer. She had to begin chemo so her puppies have been weaned. Thanos is thriving! Thanos will need your typical puppy stuff. Help with potty training, learning the house rules, and basic manners. His adoption will start as a foster to adopt. Once all medical is done you will be able to make it official. Paw Posse Animal Rescue covers all basic needs and medical. You will need to take Thanos to all of his vet appointments. Don't worry, if you need help we are here. If you would like to foster to adopt Thanos or just foster, please fill out our foster application. https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/foster/PAWP/Dog

Story
Meet Ranger! This guy was so scared at our local animal shelter they were going to euthanize him! WHAT! He is now safe with a foster. His foster is great but they work a lot. Ranger is spending more time than we would like in his kennel. Anyone that has a heeler knows they need exercise! Ranger's biggest issue is he isn't to keen on the leash. It will take a little bit of work but once he masters the leash there will be no stopping him! He has a big personality that is waiting to come out. He needs a little work on his manners, but who doesn't! Do you have some time and patience? Are you ready to show this dog what living is? Are you ready to change this dogs life? Ranger is waiting for that special person to help him shine like a diamond! You are singing that song now aren't you?? HA! You will be so happy you adopted this guy! He really is a sweetheart and he LOVES other dogs! Ranger is neutered, UTD on vaccines, and microchipped. Ranger's adoption fee is $350. Ranger is approximately 1 year old and weighs 37 pounds. To meet , please fill out the application https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/PAWP/Dog

This handsome guy is sweet, loves being pet, going for walks, hiking, and playing with other dogs. He is very timid at first since he has been abused. Looking for a patient family that will give him time to warm up and learn to trust. Good with dogs large and small. Likes lounging on the couch and wading in his pool when not busy playing. Needs a good 6 foot fence, as he will run away if scared. Give this guy a chance and call his foster mom to set up a meeting. 601-479-2601

Story
**This is a courtesy listing for Frosted Faces, Vintage Paws Animal Rescue** Meet Maggie, AKA Maggie-Moo to her (many) friends! Maggie is a BIG, beautiful, senior Cattle Dog; she is approximately eight-years-old and weighs over 80 pounds. Maggie came to the shelter system when her former family developed severe health issues and were no longer able to care for her, or the other dogs in the home. The family was going to euthanize Maggie and her little buddy, Chico, because they had nowhere for them to go. Maggie was severely overweight at intake, weighing 84.6 pounds. We are happy to say that she has already lost four-and-a-half-pounds in the time she's been at rescue! Maggie actually enjoys being active and walks perfect on leash, making her weight-loss goals super obtainable. She enjoys trotting around the yard and will chase the ball or toy and bring it back. From there, she enjoys sitting and chewing on her toy, or trotting around with it in her mouth to show you how CUTE she is! Maggie is a happy-go-lucky and social dog who gets along with everyone she meets. She loves people and is happiest when she can be a part of the family, just hanging out wherever you are. Maggie also does great with other dogs, both big and small. We have introduced her to a variety of different dog personalities and she is very social and tolerant with everyone she has met so far. Maggie is currently in a temporary foster home and they report that Maggie goes to the door when she needs to potty, "is just the chillest girl," and "is so sweet and just wants to be included in everything". Maggie is looking for a family who is committed to her weight-loss goals so that she can live her longest, healthiest life! We are open to a foster or foster-to-adopt family for Maggie! Maggie-Moo is full of love and has SO much to offer a new family. Could that lucky family be YOURS? Maggie is up to date on her vaccinations and previously spayed. Email us at chitownrescue@gmail.com for more information/meet and greet appointment.June 24, 2025, 5:55 pm
