Story
MEET MAISIE!!! Maisie is a sweet and shy girl. She was on and saved from the euthanasia list at County for being fearful. However, it only took her two days to become comfortable with her fosters, and they say her personality continues to emerge more and more each day. Maisie is exceptionally smart. She is trained to sit, shake, sit to be be leashed, sit before meals and waits for a release cue. She is trained to potty on command. She is currently working on crate training. The door is open at all times and treats are tossed in for her to become comfortable entering/exiting the crate. Maisie is an active dog and requires at least twice daily walks or runs. She would make an excellent hiking partner as well. She is not destructive when left alone but can be vocal at times. Maisie will need daily brushing; she sheds like a German Shepard. She has shown some resource guarding when it comes to her space, her people or her treats. She is a submissive female and gets alone well with the other foster dogs.  Maisie has tendencies to escape, so she is still walked in the yard on a leash for now. She is double-leashed for walks because she can be startled/interested by passing cars. She is non-reactive to passing dogs on walks. When she trusts you, she is the sweetest snuggly dog. Adopters should be aware of canine body language and recognize when she is uncomfortable with strangers. Let her approach strangers at her own pace. She is responsive to "low, side greetings." Maisie is a great dog who excel in a calm home where she feels safe and comfortable. Meet Maisie today! Story
We pulled little Jeffery from a high-kill shelter in CA with 44 minutes to spare, after he was found in a storm drain. This was the 3rd time he had ended up in the shelter. This time, his owners didn't want him back. Jeffery is the life of the party! Pony hopping up and down the yard, any chance he gets. He is a wildly intelligent dog. He is a big fan of other dogs, that are gentle with him. His energy is unlike anything we've ever felt. He's a very special boy. Someone described him as a "new soul" and that connected all the pieces, that's exactly what it feels like! He is almost completely deaf and has some vision impairment, more so affecting him at night. Jeffery has a smaller forebrain and cerebellum than most dogs, causing a slight wobble and unsteady gait. He's completely self-sufficient and can move and potty on his own. His disability doesn't get in his way whatsoever! As far as we know, Jeff was born like this. We have been working to implement touch training with him to better communicate and give him the structure and boundaries all dogs strive for! Interested in learning more about Jeffery? He is shy initially, but sweet as can be. Once he warms up to people, he can be very affectionate. River is very treat motivated so that can help with training if needed. We are unsure of his training history, so he may need some help adjusting to a new potty routine. He seems to do well in his area with little-to-no accidents. We are also unsure of his history with kids, cats, or other dogs. To meet this adorable boy, please come to the shelter with everyone that lives in the home including dogs.  **DON'T FALL VICTIM TO FRAUD - Scammers have been responding to comments asking individuals to private message them for more information or post spam sites. Story
Papa is an intelligent, happy, and easy to train one-year-old border collie mix pup. He enjoys long walks, fetch, dog park hangs, and swimming. Papa comes from a loving and caring home where he has been house-broken (he never has any accidents in the house!), kennel-trained, regularly socialized, and neutered. Unfortunately, the circumstances of my life have changed, and I have to find this good boy a new and loving home. Papa is a larger pup, weighing about 60lbs., that would best complement a couple or a family with an ample outdoor space who is active and familiar with dogs- because Papa is a "dog's dog!" - He is happy and very excited with kids. - Knows some commands like "sit," "paw," and "down." - LOVES TOYS! $150 adoption fee. Vaccines are up to date. Papa is also fixed already. Papa is a courtesy post for Valley Dogs Rescue and he is not in our direct care. Story
🌟 Meet Kydden, the bundle of energy with a heart full of love! 🐾 Affectionately known as Kiddin', this gorgeous six-year-old girl is on the lookout for her forever home, and she's got a personality as vibrant as her spirit. Kydden is a people enthusiast, spreading joy to everyone she meets. With her high energy levels, she's searching for an active family to keep up with her zest for life. While she's a love bug, her exuberance might be a bit much for tiny tots, so a home without small children is recommended. This spirited pup marches to the beat of her own drum and prefers to be the solo star in the canine show. Dog reactive but kitty-friendly, Kydden's looking for a forever home where she can shine without sharing the spotlight. Smarty pants alert! Kydden aced her obedience training, although the distractions from other pups didn't earn her valedictorian status. A strong pack leader is just what she needs to help her stay focused and on the right track. Kydden has battled anxiety, but with patience, love, and a dash of training, she's made incredible strides. She's been a trooper in boarding and kennel situations, proving she's ready for a loving home where she can truly flourish. While her stance on swimming is uncertain, she's been known to enjoy a refreshing dip in the doggie pool—a true tropical pup at heart! If you're ready for a lively companion who's equal parts fun and affection, Kydden is your girl. Email ADOPT@VALLEYDOGS.ORG to see if you're the perfect match for this wonderful, energetic sweetheart! 🐶💖

According to the DNA test of his sister Duke is Border Collie and Miniature American Shepherd; meaning hes a great compact size with big potential to be quite competitive in a wide variety of sports. While he would excel in sports he would be just as happy going on adventures and play with his family. He aims to please his human with exuberance and flair but also has a nice off switch where he can snuggle by your side.
