Story
Sunshine has been looking for a home for 278 DAYS!!! Sunshine was found in a storm drain in CA. This was the 3rd time he had ended up in the shelter. This time, his owners didn't want him back and he was going to be euthanized. Sunshine is the life of the party! Pony hopping up and down the yard, any chance he gets. He is a wildly intelligent dog. He is a big fan of other dogs, that are gentle with him. His energy is unlike anything we've ever felt. He's a very special boy. Someone described him as a "new soul" and that connected all the pieces, that's exactly what it feels like! He is almost completely deaf and has some vision impairment, more so affecting him at night. Sunshine has a smaller forebrain and cerebellum than most dogs, causing a slight wobble and unsteady gait. He just looks like he's had a few too many drinks! He's completely self-sufficient and can move and potty on his own. He loves to pickup stuffed animals and toss them around! His disability doesn't get in his way whatsoever! As far as we know, Sunny was born like this. He LOVES napping and being glued on to your lap on the couch. He's the sweetest and quietest boy we've only heard him bark less than 5 times and its the cutest noise you will ever hear. Pics don't do him justice, he's very small and loves to be carried around. Interested in learning more about Sunshine? Fill out an application for him here: https://www.handoverrover.org/adoptionapplication

Story
Cece can be anxious in new situations, so she’s looking for a calm, patient home that understands the value of going slow. She prefers an adults‑and‑teens (13+) household where routines are predictable and people respect her space. Once she settles in, Cece is a wonderfully low‑maintenance girl with very simple wants: a sunny spot to relax, a cozy couch to cuddle on, a walk once or twice a day, and plenty of tasty treats. Cece is potty trained, can be left alone comfortably in or out of a crate, and is highly self‑sufficient. According to her foster carer, she learns rules and boundaries well - seemingly within a month or two -and thrives with gentle structure. Because she does have some specific behavioral needs, all potential adopters will meet with our behaviorist as part of the adoption process to set everyone up for success. If you’re looking for an easygoing companion and appreciate a thoughtful, reserved dog whose best relationships are built slowly, Cece may be the perfect match for you. My adoption fee is $350 and includes the following: -Spay/neuter surgery -All current vaccinations -Microchip -FREE wellness exam through VCA Animal Hospitals -$25 gift voucher from our friends at My Pet Market

Story
Hi, I'm Layla! I've spent many joyful years perfecting the art of making humans smile. I love gentle strolls, cozy naps, and being brushed; seriously, it's my spa day. My heart is big, and I’m always ready to share it. I’ve mastered the art of companionship, knowing just when to offer a comforting nuzzle or a soulful look. I do ask for one thing: I’d like to be your one and only dog. I’m not into canine roommates; I prefer to keep all the love (and brushes) to myself. If you're looking for a wise, affectionate friend who cherishes quiet moments and gives world-class snuggles, I’m your girl. Come meet me and let’s turn your house into a home. I must be the only dog in my new home My adoption fee is $350 and includes the following: -Spay/neuter surgery -All current vaccinations -Microchip -FREE wellness exam through VCA Animal Hospitals -$25 gift voucher from our friends at My Pet Market For more information about me or to schedule a meet and greet appointment, please complete an adoption questionnaire.

Story
Name: Bianca Age: 1 years Sex: Spayed Female Breed: Cattle dog Weight: Approx. 42 pounds Adoption fee: $300 (altered, vaccines up to date, microchipped, vet checked) Location: IN FOSTER, please fill out an adoption application at azsmalldog.org/adoption-form Compatibility with other dogs: Good Compatibility with cats: Good Compatibility with kids: Older kids Energy level: Moderate   Bianca is a gentle soul with a mellow spirit who thrives in the quiet company of her humans. While she may be shy at first and prefers not to be touched until she feels safe, her love for companionship shines through once she's comfortable.  Bianca is fully housebroken and doggy-door trained. Bianca loves her people to talk to her and will joyfully wag to show her expression and appreciation. She gets along well with other dogs, though she appreciates having her own space during mealtime. As for cats, she'll only chase if they run, and even then, it's all in playful fun. One of Biancas quirks is that she gets a bit anxious when left alone for extended periods. That said, she's perfectly content to nap in her cozy pen while her humans are out and about.     WEEKEND ADOPTION EVENT LOCATION: Saturdays 11am to 3pm at Petco at Tatum & Bell Rd       4727 East Bell Road, Phoenix, AZ 85032  *Visit our website or Facebook page for special events schedules, news, and more info!* Website: www.azsmalldog.org     Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/arizonasmalldogrescue/Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 6, 2025, 4:15 pm
