Story
Ziva is a lucky dog! She was absconded in a rural area where she lived out in the open field for a few months. Locals put out food but she would never come close enough for them to grab her and get her to safety. Finally someone reached out to our friends at HOPE FOR PAWS and they went out there and were able to trap her. She appeared to have had puppies recently but they were nowhere to be found. Maybe the dumper kept the puppies and dumped her??? We just don’t know. She’s great with other dogs, cats and people of all ages. She does have a “momma bear” side to her and she will bark to alert you to strangers but she quickly calms down. She is affectionate but not needy, attentive and happy. Last photo is from where she was abandoned. She’s goofy and loving. Total Romantic.

Story
Hi there! My name is Sara Lee and I'm a 3 year old Smooth Collie/Shepherd mix at the Santa Barbara Campus. Sara Lee is the kind of girl who may not rush up to say hello right away — but once you earn her trust, you’ll discover the sweetest, gentlest companion by your side. She’s looking for a patient family that understands that some of the best friendships take a little time to grow. After being surrendered when her family moved and couldn’t take her along, Sara Lee is learning how to navigate big changes and new environments. She can be timid at first, so she’ll thrive with adopters who are willing to let her settle in at her own pace and show her the world isn’t such a scary place after all. Once comfortable, Sara Lee's loving personality starts to shine. She has lived with children and done well, and while her experience with other dogs has been limited, she has had positive interactions with a small dog in the past. She has also played well with other large dogs while here at SBH. She’s a soft-hearted, sensitive girl who would love a calm home where she can build confidence, enjoy quiet companionship, and finally feel safe enough to fully blossom. If you have a gentle heart, a little patience, and room on your couch for a shy sweetheart, Sara Lee may just be your perfect match. Adoptions are open 12pm-4:30pm every day, except Wednesdays, and no appointment is needed. Like all SBH animals, when I am adopted I will have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Adoptions also include a certificate for a complimentary post-adoption veterinary exam from a local clinic and our partners at Hills Science Diet will provide a supply of food for my first few days at home. Need some supplies? Both SB Humane Campuses have retail centers stocked with everything you need, at comparable prices, and your purchase helps support our mission. Hope to see you soon!

Story
RYDER is a 1 year boy, he loves loves people!!! He is a Velcro dog and attaches himself to people :) He’s great with children, but because of his breed we prefer children 10 and older for him. He is good with dogs, good in the dog park, but at home he’s happy to be the only dog. He’s neutered and fully vaccinated. He’s got typical border collie personality, he loves exercise, hikes, walks and water. Once he’s tried out, he loves to hang and cuddle with you.

Story
What can we say about Wally? Well, despite his face, he is 100% not a corgi. We dunno what he is but it’s not that. He’s actually a bigger boy than he looks at first. He’s very sweet, seems to be a medium energy level (but he mighta been lying) and a terrific hugger. He does this adorable tail vibration thing when he gets activated by something that is super unique. He’s a little serious in the shelter, but we can tell his inner goofball is in there somewhere, just waiting for an outlet. He’s really curious, and a big fan of getting brushed actually- we did that for a good while. He’s gonna need humans who can handle his size, help him find his confidence, and take him on adventures so his curiosity can be satisfied. He also appreciates being told how pretty he is and what great ears he has- so that will be a daily (or hourly) requirement for his forever humans. If you think you have the stamina to keep up with that task- head into #burbankanimalshelter and interview with Wally- see if he hires you to be his best friend. Come visit the Burbank Animal Shelter to foster or adopt Wally!

Story
Max is very lovable, to the point of jealousy. He is about 3 1/2; I adopted him from Woods Animal shelter in SanLuisObispo , I was a new home owner to 1/2 an acher small house in Atascadero. My spouse and I had a bad falling out, I left the home & we are pending a difficult divorce , and I brought Max with me two months later to Ventura County. I rented a room from someone who loved Max, then I got an apartment. Max needs a yard-he has been clever and a crate stopped working, he likes being in the patio, but screen door needs to be open. He has over powered me at times when he’s been in the house all day. I love him, but he needs training and I don’t have money for that. I have a dog walker for when I work an 8 hour shift. Anyone who gets him will Love him.
