Story
Ziva is a lucky dog! She was absconded in a rural area where she lived out in the open field for a few months. Locals put out food but she would never come close enough for them to grab her and get her to safety. Finally someone reached out to our friends at HOPE FOR PAWS and they went out there and were able to trap her. She appeared to have had puppies recently but they were nowhere to be found. Maybe the dumper kept the puppies and dumped her??? We just don’t know. She’s great with other dogs, cats and people of all ages. She does have a “momma bear” side to her and she will bark to alert you to strangers but she quickly calms down. She is affectionate but not needy, attentive and happy.

Story
Oliver is a smooth collie mix who was born on January 4, 2018 into a litter of 10. His father was a short-haired merle collie and his mother was a collie-pharaoh hound mix. He was originally adopted at the too young age of 4 weeks and has grown into a gorgeous 90+ pound bundle of energy. At 18 months, he is still very much a puppy.....a BIG puppy....with all of a puppy's affection, playfulness as well as unbridled energy. While Ollie loves to cuddle, play fetch, tug of war and run around with other big dogs, sometimes, he can be somewhat grabby and quite protective. Ollie was neutered at 6 months and is fully house-trained. He is very, very smart and knows basic commands from working with two trainers. Oliver needs a very active and engaging home life. He requires a yard with lots of space so he can run around to burn off his still-puppy energy. He could probably be trained to be a great agility or working farm dog. Oliver absolutely requires a physically and mentally strong person who is willing to devote the necessary time to continue his training. This individual needs to be an exceptionally savvy dog person who is motivated to work with Ollie to make him into a great companion. Because of Oliver's size and energy, he will not be adopted into a household with cats, small dogs or children under the age of 16.

Story
Hello – my name is Parker. I am a healthy, one year old Collie/Shepherd mix. I was rescued from the cold dog park (hence my name) in October 2022 and have been enjoying the good life. I am chipped, I have my own comfortable crate, feeding station and plenty of toys and puzzles. I am full of life and just love to have fun and be silly. My signature move is running as fast as I can from one end of the backyard to the other, rolling around in the dirt on my back- and waiting to hear “good boy Parker”.  I have lots of energy and I would love to be in a home with a leader who will give me lots of exercise and structure.  I am housebroken and I  know how to use the “doggie doors'.  My foster has discovered that I would do best being the 'only' dog in the household.  I have learned several commands and I also walk great on a leash unless I stop to sniff something.  I love to learn because I’m smart and I want to please – I just need a  confident person to show me the way.   Please contact : Rhonda Baldwin 562-708-4944 or (baldwinlocks@gmail.com       These dogs are looking for homes through private parties in the Los Angeles CA area. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Woof woof, hi there! I'm Chuck, the one and only. I might come across as a bit reserved and cautious, but let me tell you, there's a heart of gold beneath this fur. My journey hasn't been the smoothest ride - I've seen the world from the streets, where every rustle in the bushes and every passing shadow was a potential adventure or danger. That's probably why I've developed this keen sense of alertness and rational thinking. Survival mode, they call it.You know, I used to roam the great outdoors all by myself, finding shelter wherever I could, learning the rhythms of the streets, and observing the humans from a distance. I have to admit, they puzzled me a bit. But now, I've found myself in this wonderful place called SPARC, and boy, has my perspective changed. It's true, I might take a little time to warm up to new faces. Meeting strangers used to be a dicey situation for me, but I'm trying to make progress! With a proper introduction and patience, I've shown that I can overcome my initial hesitation and embrace the chance to make new friends. I've even started to wag my tail more often - it's a sign that I'm opening up, you know. You see, all I really need is a bit of love, a dash of attention, and a good dose of mental and physical activities to keep my paws moving and my mind sharp. A home that understands my past and is willing to offer a fresh start is all I dream of. I might be cautious at first, but once you earn my trust, I'll be unconditionally loyal. I believe in second chances, and I'm ready to give my heart to the right human. So, if you're looking for a buddy who's more than meets the eye, someone who's faced challenges head-on and is ready to embark on a new journey of companionship, then look no further. Let's make memories together and show the world what second chances can do.
