Story
Ziva is a lucky dog! She was absconded in a rural area where she lived out in the open field for a few months. Locals put out food but she would never come close enough for them to grab her and get her to safety. Finally someone reached out to our friends at HOPE FOR PAWS and they went out there and were able to trap her. She appeared to have had puppies recently but they were nowhere to be found. Maybe the dumper kept the puppies and dumped her??? We just don’t know. She’s great with other dogs, cats and people of all ages. She does have a “momma bear” side to her and she will bark to alert you to strangers but she quickly calms down. She is affectionate but not needy, attentive and happy. Last photo is from where she was abandoned. She’s goofy and loving. Total Romantic.

Hi there! My name is Betty and I'm a 3-year-old Smooth Collie/Shepherd mix at the Santa Barbara Campus. Betty is the kind of girl who may not rush up to say hello right away — but once you earn her trust, you’ll discover the sweetest, gentlest companion by your side. She’s looking for a patient family that understands that some of the best friendships take a little time to grow. After being surrendered when her family moved and couldn’t take her along, Betty is learning how to navigate big changes and new environments. She can be timid and easily startled at first, so she’ll thrive with adopters who are willing to let her settle in at her own pace and show her the world isn’t such a scary place after all. Once comfortable, Betty’s loving personality starts to shine. She has lived with children and done well, and while her experience with other dogs has been limited, she has had positive interactions with a small dog in the past. She’s a soft-hearted, sensitive girl who would love a calm home where she can build confidence, enjoy quiet companionship, and finally feel safe enough to fully blossom. If you have a gentle heart, a little patience, and room on your couch for a shy sweetheart, Betty may just be your perfect match. Adoptions are open 12pm-4:30pm every day, except Wednesdays, and no appointment is needed. Like all SBH animals, when I am adopted I will have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Adoptions also include a certificate for a complimentary post-adoption veterinary exam from a local clinic and our partners at Hills Science Diet will provide a supply of food for my first few days at home. RYDER is a 1 year boy, he loves loves people!!! He is a Velcro dog and attaches himself to people :) He’s great with children, but because of his breed we prefer children 10 and older for him. He is good with dogs, good in the dog park, but at home he’s happy to be the only dog. He’s neutered and fully vaccinated. He’s got typical border collie personality, he loves exercise, hikes, walks and water. Once he’s tried out, he loves to hang and cuddle with you.

Story
Dip is a neutered male young adult, approximately 17-18 months old. Dip was found emaciated along with his sister Dot in a ditch in Santa Paula at around 5/6 months, they were rescued by Blue Light Canine Foundation. Dog friendly, can be people shy but warms up quickly. I believe fast moving loud kids would spook him. He does have some chase drive with small prey animals. Dip is a high energy young Border Collie and needs an experienced home who can meet his needs. He would thrive in an active home and I think he would be a fun little sport dog if someone wanted to go in that direction with him. He loves to work and learn new things! He knows sit and down but is also learning stay, focus, leave it, place and loose leash walking, as well as some tricks for fun! Located in Camarillo, CA.
