Eldridge is a great pyrenees border Collie mix who embodies the best of both worlds! He's a bigger guy, weighing about 15lbs at 9 weeks old, so he will probably be a large dog when fully grown. He is crate trained and sleeps through the night in his kennel. He is doing great with potty training. He loves this colder weather and will go potty in cold weather, rain, or snow! He loves to spend time outdoors hanging out and sniffing around the yard. He's very calm and sweet with the humans in his life. He will beg for cuddles and will take naps in your lap. But, he gets some serious zoomies with the other dogs in the home and loves to wrestle with them. He's also respectful of the cats in the home. I’m off to college, but I’ll be graduating on November 14 and ready for my new home then. I must explain. I was chosen to be a part of the DARR Center Department of Ag Companion Animal Program this semester at MSU in Springfield, MO. You see, I really have gone to college. And, I’m one lucky dog! The students are working with me and 5 of my friends on basic commands and behaviors. I’ll be all polished up and ready for a new family when I’m finished here. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets!
