Story
Flynn is an 8 year old rough collie/golden retriever mix. He was adopted from Humane Fort Wayne in 2022 after being found as a stray in Indianapolis. Unfortunately, I don’t have any prior history before Humane Fort Wayne so his age is also a bit of a rough estimate. He does have anxiety and is on medication for it (his special needs). He is very loving with his person/people but gets stressed in new situations. He does extremely well at doggie daycare and gets along well with other dogs there. He is very protective of his house and his people. I believe he would thrive somewhere with other dogs and a fenced yard or fenced land where he could run around. He is unsure/very anxious in new situations so any new owner would need to keep this in mind.

Story
Meet Norman, a 2-year-old standard collie. Norman is a dog's dog and prefers the company of other dogs over people. He is a very reserved dog who will take some time to win over. He is never aggressive towards people or other dogs, but is extremely reserved, and new people or things take him time to warm up to. He requires a home with a fenced yard, as he has previously escaped being out on just a lead. He is the sweetest boy, but would prefer to be a homebody; going out and about isn't his thing. His ideal home would be a calm, quiet home with older children and other dogs. Norman is neutered, vaccinated, started on prevention, and microchipped.

Story
Hi everybody, I'M CHAMP💙When I first came into rescue a few weeks ago, I was very timid and shy. They called me flapjack because I pancaked on the floor a lot. I have definitely come out of my shell and am turning into the perfect mix of playful and affectionate! 💙I am a border Collie mix and am approximately 6 months old. I currently weigh in at 32 pounds. 💙I love playing with the doodle gang here in my foster home, so I know I would definitely love to have a playmate to help me burn off some of my puppy energy! 💙I'm great with the cats and will sniff them (they smell funny) and just lay next to them. 💙I'm basically Mr. Congeniality with everyone! 💙I am crate trained andhave learned the doggy door very well. I'm actually a pretty smart boy! Oh, and did I mention handsome...with these blue eyes and all? 💙I am still a puppy, so I need guidance on all puppy matters....chewing, jumping up, play biting etc.I also don't remember ever wearing a collar or being hooked to this thing they call a leash...and it's a little scary! I'm still learning to trust that process, but I'm getting the hang of it! 💙I will steal your heart and be your best friend and a treasured part of your family if you adopt me! 💙I am available for foster-to-adopt with my adoption being finalized after my vetting is complete.I already started those poky things they call vaccines and microchips and started taking monthly heartworm prevention. My vetting will be completed by the end of the month after my neuter (I'm not sure I even want to know what that is)! 💙If you're interested in me becoming a part your family, please submit an adoption application at www.pawsofadamscounty.com.The ladies here say you must answer all questions completely and honestly to be considered being lucky enough to share your life with me! 💙I can't wait to meet my forever family! 💙www.pawsofadamscounty.com

Story
Orlo will be 2 years old in April 2, 2026. I got him as a rescue when he was 2 months old. He is extremely friendly, energetic, and smart. He has a jumping problem because he wants to give everyone hugs and kisses. He does great on a leash aside from some pulling at first and will sit and heel on command. He knows a lot of other tricks as well. Hes excellent with potty training and has not had an accident in the house in over a year. Hes never been remotely aggressive with other dogs, but he can be annoying as he often doesnt get when they have had enough play. He can play for hours by himself, especially outside. His biggest problem area is that he is kennel aggressive. When stressed, he will kennel himself and bark/lunge/and growl at anyone nearby. He’ll eventually snap out of it and be fine in the kennel. He has never actually bitten anyone in this state and it seems to be anxiety based. My ideal adopter would be someone with land where he can roam for most of the day.

Story
Weight: 54 lbs 💙🐾 Meet Bandit – An Energetic Soul with a Playful Spark! 🐾💙 Bandit is a handsome blue heeler mix with a shy, thoughtful personality and a heart full of potential. He may take a little time to warm up, but once he feels comfortable, his playful side shines. Especially when it’s time to play fetch, his absolute favorite game! This smart boy already knows how to sit and shake, showing off his brains along with his good manners. As a herding breed, Bandit has natural instincts that can make living with other small animals a bit challenging for him because he lives for the chase. Bandit would do best with an active family and a large space to run and play. Before arriving at the shelter; Bandit lived out in the country with a ton of space and a nearby pond and regularly went on long runs. A constantly low activity environment could be frustrating for him, which may not reflect well. Dogs: No Thank you! Cats: No thank you!! Kids: No Tiny Tots due to herding tendencies!!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.adoption fee $325.00 Cooper is a young Cattle Dog/Terrier mix with a bright mind and a big heart. He’s making great progress with potty training, does well in his crate, and loves playing with the pets in his foster home. He’s currently learning his leash manners and, like many herding breeds, has plenty of energy to spare—a fenced yard would be nice but not a requirement. We think Cooper has the potential to really shine in agility or other active training activities! Before adopting, we always encourage families to research the breed to make sure the energy level, temperament, and lifestyle needs are a good match. Cooper is an amazing pup who will thrive with an active family ready to help him reach his full potential. New foster dogs need time to feel safe. They may be skittish or fearful, so always stay with them outside—even in fenced yards. Ensure collars and leashes fit securely to prevent escapes. Your gentle presence and protection help them feel loved and secure. The adoption fee helps allow Perfect Paws to provide all animals with current, age appropriate vaccinations which include, DHLPP, Kennel Cough and Rabies (if the pet is at least 13 weeks old), and spay/neuter when necessary.  The fee also helps with the cost of deworming; heartworm testing (if the pet is at least 1 year old), heartworm prevention as well as flea and tick prevention for animals cared for through the rescue. He will go home with a collar, leash, and vaccination record.
