WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 🧭🐾 Meet Journey — A Sweet Soul Ready to Find Her Way Home 🐾🧭 Journey is a 1-year-old, ~40-pound sweetheart who has spent her puppyhood waiting for something every dog deserves — a family of her own. Born into an unwanted litter, Journey and her siblings grew up without the comforts of home life: no cozy couches, no bedtime routines, and no humans calling her name just because they love her. Yet through it all, Journey’s heart remained gentle, hopeful, and full of love. Journey is friendly, affectionate, and playful, with a soft, loving nature that makes her impossible not to adore. She does great with other dogs and kids, and has a beautiful balance of curiosity and calm. She’s the kind of girl who will happily explore the world with you and then settle in close, just to be sure she’s exactly where she belongs. Her mom is a heeler/border collie mix around 40 lbs, and dad remains a mystery — a charming wanderer who passed along good looks and great genes. Whatever the mix, Journey inherited intelligence, athleticism, and a loyal heart that’s ready to bond deeply with her people. Journey would thrive with an active, loving family who enjoys walks, playtime, and adventures, but also values togetherness and connection. She’s eager to learn, ready to blossom, and so deserving of the life she’s been patiently waiting for. 🐕 Journey’s Details: ✅ 1 year old, ~40 lbs ✅ Sweet, affectionate, and people-oriented ✅ Great with dogs and kids ✅ Playful, gentle, and loyal ✅ Smart and eager to learn ✅ Waiting for her forever family Journey doesn’t need much — just a chance, a safe place to land, and someone willing to love her wholeheartedly. She’s ready to stop waiting and start living the beautiful life she deserves. ✨ Apply today at haydudeequine.org and help Journey finally find her way home. 🐾

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! UPDATE FROM FOSTER Addie aka "DD" is roughly a 1-2 year old collie mix.  Addie is a sweet, quiet southern girl with a heart of gold!!!  Such an easy going, well behaved, sweet dog!  Everyone who has met Addie has complimented her on her demeanor.  She is so well mannered!!!  Traveled with her foster dad to many public places and loves meeting new people.  Crated & housetrained, good with kids, great on a leash.  She is the true plug and play dog!!  Addie would love to finally find her forever home this year! Well Helloooooo! My name is Addison, and OH MY DOG, am I happy!!! 2nd Chance busted me out of that scary place they call a shelter. I heard them say I was on the “euth list” — at first, I thought maybe that was like some kind of award? You know, like the Dean’s List? NOPE. Turns out, it’s more like permanently expelled… from life. So yeah, I was pretty pumped to hit the road! Me and my brother loaded up into this big ol’ van with a bunch of our new buddies. It was a loooong ride, but honestly? No complaints! We had fans blowing cool air on us, soft blankets to snooze on, and — best part — it didn’t smell like 1,000 wet dogs. #luxury Then we arrived at this magical place where people called fosters were waiting to meet us. And guess what?? We each get our OWN foster families! I feel like I just won Pup Idol. So yeah… something tells me I’m gonna LOVE the North. Stay tuned — more tail wags coming soon!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop! I got a second chance at life when K-9 Lifesavers rescued me from a very full shelter in Alabama, and now I’m dreaming of something I’ve never had before — a forever home of my very own. I’m a gentle girl with a soft heart. I can be a little shy at first, but once I feel safe, my sweetness really shines through. I do great with other dogs and enjoy their company — having a furry friend around helps me feel more confident. I’m at the perfect age for training and socialization, and I’m eager to learn with kind guidance and patience. I would love a home that understands my gentle nature and will help me blossom. If you’re looking for a sweet, loving companion to grow with, I just might be your girl. Could you be the forever home I dream about? Apply today and change my life forever. Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life.
