I’m an adorable Collie/Husky mix — at least that’s everyone’s best guess! I came all the way from a crowded shelter in Alabama, and now I’m ready for the best part of my journey: finding a forever home of my very own! I’m a super friendly, playful, and affectionate guy who loves spending time with people. I’m also great with other dogs and would be thrilled to have some canine friends in my life. I’d love an active home where we can go on adventures, play, explore, and then settle in for some quality time together. With my Collie/Husky genes, there’s a pretty good chance I’m going to be one smart cookie, too! I’m ready to learn, have fun, and become someone’s loyal best friend. So, what do you say? Apply today and change this deserving boy’s life forever! I promise to bring plenty of love, fun, and tail wags along with me. Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life. Story
-ESTIMATE WEIGHT FULL GROWN: 55 lbs -ESTIMATED AGE: 11 months (as of 8/2026 -KNOWN WITH DOGS: Reba has been amazing with dogs. She's very submissive when first meeting other dogs and very much matches their energy. She is super playful with dogs her age, but then with a fosters senior pup, she plays very gently and respects boundaries. -KNOWN WITH CATS: She is curious like most dogs are at first but with guidance and redirection and attention from you (the humans) she could care less! -KNOWN WITH KIDS: She is a dream with children! Reba has been around children of all ages and really enjoys the affection and attention she receives and it very polite giving affection as well. -KNOWN CUES: Reba knows many basic commands and enjoys showing them off for treats -KNOWN HOUSEBREAKING AND/OR CRATING: Reba is currently working on crate training and house training. When ne routines happen there are some accidents and it takes her about a day to settle in.. She can be little sneaky if left to her own devices so we do recommend that when not home with her she be crated or left in a room where she has appropriate items to chew on. -KNOWN LIKES: Attention, treats and all things positive. -KNOWN DISLIKES: We haven't found anything specific she doesn't enjoy. Notes from the foster: Reba really is the A+ dog to have in your home. She has all the amazing traits any adopter could ask for; as long as they are willing to give her a little time to mesh into her now routine you will not be disappointed in selecting her as your next companion! She has been an absolute delight and a massive cuddlebug. Foster Homes Needed! Do you have time and room in your life for a foster dog? http://www.muttloverescue.org/foster.html *****************   Meet one of the cutest pups ever,  Brandy.  Whatever you are doing, she is doing. If you are not doing it, she is going to convince you that you should be.  A true teenager with lots of energy and always up for an adventure.  She did well with her foster siblings and anyone else who wants to join them in the back yard for play time. She does well, figures everyone out and adjusts her play style.  Walking is an adventure for her, meeting and greeting everyone, she's just that friendly and eager to meet you.  Brandy is learming that mouthing is for toys and not for getting attention. Give her lots of  exercise and fun and she will soon relax.  She  is a smart girl and will learn fast with  Crates are ok but she really would prefer to stay out of them. We are recommending she be crated when left alone, she is busy and can find toys all through the house.  House training is on track but please keep her on a schedule until she figures out her new environment.  We recommend no snall children because of her energy and herding tendencies. Homes with a backyard and active fur sibling along with plenty of hiking and outdoor time on the weekends is her absolute dream family.  She is fully vetted and around that 6-7 months. Best guess on breed collie mix. And that is a real guess.  **BECAUSE OF OUR REQUIREMENT FOR A HOME VISIT, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO ADOPT TO HOMES IN THE NORTHERN VA / MARYLAND / DC METRO AREA** We have adoption events EVERY SATURDAY from 12-3 p.m. Please note that not all dogs can attend every event, so if you are interested in meeting a particular dog, please complete a no-obligation application on our website at http://www.muttloverescue.org/application.html OR write to adopt@muttloverescue.org. Story
Monty is a great name for a great dog like me ;) I have the Monty Python kind of humor... goofy and sweet! But, don't mess with my crate! That really is my only "pet: peeve!! I was found on the streets 2 years ago and was adopted as a pup... however, I became the boss in the house and didn't like anyone entering the house that I didn't know :( SO..... Back to the rescue, because they won't give up on me!! So here I am and I have really adjusted to the environment and new people meeting me and treats and lots of love. AND the crew here basically has determined that I need a family/adopters that will be in charge of the house. Someone I can trust to protect me so I don't have to!! I am vocal in my crate, so my crate needs to be away from the common areas so I can relax and not meet everyone that stops by. Once I settle into my new home I will follow your lead! I am a gorgeous boy, with caramel and milk chocolate highlights in my soft fur. I want to please my family and go on all kinds of adventures! I am awesome out and about, meeting new people and new friends :D I hope you will look into my eyes, the windows to my soul, and see the HOPE I have to find my own home again! The rescue is great because I got a second chance, but I REALLY want a home!! Local adoption only $300 (in TX)

Story
Waves is a wonderful, loving, cheerful, friendly, calm, curious, playful and healthy six year, 40 lb dog. Her mom was a rescue, she was born in foster care and we adopted her when she was 8 weeks old. She is well trained (good recall, obedience training) and loves spending time with people and in the woods. She doesn't bark much at all, but fancies herself an occasional watch dog. She'll be happiest with a person or family that loves spending time with her, playing fetch, going for walks in the woods and playing in streams. We are heartbroken to consider rehoming her. This comes after two incidents last year when kids jumped on her or got in her face and she bit them. The kids are fine, but this shook us up. She loves kids (we have two boys) and we have invested a lot in training her since those incidents, but we don't feel sure that she's trustworthy in every circumstance, namely when our kids' friends come to visit. This is causing stress for our family, prompting this decision.
