But unlike many working dogs, OTSC's have an 'off switch'.Three dogs and I'm getting more health issues. Hard to meet the needs of all three. I love Marg dearly and want what is best for her.Marg is mature enough to be easy and young enough to be active.She has EPI (Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency). Easy to handle with enzymes added to food. She is expected to live a normal lifespan. Otherwise a VERY HEALTHY DOG.Trained with positive reinforcement.Like to hike? She's your girl!Loves little puppiesGood with kids but never lived with any. Very cuddly and would love an older kid.Lived happily with a cat before. Meet Piccolo, a 1-year-old, 35-lb Collie mix who is ready to trade her difficult start for a life filled with love, fun, and family! Piccolo was found all alone, extremely thin and desperately hungry. She has come so far since then, and now she’s a happy, healthy, playful girl who loves people, kids, and other dogs! She’s crate trained, walks on leash, rides well in the car, and isn’t destructive or a big barker. She’s also got ENERGY for days! A fenced yard would be wonderful, and an active foster who enjoys walks, playtime, and adventures would be perfect for her. And fostering is easier than you may think! Our rescue provides the food, supplies, veterinary care, and support. You provide a safe place to land, some patience, plenty of love, and the chance for Piccolo to experience what being part of a family really feels like. Cindy is a beautiful 11 year old collie. Her only owner died last month and she been unable to find a new home. She is very sweet and loves walks and getting brushed and cuddling. She has just been the vet and has been groomed. She does have incontinence and requires medication and a diaper overnight and during periods longer than 3-4 hours. She also is not good with other dogs, cats, or smaller animals.

Meet David Bowie! Take one look at my photo and you’ll see how I got my name—I’m rocking one piercing ice-blue eye, one warm brown eye, and two spectacular radar ears! I’m an almost one-year-old Collie/Husky mix, and at a lean 32 pounds, I’m the ultimate lightweight sidekick. I'm a gentle, sensitive boy navigating the world with a tender heart. Fast movements and loud noises make me jump, and I can be a little head-shy at first, but once I realize you’re a safe space, I soften right up. I take treats with the gentlest mouth, adore soft pets, and on walks, my signature move is sticking right against your legs like a devoted little shadow. (I do just ask for a peaceful corner where I can finish my dinner in peace! ) Want to see my goofy side erupt? Introduce me to another dog! I absolutely light up around furry pals—I even threw a big play-bow to my own reflection in the mirror! Having a confident, friendly canine brother or sister at home would be a game-changer to show me the ropes. Because fast movements still startle me, a patient, low-key home without young kiddos will give me the space I need to truly thrive. We haven't seen them with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:    SC Shelter!   Special adoption considerations: Millie is a truly Lucky Dog. She tested positive for heartworms, but landed in a place where heartworm treatment is provided! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment. We are happy to discuss where in the treatment process this Lucky Dog is in right now!
