Story
The Tennessee 5 2 months old Collie / Poodle / Terrier This litter of 5 medium-sized mixed breed pups recently joined us all the way from Tennessee. Their parents were spotted in the streets, but supposedly took off before they could be caught. The above breeds are based off of what we were told the parents looked like. These pups are very social, sweet, cuddly, and playful... everything you hope to find in a puppy. They should do well in any home that has the time and patience for training a young puppy. Each will be spayed/neutered, microchipped, have 2 parvo/distemper vaccines, bordatella vaccine, and be UTD on monthly preventatives. They will be available beginning March 26th. We do not allow holds and the entire family must be present for the adoption. Please send us a detailed application from www.puppiesareworthsaving.com then answer our follow up email which will come within 13 hours. Do NOT apply unless you are serious and dedicated to adopting. Foster location: Forest Hill, MD

Story
Name: Citra Sex: Female Estimated Age: 3-4 years Best Guess for Breed: Border Collie Mix Weight: 59lbs Good With: Citra is good with other dogs as long as she has the proper introduction. We are not sure how she does with kids or cats, but happy to test her out for you! About Citra: Citra is an adorable 4 year old border collie mix who is incredibly smart and loves to learn new tricks. Fun facts: she knows over 15 commands and is working on several more, she’s a mozzarella cheese aficionado and butt scratches are her favorite! She also loves sunbathing - she can go for hours without moving from a sunny spot! Please read more about her below! CITRA’S PERFECT MATCH: PERFECT FAMILY: A home with 1-2 adults is ideal. Citra needs crate time when guests come over, but can warm up with a slow introduction and some treats. Because she is shy, we are recommending she not go to a home with small children. She can be quite scared of other dogs and cats, and would do best as the only dog in the home. However, she has been working her hardest with us to overcome her fears, and has shown lots of progress recently! PERFECT HOME: One with a fenced in yard away from the bustling city. EXERCISE NEEDS: Citra enjoys long walks on the leash and rolling in the grass belly side up at the park. She could play fetch and tug all day long with her humans! However, she is also very content to lounge around the house. She is such a playful pup and would love to learn new games and activities! She loves untangling a towel to get to her food, and that tires her out just as much as a walk! She should not be taken to dog parks. BEHAVIOR IN HOME: Citra is a sweetheart. She loves to play with her humans and then take naps on the couch or in her crate. She is slowly but surely learning how to interact with new humans, but it takes a lot of treats and patience to gain her trust. Once she gets comfortable, she would love nothing more but to snuggle up with you all night long. She is quiet and comfortable in her crate, knows the “place” command, and does not have accidents in the home. CRATE: Citra loves her crate, she will sleep and relax there during the day and while her humans are not at home. She also sleeps in there all night long! Color Match: ORANGE - Goofball (Socially Motivated) Dog Personality — Will work for what they want, but are not as committed to pursuing their own agenda; these are considered moderate-persistence dogs. Adopter Personality — Interested in doing some training and can provide regular interaction and activity. If you think that Citra might be your perfect match, apply today!April 23, 2024, 12:51 pm

Story
Max belonged to my Mom. He is loving, smart, obedient, and house trained. He is VERY FRIENDLY! He gets along with Cats and kids. My Mom really loved and spoiled him. She got sick in May of 22. I took care of him since then. My brother, who was there when she adopted him from a shelter in Ga, said he would take him. He backed out at the last minute. I travel internationally for work. I HAVE TO GET BACK TO WORK AS I AM ALMOST BROKE NOW. I don't have the time or the money to care for Max anymore. Need to rehome him ASAP so I can get back to work!

Please contact Kady Hammer (KadyH@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.sweet girl ISO fresh start and love!LOLLY NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!Name: Lolly     Best Guess for Breed: Shepherd mix Best Guess for Age:   3 years 11 months as of April 2024        SEX: Female Approximate Weight: 32 lbs Gets Along With:   Lolly does well with other dogs. Because Lolly is shy, she needs to go to a home with a confident, welcoming resident dog. Due to her shy personality, we do not recommend her for a home with children under the age of 12.We haven't seen her with cats or kids but she can be tested once she has arrived in the DC area. Currently Living at:  DC area foster home. Special adoption considerations:   Because Lolly was rescued and pulled from a shelter before she could be altered, she is not yet spayed. We have scheduled her to be spayed; however, if she is adopted before the spay, her adopter must assume responsibility for the spay. It must be completed by May 13, 3024; there are NO EXCEPTIONS and NO EXTENSIONS to this date. The adopter may take over the Lucky Dog appointment slot.  Lolly is also from a hoarding/cruelty situation, and was very scared at rescue. Because Lolly is shy, she needs to go to a home with a confident, welcoming resident dog. Due to her shy personality, we do not recommend her for a home with children under the age of 12. Lolly is Looking For:  For a loving home that delivers all the sweet things her rescuers whispered in her ear.... 'You're safe now, sweet girl. The life you deserve starts now. You get lots of love, quality kibble, a cushy dog bed - and a warm lap if you'd like too. You're safe now, sweet girl.'  Lolly was rescued from a hoarding/cruelty case and landed in a massive south Texas shelter that routinely has 1200-1500 animals in their care; her chances of being adopted in that area are, well, low to nil. Once she arrives in the DC area, she likely will be nervous in new environments. She is eager to get her own humans - ones who get that she might need extra support during her adjustment and give her all the love and patience she needs. And ones who take her for sniffy walks and all those adventures she's been missing out on - she's in his prime and has lost time to make up for! And what do her humans get in return? An incredibly sweet and loving dog with an enormous stockpile of adoring gazes and loyal companionship to offer the humans in her new chapter.   What do you say? Will you help her write it? We haven't seen him with kids but he can be tested. Calcifer currently lives with a cat in his foster home and is not very interested in the cat.  Currently Living at:  DC area foster home. Special adoption considerations:    Calcifer is also from a hoarding/cruelty situation, and was very scared at rescue. He was placed in a short term foster home pending a hoped-for flight to the DC area on 4/13 (foster or adopter needed for that to happen!) and has been making great strides! We think he will benefit from being in a home with a welcoming resident dog or having numerous opportunities to be around other dogs in various environments - they will show him how to dog in new places! Extra patient and loving humans are definitely needed.  Calcifer is Looking For:  For a loving home that delivers all the sweet things his rescuers whispered in his ear.... An incredibly sweet and loving dog with an enormous stockpile of adoring gazes and loyal companionship to offer the humans in his new chapter.   What do you say? Will you help him write it? What My Foster Says About Me:    Cal is incredibly sweet, trusting, gentle, and affectionate. He takes direction and correction well from humans and from his foster brothers. He will do great with a gentle person/family with patience and kindness. If you are looking for a loud, rambunctious dog who roughhouses and is scrappy, Cal is not the right fit. If you are looking for a best friend to quietly follow you around the house, look deeply into your eyes with his gorgeous baby blues, curl up next to you everywhere, go for walks, and give gentle kisses, then Cal is your guy! He is a bit timid, but he reacts by moving away. He has not shown any signs of aggression at all. He deserves the best person and family!! He has been through so much and remains gentle and sweet and just wants loves… lots of loves. He is great with dogs and humans. He would be perfect with other animals or as an only. His last foster mom had a cat and he did great!     Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:       The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and transport from the shelter.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online   at   bit.ly/adoptaluckydog  . Story
I acquired my love from a friend, she is 4 years old, Penelope requires a lot of attention, love and affection. She loves the outdoors. Eats Purina one and some table food, she is happy and healthy, no ailments in lineage. A beautiful dog. She is skidish with small children, until she gets to know them. So, you will have to watch her, she will nip if she does not trust a person. We have to let her go because my child is extremely allergic; I do not want to put her in a shelter; because she does not deserve to be caged in and not loved and protected.

Story
Are you in search of a one-of-a-kind serial kisser? Well, look no further, because I, Mandy, am the dog you've been waiting for! I come with a mix of awesomeness and a charming personality that's sure to steal your heart. I can be delightfully laid-back, enjoying those calm moments, or I can transform into a bouncing ball of joy when the mood strikes. Walks and jogs? Count me in, especially if you're by my side. But here's the thing-I love playing with other dogs so much that I often choose their company over toys. Let's talk sunbathing. If your couch has that perfect spot for catching rays, you can bet I'll be there, soaking it all in. I'm a big fan of lounging, whether it's under tables, during dinner time, while you're working at your desk, or even when you're cuddled up in bed. I'm all about being close to my people, and if you choose to adopt me, I'll be all about you! I'm a sociable girl, getting along well with other dogs and kids (especially with submissive/non-dominant dogs). My crate training and potty training with a doggy door are top-notch. I'm a pro at commands like going to my crate and sitting patiently. Now, about my diet-here's the deal: I have EPI (Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency), which means my pancreas doesn't produce the enzymes I need to digest food properly. Thanks to some attentive rescuers and veterinary care, we've got it all figured out. I'll need a specific diet and a pancreatic enzyme replacement supplement to keep me feeling great. Think of it as a special appetizer and entree at every meal. EPI won't slow me down, and I'm ready to trade serial kisses for a loving forever home day in and day out. So, how about it? Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)
