Story
Monty is a great name for a great dog like me ;) I have the Monty Python kind of humor... goofy and sweet! But, don't mess with my crate! That really is my only "pet: peeve!! I was found on the streets 2 years ago and was adopted as a pup... however, I became the boss in the house and didn't like anyone entering the house that I didn't know :( SO..... Back to the rescue, because they won't give up on me!! So here I am and I have really adjusted to the environment and new people meeting me and treats and lots of love. AND the crew here basically has determined that I need a family/adopters that will be in charge of the house. Someone I can trust to protect me so I don't have to!! I am vocal in my crate, so my crate needs to be away from the common areas so I can relax and not meet everyone that stops by. Once I settle into my new home I will follow your lead! I am a gorgeous boy, with caramel and milk chocolate highlights in my soft fur. I want to please my family and go on all kinds of adventures! I am awesome out and about, meeting new people and new friends :D I hope you will look into my eyes, the windows to my soul, and see the HOPE I have to find my own home again! The rescue is great because I got a second chance, but I REALLY want a home!! Local adoption only $200 (in TX)

House trained: Yes Energy level: High Noise level: Quiet My foster guardian says: My favorite thing about Joey is how affectionate he is! He couldnt be more cuddly! Hi, my name is Joey, and Im a Joy-y to be around! Thats what my foster family, and pretty much everybody I meet says! Im a super happy, snuggly pup who loves to be with his people and get all the love! Im a little shy with new people and dogs, but once I warm up, youll forget I was every anything but a total love bug! My foster family says Im gaining confidence everyday, and they think Ill come out of my shell in no time! I have a lot of energy, and I love to play! I like to get everyone involved in games of chase, tug, and you throw the ball and Ill steal it and run around the yard like a hooligan! Have you ever played? Its my favorite! I also love to wrestle and play with all my doggy friends at the park! Having another pup in my forever family would be so much fun, though Id be okay as an only child too! My foster family says that Im well on my way to being the best behaved boy ever! Im potty trained and crate trained, and I walk really well on leash. Im working on remembering that not everything is a chew toy (Im a puppy after all), but I love to chew on bones and toys, and Im very easily re-directed if I get something I shouldnt be snacking on. I dont know any tricks yet, but Id love to learn some with my forever family, especially if snacks are involved! If youre looking for a fun-loving bundle of joy, thats my dictionary definition! I cant wait to join my forever family, so apply to adopt me today! Please visit our website www.ruraldogrescue.com to learn more about this amazing dog and to see other dogs available for adoption!

Story
Meet BEAU! Beau is a gorgeous 2.5 year old, 37 pound male black and white Collie/Spaniel mix. He is very sweet and lovable, seems to understand house training and is crate trained. He is excited to meet people (of all ages) and nuzzles up to you for head rubs or belly rubs. He loves to go for walks but also settles down nicely to hang out with his people. He has done great with other dogs. Beau ended up at a rural North Carolina shelter, and we can only imagine how he wondered why his family did not come to take him home. After a month at the overcapacity shelter, a local foster agreed to temporarily give him a safe place to stay until we could bring this extremely sweet dog into PetConnect. He is so happy that PetConnect has come to his rescue and brought him to the DC area to find a forever family that will give him the attention that he deserves and never abandon him to such a scary place as a kill-shelter ever again. Beau would love to curl up with you to hang out on a spring night! He would be an excellent new member of the family! ***Please note that the first step is to fill out an application (It does not commit you in anyway but allows us to discuss with you if you and the dog are a good fit). In addition, an important step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies ), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.*** Beau is neutered and up-to-date on vaccines. The adoption fee for this dog is $425 which includes routine vetting, spay/neuter. PetConnect Rescue cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. Sharkey is a sensitive soul with a big heart waiting for the right person to unlock it. This timid pup may take time to warm up, but once he trusts you, he’ll be your most loyal companion. He’s looking for a wonderful home where he can build confidence at his own pace. He does well with other pups and loves to play in water! He is also house trained, kennel trained, knows the command sit, and is willing to do anything for more treats! Adoption fee is $200

Story
The votes are IN and we ARE the WINNERS!! Found at the side of a country road (very common dumping ground, next to the railroad tracks), and saved by a wonderful "foster" and her husband and son and other doggy friends :) We started living like REAL loved puppies the day she saved us!! We are learning potty training and are crate trained experts!! We are leash training as well, but you have to understand.... we were never loved, never lived IN a home and NEVER had ANYONE CARE!!! So, potty trained or not, we are over the moon (and so is our foster mom). But now it is time to find our furever homes! We love and play very well together and would be ideal as a pair, but do NOT have to be adopted together. We need another calm and confident dog to keep us happy/played with and to teach us all we need to know about being loved pups :) We are gorgeous pups and our coats will accent your hair :) ADOPT...DON'T SHOP!!! Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)
