Story
Cassidy found herself on the euthanasia list at a local shelter. Not because she had anything wrong with her, but just because the shelters are currently so overwhelmed. Luckily, we were able to find a foster for her and it turns out she is a great girl! At 6 years old, she is settled, housebroken, crate-trained, and has good house manners. We haven’t yet seen her around kids but have no reason to believe she wouldn’t be OK with them. She has been okay with some dogs but would prefer to be the only dog in the house. She likes to follow her people around and hang out with them. If you would like to make Cassidy a part of your family, please fill out an app! She is a young and sweet South Carolina girl on the hunt for her forever home. Once she gets to know you, Apple is very affectionate! You will have a true and loyal friend in Apple. Apple can be a bit dog selective as she is fearful of some dogs. She would do well as the only dog in a home or with a male dog that is not dominant. Apple loves being outside and playing! Apple has a lot of unconditional love and loyalty to give. She's just waiting for that special someone who will be hers forever. Story
Name: Citra Sex: Female Estimated Age: 6 years old Best Guess for Breed: Border Collie Mix Weight: 59lbs Lives With: Citra is currently living with two adults in an apartment environment. Housetrained? Citra is housebroken and crate trained. She also knows all of her basic commands. About Citra: Citra is an adorable 4 year old border collie mix who is incredibly smart and loves to learn new tricks. Fun facts: she knows over 15 commands and is working on several more, she’s a mozzarella cheese aficionado and butt scratches are her favorite! She also loves sunbathing - she can go for hours without moving from a sunny spot! Please read more about her below! CITRA’S PERFECT MATCH: PERFECT FAMILY: A home with 1-2 adults is ideal. Citra needs crate time when guests come over, but can warm up with a slow introduction and some treats. Because she is shy, we are recommending she not go to a home with small children. She can be quite scared of other dogs and cats, and would do best as the only dog in the home. However, she has been working her hardest with us to overcome her fears, and has shown lots of progress recently! PERFECT HOME: One with a fenced in yard away from the bustling city. EXERCISE NEEDS: Citra enjoys long walks on the leash and rolling in the grass belly side up at the park. She could play fetch and tug all day long with her humans! However, she is also very content to lounge around the house. She is such a playful pup and would love to learn new games and activities! She loves untangling a towel to get to her food, and that tires her out just as much as a walk! She should not be taken to dog parks. BEHAVIOR IN HOME: Citra is a sweetheart. She loves to play with her humans and then take naps on the couch or in her crate. She is slowly but surely learning how to interact with new humans, but it takes a lot of treats and patience to gain her trust. Once she gets comfortable, she would love nothing more but to snuggle up with you all night long. She is quiet and comfortable in her crate, knows the “place” command, and does not have accidents in the home. CRATE: Citra loves her crate, she will sleep and relax there during the day and while her humans are not at home. She also sleeps in there all night long! Color Match: ORANGE - Goofball (Socially Motivated) Dog Personality — Will work for what they want, but are not as committed to pursuing their own agenda; these are considered moderate-persistence dogs. Adopter Personality — Interested in doing some training and can provide regular interaction and activity. The fee to adopt Citra is $475. That covers the cost of all her vaccines, the collar she’s wearing, her transport to DC and her care in her foster home. She’s up to date on all age appropriate vaccines and already spayed. Citra has been seen by a shelter vet and we are not aware of any health issues. If you think that Citra might be your perfect match, apply today!February 28, 2025, 10:22 pm

To learn more about Buddy, please get in touch with dogs@lostdogrescue.org Buddy will be attending one of our adoption events coming up this weekend! To learn more about our upcoming events and to see which event they will be attending, please visit our event page at https://www.lostdogrescue.org/events/ (*please note that the specific event pages are typically updated on Fridays with information on which dogs will be attending which events*) Good ‘ol Buddy Boy! Buddy is ready for his next adventure! Whether that is hanging around with his people or going for a walk in the park. On walks, Buddy gently pulls to investigate new smells and say hello to new friends. This goofy and charming boy would benefit from another dog at home to remind him, that his pawrents will be coming home soon! Buddy has done well previously with doggie siblings and even thrives with their company. He doesn’t get rambunctious, he likes to be invited but is a ‘let me just watch’ kind of guy. Buddy has learned to jump in and out of the car, showing that he has gained so much confidence and is one smart cookie. He appears to be housebroken. Although he gets stressed out at adoption events, he is the sweetest pup at home. He loves to run around in the sand… so if you understand correctly- you may have found your new beach bum pal! Buddy has good leash manners, leaving trash alone and wanting to say hello to other canine friends. Buddy is a fiercely loyal companion who will be sure to warm the hearts of your whole family.

Story
We got Tobi from an Amish farm when he was just a tiny puppy. It was right around Christmas, and he was a special gift for my 15th birthday. Now, Tobi is 2 years and 6 months old, and hes grown into a fun, energetic, and loving dog. Hes incredibly playful, full of energy, and always ready for an adventure outdoors. He absolutely loves pets and cuddles, and hes not picky at all when it comes to food.Tobi isnt leash trained yet and tends to pull when walking, but hes very smart and a quick learner. With some time and patience, I know hell catch on fast. Thats part of what makes this so hard hes an amazing dog who just needs someone who can give him the time and attention he deserves. I recently turned 17 and started working, and its become clear that I cant keep up with his needs. I dont have help from family, and even though it breaks my heart, I know rehoming him is the best thing for him. Im looking for a new home where hell get the attention, training, and love he needs.

Story
This specially televised programming is about the amazing, the scientific, and the water-lover: SHARKY! Living true to his name he loves to chomp and the water hose and will your summer days with endless entertainment! He is wary of new faces and possessive over food, no telling the depths of the waters of his past. He does well around other pups, and has not experienced any cats yet. He takes very good care of his ocean (kennel) and waits to go potty when outside. He can be a bit unpredictable and snappy towards new people, so he would do best in a household without children or elderly people. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)
