Teddy is about 1.5 years old. We acquired Teddy from a family member that was no longer able to care for him. He has been good with our other dog and our 3 kids. He has only had a few interactions with cats. He is intact and will need to be vet checked as we did not receive any previous vet records for him. He is lovable, friendly and loyal. He likes a good pet and to follow you around. He knows basic commands. He does not jump. He can be a little skittish with louder noises but has never run off. He has not been in our house. He has had access in/ out of our garage through a dog door.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Darrow arrived at the shelter on 8/7/2026, from one of our local rescue friends. He's an approximately 7 year old red heeler mix. We were told there could be some corgi in there, but he looks a lot like a purebred heeler. He's a really nice boy! Darrow has been vet checked, neutered, and microchipped, and his fee is $150. Darrow lived outside most of his life and was abandoned by his owners when they moved. However, he's pretty well-mannered and keeps a very clean kennel. He's one of the happiest dogs we've ever met! He loves people. He kind of goes with the flow of things. He might need a little basic training and will require regular exercise. A home that has some experience with herding breeds like him would be great. We do think he would do okay with other respectful dogs. Cats? It's hard to say. Kids over 5 would be best.  NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Lex is an approximately 2 to 3 year old mystery mixed breed who arrived from the city pound on 7/5/2025. This great boy has now been at MCHS for over a year. We're still not sure which breeds are in his genetic makeup, but there could be some kind of shepherd and other herding breeds, like border collie. He has been fully vetted and microchipped and his fee is $150. Lex is a little bit shy at first but becomes a total lovebug within a few minutes. Even though he is an adult, he is playful and has the energy of a young puppy. He will need some basic training but seems very ready and willing to please. Lex will need a lot of exercise to keep him happy and well balanced. We're thinking he would do best as the only dog in the home, at least until he gets some good training under his belt. Smaller animals are most likely a no for him. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved.
