Rescued as a stray alongside his siblings in Alabama, Niklas got a second chance when he was adopted last year. He settled into home life, learning what it means to be loved and safe. But due to an unexpected change in his family’s circumstances, they could no longer keep him—through no fault of his own. Now, this sweet boy is looking for a new beginning with a family who can give him lasting stability. And what a dog he is. Niklas loves to be petted—truly, wholeheartedly. It’s like he’s making up for lost time, soaking up every bit of affection he can get. He’s smart and eager, happily sitting for his harness and walking beautifully on leash. Out on group walks, he follows along with ease, enjoying both the adventure and the companionship. He’s wonderfully adaptable—comfortable in his crate, relaxed when roaming the house, and great with other dogs. Niklas has that special, easygoing nature that makes him a perfect addition to so many kinds of homes. Add in his handsome looks and soft, wavy coat, and it’s hard not to fall in love. Niklas says he enjoys backyard time, daily walks, and cooling off inside after a day of fun. Cash here! Hey! I have been making very good progress in my new foster home. I fit in with all the pups - big and small. I am altered, house trained, microchipped, and up to date on all age-appropriate shots." My foster mom says, "He does OK with the cats (he's a herding breed so he will try and herd them every now and then but it doesn't bother my cats). He is a little uncertain of new people but does warm up fairly quickly and then LOVES butt scratches! Due to being a little skittish I would recommend a home with no small children. He stays out in the doghouse all the time. He is a very chill guy who would love walks a couple times a week! We are working on walking and doing great with a training collar."
