You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Ahri came to the shelter on 8/7/2026 as an owner surrender. Her owners' lives underwent some big changes, and they could no longer give her the time and attention she deserves. She is a large and mature dog who is around 8 years old and looks mostly like a white German shepherd. She also resembles a collie in some ways, and she is very sensitive and intelligent, as both shepherds and collies are. Her coat is thick, dense, and fairly long, and she has been bathed and brushed out by our volunteers. Ahri has now been vet checked and updated on bloodwork and vaccinations. She was previously spayed and microchipped and her fee is $125. We had to work with Ahri for several weeks after her arrival as she slowly started to adjust to the shelter. Her whole world was upended so it was understandable. She would do best in an experienced home with a securely fenced yard. Ahri will not be the type to jump into someone's lap right away, for sure, but with time and a lot of patience, she'll become a person's most loyal friend. She will shed and require plenty of brushing to prevent her coat from matting. She has had basic training and has done okay with male dogs of similar size. She has done okay with kids, too, but we do not know about cats. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. Story
Teddy is about 1.5 years old. We acquired Teddy from a family member that was no longer able to care for him. He has been good with our other dog and our 3 kids. He has only had a few interactions with cats. He is intact and will need to be vet checked as we did not receive any previous vet records for him. He is lovable, friendly and loyal. He likes a good pet and to follow you around. He knows basic commands. He does not jump. He can be a little skittish with louder noises but has never run off. He has not been in our house. He has had access in/ out of our garage through a dog door.

Ember is a 6-year-old Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix. We got her as a puppy and she has been with us for just over six years, but we are moving this spring and unfortunately cannot take our dogs with us.Ember is:• Friendly with other dogs, cats, and children• Active and loves to explore the outdoors• Very food motivated and eager to learn• A "guard dog" who patrols the window• Cuddly and loves to relax on the couch• Up to date on shots and vet visitsShe likely needs a place to run, or someone to go out on runs with, as we haven't been able to exercise her as much lately as she needs. She has always been well-behaved and we have never had any issues with biting.💰 Rehoming fee: $0
