Story
Fred is a shy but happy guy. His owner passed away and he found himself at the shelter as no family wanted him. He's looking for a home where he'll have plenty of room to run around and sniff all the great things outside. He may happier in a solo pet home, but he has lived with 2 other dogs in the past. This dog has a history of seizures, according to his medical record (Rolling Hills Vet, Columbia, MO). He does not have an official diagnosis and is not currently on medication. However, it's possible that, if seizures are observed, diagnosis and/or treatment will be needed under the care of the adopter's veterinarian. Bloodwork was performed on 3/7 and all parameters were within normal limits Volunteers say "I spent some time with Fred today! He was very sweet and did well once he settled down on the walk. Lots of sniffs! He was pretty excited and pulled a lot when we saw small animals like squirrels. He definitely seemed interested in a dog we passed and pulled a bit/stared but didn't bark. He lost interest after he past and was back to sniffing. He also was not very food motivated but maybe he didn't like the treats I was offering." "Fred and I went for a walk on Mizzous campus and drove around town, while he stuck his head out of the window. Fred loved being in the car. But, he also loved to run around outside. Fred is so loving, so I think he would do best in a family home or be a good companion to someone who loves to give pets. Fred may be a little older but he's as friendly and agile as a puppy. I know Fred is going to make his future family members feel so loved and cared for! The most unique trait about Fred is that he is so grateful. Fred was leaning up against us and asking for love the entire afternoon." "Fred is cool!! He was friendly, affectionate, very energetic, and smart. Fred was great to walk with and although we didn't run, he definitely would have loved it if I'd said "Let's go! He was very interested in any people/dogs that we passed, but was completely responsive to my words to keep on walking. He was also very gentle taking treats! Fred is a great dog, he needs a lot of exercise and one-on-one connection and he's very eager to please."

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in adopting, read about our Adoption Process and complete an Adoption Application on the Mo-Kan website.  A Mo-Kan application must be filled out to begin the process.   Meet Eevee, an adorable, 12 week old Aussie PUPPY, that is a bundle of energy, and not for the faint of heart! She was obtained from a “breeder” at 7 weeks, found to be a little too much for her owner to care for. She was relinquished to rescue, and now in a loving foster home. She is not quite ready for adoption, but are taking applications, and processing them to find her forever home. Eevee is very affectionate and absolutely LOVES everyone she meets. She hasn’t been introduced to children, but may look at them as a chew toy, or something to herd. Her favorite game is Tug, she prefers tug toys, learning that people are not a good option. She is starting to enjoy fetch, but not reliable to bring the toy back. Eevee is VERY food motivated, and loves her training sessions. Training must be motivating, positive, fun, and short throughout the day, to keep her interested. Eevee is very smart, solves puzzle toys, independent, and confident. She has been around agility equipment, and not afraid to approach and climb on new objects if food is involved!  She is very much a puppy, goofy, playful, can be vocal when she plays. She wants to be included in all activities, and is vocal when she thinks she is missing something! She loves toys, and anything she can find to chew. This would include your shoes, remotes, wallets, and people. She will need a job, or activity where she can use her brain, as she is a problem solver, and a smarty pants! Playing in a securely fenced backyard will probably not be enough exercise and stimulation for her. Obedience, trick training, agility, nose-work, running, hiking, perhaps disc, are all possibilities for this girl. Eevee continues to work on her house and kennel training. She loves other dogs, and takes corrections well. She would do well with confident or neutral dog, as she can be a bit bossy. She has been introduced to cats, initially a little afraid. She is now confident, and would like to play with, or mouth the cats. She will need a dog savvy cat, to prevent too much interest, as she loves to chase! Eevee will need a securely fenced yard to keep her safe. She will also family that will keep her active with exercise and brain activity. If you would liked to be considered to adopt Eevee, please fill out an application for adoption. Be patient as we consider applications, as she isn’t ready for adoption just yet. She will need another set of vaccinations before she goes to her forever home, and will go with a spay contract. Eevee is being fostered in Wichita, Ks.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 22, 2024, 8:26 am

Ruhn is a very energetic guy! He LOVES toys more than anything and would love a home where he has space to run and play. He was sadly tossed from a moving vehicle so he's hoping to land a home where he never has to worry about being discarded like trash ever again!
