Piper. What a sweet girl. She loves, loves her humans. She dances when she sees you. She immediately runs to you, puts her paws on you to greet and to solicit pets. She inches closer as you pet her 😊she’ll stand, sit or lay quietly for pets. Butt rubs? Ooh, those are her fav, next to treats, which she takes very gently. Piper is a very affectionate girl. She always acknowledges you right away when you call her name. She comes right into your space and stays there until you move. She is so obedient. She doesn’t do anything crazy that’ll give you a heart attack. Well, except one :/ She looks for escape routes in enclosed areas. She may dig a little to make a bigger gap :/ We haven’t figured out yet if the thrill is in the hunt for an escape route or if the thrill is what is on the other side :D Piper is wonderful on the leash. She is a great walker. Nice, slow and gentle, almost zero pulling. Off leash, she likes to explore but comes right away when you call for her. Piper loves to watch balls fly over her head. She may or may not chase after it :D Piper is not tolerant of high-energy, rambunctious dogs. Co-existing is more her style. Piper is 2 years old, 25lb smooth Collie mix. She is looking for a family she can be a companion to. Pets, cuddles, just being close to you is what she loves. Older kids and seniors (or calm adult dogs) are preferred.

He loves to run and play. He is good in a crate, does bark a bit, good with other dogs as long as they can tolerate a bit of mischief, and is supper sweet and soft. He can open lever doorknobs so you have to lock them if you don't want him to get out or put him in a crate. He is slightly food motivated so it helps with training but he loves to eat laying down like he is in a Greek bathhouse. He is a real fun dog and has a great personality. Such a fun boy to be around.

Meet Dodger. He was saved from an overcrowded shelter where he was at risk of euthanasia. He is now fully vetted, neutered and all vaccines. Dodger did test positive for Ehrlichia before he came to us and was put on a regimen of doxycycline. He should need no further treatment and has no symptoms. He loves to play with other dogs and would benefit from another dog in the household. Probably not a good candidate for a home with cats. He is a friendly guy but young children may not be a good fit due to his exuberance .  I do prefer a fenced yard for Dodger so he can play and burn off energy. His foster dad has been working on commands with him and Dodger is a quick learner and doing great. He has mastered many commands. He is a smart leaner and wants to please. He will heed a caregiver willing to exercise him. His foster family has told us that he loves to swim in their pond.  His adoption fee is $200. Since coming into CCAS`s care in July 2025, this remarkably well-behaved, housebroken, and crate-trained girl has shown nothing but a pure, happy-go-lucky love for life. Chilli is a total sweetheart who delights in long games of fetch, catches frisbees with impressive athletic skill and thrives on engaging her sharp mind—showing incredible potential for agility training. She greets new people with warm curiosity, enjoys the company of calm dogs who respect her relaxed social style, and does great around older children (ages 9 and up) who can appreciate her penchant for affectionate snuggle time on her own terms—and who won`t mind if her enthusiastic pursuit of a tennis ball occasionally sends a toy tumbling!Behind Chilli’s playful, speckled-and-freckled smile lies the journey of a true survivor. Chilli has courageously battled PIMA (Pure Red Cell Aplasia), a severe form of Immune-Mediated Hemolytic Anemia (IMHA) where her body’s immune system targeted her own bone marrow, leading to critical anemia. She has endured blood transfusions, intensive immunosuppressive therapy, and two bouts of pancreatitis along her road to recovery. Thanks to the extraordinary dedication of her medical champions at CCAS, her own unbreakable bravery, and an amazing foster home, Chilli has successfully weaned off nearly all her treatments and remains stable on a low dose of prednisone. Managing her ongoing health will mean maintaining a carefully controlled diet for her pancreas and partnering with specialty veterinary care to monitor her progress. Chilli needs a special, committed adopter who recognizes that this incredible girl is worth every bit of extra care. Meet CJ, your next snuggle buddy! CJ is a well-mannered, playful, young-at-heart companion with an adventurous spirit and so much love to give. At an estimated 7 years young and around 43 lbs, he’s the perfect mix of outdoor explorer and cozy couch companion. He’s currently living in a foster home with another dog and showing everyone just how special he is! When CJ first arrived at the shelter, volunteers noticed he was having some trouble with moving his back paw, so he was quickly placed in a medical foster home to give him the care and support he needed. He was subsequently diagnosed with IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease). The good news? CJ’s case is considered low-grade, and his veterinary team is optimistic about his recovery with conservative treatment and rest. Thanks to his wonderful vet team and dedicated fosters, he’s already made tremendous progress - about 90% of the way there! CJ is looking for a forever family that will cheer him on through the rest of his recovery and help him stick to his care plan. This includes leisurely strolls, and endless snuggles. In his foster home, he has proven to be house broken, crate trained, rarely makes a peep, and manageable on leash. He loves exploring the outdoors, sniffing all the interesting smells, and soaking up affection. CJ is also very treat-motivated, making training a breeze! At night, he likes to curl up on the couch next to you and snooze. When he wants some extra attention, he will reach out with a paw, that’s his way of politely asking for a back scratch, belly rub, or even a little paw massage. Consider yourself officially summoned for snuggles! His compatibility with cats and children is currently unknown. As always, a meet and greet with resident dogs is required. CJ is available through our Foster-to-Adopt Program, which means you can welcome this sweetheart into your home while he completes his veterinary care, including neuter, vaccines, microchip, and heartworm testing.
