Meet Rusty, a handsome ~3 year old neutered male hound mix, weighing about 65 lbs! Rusty is a friendly, goofy boy who LOVES people! Because of his size and clumsiness, we recommend older kids 8+, as he may unintentionally knock over a small child. Rusty can do a 1 week foster to adopt trial with an approved adopter so you can see how he settles in before committing to adoption. Rusty has come a long way since his arrival in New England, having initially been severely underweight. But now he's thriving with a full bowl of food, a warm bed, and gentle care. He has blossomed in his foster home, learning to play, cuddle, and trust. Rusty adores his foster family and loves snuggling on the couch - his favorite pastime! Rusty generally gets along with more laid back/submissive dogs after a proper intro, and he prefers female dogs. However, he is dog selective and can be a bit of an attention hog, so we feel he would do best as the only dog in the home. Also no cats for this boy, as he may confuse them for a tasty snack .
