Please meet Pizza, aka Pete)! We adopted Pizza from the SPCA in Queensbury, NY 3 years ago. Great with other dogs, very friendly with people, but has resource guarding issues. We're looking to find him a new home now that we have a baby. He has a bite history with resource guarding. He has not bitten other dogs, or displayed resource guarding with dogs, but has with people. He responds well to training and management around resource guarding with commands like trade, drop it, and leave it. He also knows an entire slate of other commands (sit, stay, no, lay down, turn around, etc.) Pizza had ACL surgery February of last year, and has been seeing the vet about issues with his other back leg. We will be so sad to see Pizza go. Personality-wise he is a great dog aside from the resource guarding. We love him very much and would really love to see him find a new, safe home.
