Puppy Jack is a handsome 4 1/2 month old Coonhound mix puppy looking for a family to help him blossom. Surrendered by his owner, this boy is very nervous upon meeting new people right now. He is a jumper and/or climber and will need a fully enclosed 6-foot fenced yard (not a chainlink fence, though). He will need a patient owner who has lots of time to spend with him while he learns the essentials. He’ll flourish with plenty of playtime, exercise, mental stimulation, socialization and love while he learns.Jack is up to date on vaccinations, heart worm negative, microchipped and will be neutered upon adoption . He is currently at our Freeport location. Hi, I’m Rufus — your future best friend, co-pilot, and official pup cup taste-tester 🐶☕ I'm 5 years young • 47 lbs (currently underweight, working my way up to 55–60 lbs) I’m a happy, social guy who loves meeting new people and making dog friends. I do great with other dogs, enjoy being out and about in public, and I’m always up for a car ride (especially if it ends with a treat… just saying). I’d do well in a home with kids 5+ who understand how to be respectful with dogs. I’d prefer a home without cats — they’re just not really my thing. I’m still brushing up on my house manners, but don’t let that fool you — I’m super smart and very motivated by food and praise. With a little consistency, I’m going to shine. In November 2024, Firestarter was discovered at a dump site in rural Alabama with heavy chains and metal rods cuffed to her leg. She was terrified of everything and everyone. Over time and thanks to her foster’s patient care, she learned to trust again. Firestarter has grown into a charming extrovert who loves the company of people and other dogs. She gets along with cats too—as long as they don’t mind her playful nature! Although she’s an active girl with an adventurous spirit, she’s exceptionally well-behaved and mellow at home once she has had her daily walks. Firestarter is fostered in Ridgefield, CT, and is available for local or out-of-state adoption as long as the adopter can travel to meet her. She’s 3 years old and weighs 60 pounds. Hazel has lived with a family her whole life, and when her owner fell ill they dropped her off at a shelter. Hazel is sad and confused. She did not deserve this. She’s such a friendly and affectionate girl who is really missing her home life. Hazel has the personality you’d expect from her breed. She’s a good natured, intelligent girl. She’s playful and walks very well on a leash. Hazel would love an active family that will give her the mental and physical exercise she needs. She will thank you with her loyalty and lots of kisses! Hazel is housebroken and appears to be dog friendly too. Hazel is spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines.
