Story
Lady Lucy – Sweet Survivor  Some dogs have a way of capturing your heart the moment you meet them, and Lady Lucy is certainly one of those dogs. Though her past appears to have been filled with uncertainty, she has emerged from it with a gentle spirit, a loving heart, and an unwavering belief that good things are still ahead. Lady Lucy was one of nine dogs discovered living in a remote wooded area of Middle Tennessee after they were apparently abandoned when their owner fell on difficult times. No one knows exactly how long they survived on their own, but their situation touched the hearts of many rescue volunteers who came together to help. With patience, food, water, and kindness, the dogs were gradually brought to safety. Rescue groups across the region stepped forward to help, and Critter Cavalry Rescue was fortunate enough to welcome Lady Lucy into its care. From the moment she arrived, it was clear that Lucy had once known the comforts of a home. She settled in beautifully and quickly showed everyone what a wonderful companion she is. At just over a year old and weighing 32 pounds, Lucy is the perfect size for a family looking for a smaller dog with a big heart. She appears to be a delightful mix of Corgi and Beagle, though her most remarkable feature is her personality. She is affectionate, gentle, and full of love, with the easygoing nature often found in hound breeds. Whether she's relaxing beside you on the couch or quietly following you from room to room, Lucy simply wants to be close to her people. She is fully grown, crate trained, housebroken, and has excellent manners in the home. Lucy currently lives successfully with other dogs and does very well in an active household with teenagers, but she has made it clear that she would not mind having a little less competition for attention. After all she has been through, we think she would happily embrace a life where she can enjoy a bit more of the spotlight and receive the princess treatment she believes is rightfully hers. Lady Lucy has a way of looking into your eyes that makes you feel like you've known each other forever. She is the kind of dog who forms deep bonds, offers unwavering companionship, and fills a home with warmth and comfort. Her difficult past has not diminished her capacity to love; if anything, it seems to have made her even more appreciative of every kindness she receives. Now all that remains is for the right family to find her. Lady Lucy is packed and ready for her next adventure, with an open heart and a hopeful spirit. She is ready to leave her difficult past behind and begin the life she has always deserved with a family who will cherish her as the special girl she truly is. To learn more about Lady Lucy or to request an adoption application, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJune 5, 2026, 11:16 am

Story
If ever there was a dog who deserved a fresh start, it is Lil NYX. This delightful little guy has finally escaped a difficult past and is now ready to begin the happy life he has always deserved. After spending months in a shelter waiting for someone to give him a chance, NYX is now in the care of Critter Cavalry Rescue, and we are determined to make sure his next chapter is filled with love, stability, and happiness. NYX's journey has not been an easy one. Through circumstances beyond his control, he found himself waiting in a shelter while his future remained uncertain. During that time, three different families expressed interest in adopting him, only to have their plans change. Each disappointment left shelter staff heartbroken because everyone who met NYX quickly fell in love with him. He was a favorite among the staff, who knew what a special dog he truly is. When he was finally cleared to move on and become available for adoption, there was genuine celebration among those who had been rooting for him all along. At just one year old and weighing 24 pounds, NYX is the perfect size for almost any home. He appears to have some Corgi and perhaps a little Beagle in his background, giving him an irresistibly adorable look to match his wonderful personality. He is a quiet dog who is not prone to barking, and he has proven himself to be easygoing, affectionate, and eager to please. He gets along beautifully with other dogs, enjoys children, walks well on a leash, is crate trained, and is already housebroken. With the exception of wanting to chase a cat his overall temperament is friendly, playful, and incredibly loving. The truth is that we struggle to find anything negative to say about this sweet boy. NYX has all the qualities people hope to find in a companion dog. He is the kind of loyal friend who will happily share your adventures, curl up beside you at the end of the day, and fill your home with joy and companionship. After everything he has been through, he deserves a family that will never let him down again.NYX is ready right now to leave his past behind and run straight into the life he was always meant to have. If you would like to learn more about him, ask questions, or request an adoption application, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com. We have a feeling that the family lucky enough to adopt Lil NYX will wonder how they ever lived without him. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.June 5, 2026, 11:16 am

Story
Some dogs arrive in rescue angry at the world. Others arrive completely shut down. And then there are dogs like Eddie — little souls who have every reason not to trust people anymore, yet still look at you with hopeful eyes and quietly ask for love.   Eddie is an absolutely adorable one-year-old Beagle mix weighing about 30 pounds, and everything about him is endearing. From his compact little body to his soulful face and soft expression, he is impossible not to fall in love with. He has the kind of face that makes you want to scoop him up, sit down, and promise him that life is finally going to be better.   Sadly, Eddie’s beginning was anything but easy.   He was rescued from a neglect and abandonment situation along with eight other dogs. They had clearly been surviving rather than truly living. Although friendly, they were frightened and unsure of the world around them. It is heartbreaking to imagine how long Eddie went without the stability, affection, and care every dog deserves.   But despite everything, this sweet boy’s spirit is shining through almost immediately.   Within a single day in foster care, Eddie has already started relaxing and showing his true personality. His foster mom says he is soaking up affection and beginning to understand that kindness is real. He has welcomed the companionship of the other dogs in the home and has quickly traded fear for hopeful little smiles and a wagging tail.   Eddie is not an overwhelming or demanding dog. He is the kind of companion who simply wants to be near his people. He is quiet, gentle, affectionate, and incredibly easy to love. Whether he is curling up beside you after a long day or trotting happily along on a walk, Eddie seems grateful for every small moment of comfort and attention.   We truly believe Eddie could fit beautifully into many different homes and lifestyles. He would make a wonderful family dog for children wanting a loyal best friend. He would thrive with a young couple looking for a devoted companion in an apartment or condo. He could also be the perfect addition to an empty-nester home where he could enjoy walks, adventures, and peaceful evenings filled with love and companionship.   What Eddie wants most is what he has likely never had — consistency, safety, and someone who will never leave him behind again.   He is fully grown, fully ready for a forever home, and fully deserving of a life filled with kindness and commitment. Somewhere out there is the family meant for Eddie, and when they find him, they are going to wonder how they ever lived without him.   To give Eddie the loving future he deserves, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com.
