Jemma is about 11 years old and weighs about 15 pounds. Jemma is housebroken and bonds quickly with her person. She seems to do best with women and can be a bit protective. Once she picks you as her person, you will never be alone. He is 100% house trained and loves car rides. Oscar likes going for walks and is working on his walking manners. He will most likely follow you from whatever area of your home you are in to the next and will be your seat buddy as soon as you sit. This handsome Cowboy Corgi is being fostered in East TN Athens. Out of state welcome. The adoption fee on Adopt A Pet includes the cost of transport. We use Rescue Riders for our pet transport needs because they are the best! Meet Cowboy! We gave him this name because well, he is likely a cowboy corgi. This sweet gentle soul was a stray that ran the streets of Cleveland TN and had numerous people trying to catch him. He is very weary of strangers so he takes a little bit to warm up to you. He walks good on a leash and uses his kennel like a pro. He has not tried to potty inside so far after three days so that’s a plus. He is very happy with numerous other dogs. He so far has been a quiet observer and very sweet. He would do fine with children that are older and can respect the dogs space. There are NO EXCEPTIONS and NO EXTENSIONS to this date. Name:   Tatum     Best Guess for Breed:  Corgi and Australian shepherd mix   Best Guess for Age:  3 years as of June 2025       SEX:  Female   Approximate Weight:   34 lbs   Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:   South Carolina shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get up here. Special adoption considerations: Tatum is a truly Lucky Dog. She tested positive for heartworms, but landed in a place where heartworm treatment is provided! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment. We are happy to discuss where in the treatment process this Lucky Dog is in right now! This sweetie did an amazing job raising her babies Talia, Tessa, Tilly, Tony, Trina, and Tyla, and they're off to get their own homes.
