Story
** Current location: in a foster home in South Korea ** Meet Lilo👋 Lilo was rescued in 2019 as a tiny 1-month-old pup, just in time from euthanasia, along with his mom and siblings. He spent 5 years in the shelter before moving to a foster home late last year for recovery from the leg surgery. He’s now fully recovered and back to enjoying life—and waiting for his forever family🙏 • Personality: Calm, Sweet, Gentle Super gentle, calm, and low-maintenance! He may be a little shy at first, but he loves people of all ages—especially women ❤️ He just needs a little extra time to warm up to men. Low energy, no separation anxiety, and chill like a cat at home! • Affinity with - Dogs: He tends to avoid overly hyper dogs but is otherwise polite and friendly on walks. Got along well with his old shelter roommate and coexists just fine with his current doggy friend. - Cats: Shows curiosity on a walk - Adults/Kids: Good with adults, including seniors. He just needs a little extra time to warm up to men. / He loves kids! • Walking Manners: Well-mannered, pacing with his handler without pulling the leash. • Housetrained: Fully housebroken, going potty outdoors. • Bathing/Brushing: Very good and calm • Car Sickness: Rides well in the car—no motion sickness! • Separation Anxiety: Zero. • Barks/Howls: Usually very quiet. Only barks toward a man in black. • Appetite/Food Allergies: Fish seems to cause darker tear stains. / He needs to be fed low-calorie kibbles (currently Hill's Science Diet Light Adult Small Bites) • Shedding level (1~10): 6-7 • Likes/Dislikes: Loves walks more than anything! / He’s not a fan of hairdryers, vacuums, or anything loud and windy. • Health: - Had cruciate ligament surgery on his right hind leg in Nov 2024. Fully recovered now, but should avoid jumping from high places or going down stairs too fast. - Needs to maintain a healthy weight (around 29-33 lbs) to protect his joints.

Please contact Caitlin Finn (caitlin.finn@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.sweet mama ready for her own family! TATUM NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:   Tatum     Best Guess for Breed:  Corgi and Australian shepherd mix   Best Guess for Age:  3 years as of June 2025       SEX:  Female   Approximate Weight:   34 lbs   Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:   South Carolina shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get up here. Special adoption considerations: Tatum is a truly Lucky Dog. She tested positive for heartworms, but landed in a place where heartworm treatment is provided! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment. We are happy to discuss where in the treatment process this Lucky Dog is in right now! Just email the adoption coordinator - the address is at lower left!   Tatum is Looking For:  Her forever home! This sweetie did an amazing job raising her babies Talia, Tessa, Tilly, Tony, Trina, and Tyla, and they're off to get their own homes. Now she's seeking her humans for getting and giving all that affection and love. And for long sniffy walks and romps in parks and adventures - she's a young girl and can't wait to see more of the world!   Most of all, though, she wants to know she's safe and loved and under her own roof. Where she belongs and upon whom to bestow all her adoring gazes and loyal companionship. What do you say? Will you be the lucky recipient?   What My Foster Says About Me:   We will update this once she has spent some time in foster care.   Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:    The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. Story
🧡 Meet Choco🧡 🐶 Name: Choco 📏 Weight: 15kg (33 lbs) 🎂 Age: 5 years old ⚥ Gender: Male (neutered) 🏥 Health Condition: No known medical issues 🐾 Breed: Welsh Corgi 🎨 Color: Brown & White 🐾 Rescue Story Choco was rescued in Korea after his former guardian, who had been diagnosed with a terminal illness, was no longer able to care for him and had to surrender him. He was at risk of being sent to a shelter, but thankfully, he was rescued just in time. He spent a month in a foster home in Korea where he did relatively well. Aside from some barking triggered by outdoor noises and needing caution with unfamiliar dogs, he showed no major issues. He was later adopted by a family in Vancouver, living on a nature-friendly island called. The family had young children and frequently allowed off-leash activities. However, this environment turned out to be unsuitable for Choco. In response to the changes, he began showing stronger Welsh Corgi tendencies such as demand barking, herding and nipping behavior during off-leash situations, which became more frequent. He also displayed aggression toward unneutered male dogs. 💡 What Choco Needs Choco is looking for a family who understands the Welsh Corgi breed and can provide consistent leadership and training. He is intelligent, loyal, and eager to bond, but thrives best in a stable and structured environment. 🏡 Choco’s Ideal Home 👨‍👩‍👦 A household with adults only and no visiting children 🐕 A home where Choco is the only pet 🏡 A detached house with some space from neighbors due to barking (not suitable for apartments or duplexes) 🌳 A securely fenced yard so Choco can exercise safely even when walks aren’t possible 🌲 A quiet suburban or rural environment is better than a high-stimulation city setting 🕒 A guardian who can dedicate time and effort to consistent training and guidance Choco isn’t the right fit for every home, but for the right person who understands his breed and can offer the guidance he needs, he’ll be a deeply devoted and loving companion. Please consider giving Choco the forever home he deserves. 💛

Please contact Kady Hammer (KadyH@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Adorable pup looking for forever home! TILLY NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!   Name:  Tilly            Best Guess for Breed:   Corgi/aussie mix   Best Guess for Age:    6 weeks as of 7/3/25            SEX:   female   Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!):  5.5lbs as of 7/3/25   Gets Along With:        Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training.   Currently Living at:    SC Rescue Campus    Special Adoption Considerations:       Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy.  Tilly is Looking For:  Hiya! I'm Tilly! Me and my littermates, Trina, Tony, Tyla, Tessa and Talia, have loved our time in the puppy pile, but we are each ready to pack our bags and find our very own forever home! I'm looking for a home that will let me play with toys and get my puppy zoomies out and give me snuggles in between playtimes. When I'm a little older, I can't wait to explore my new neighborhood on lots of walks, and I'd really like to make a bunch of doggie friends along the way. Oh, and I should probably take a puppy obedience class or two so I can show you how smart I am. What do you say? Do you have room in your heart for me? What My Foster Says About Me: Coming soon! Puppy Vetting Requirements:        Lucky Puppies have had their age appropriate vaccines, but may not yet be “fully” vaccinated. It is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, they are at greater risk for illness than an adult dog.      Due to this puppy’s young age, she/he has not yet been spayed or neutered.  As part of the adoption contract, it will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that this is done no later than November 23, 2025. There are NO EXCEPTIONS and NO EXTENSIONS to this date. A non-refundable spay/neuter deposit will be collected if you would like Lucky Dog to pay for this animal to be spayed/neutered at one of our low cost partner vets.   Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog!  TO ADOPT:       The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter.    If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. Apply for a DOG: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/CDCK/Dog City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model). Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us. Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis.
