Story
Every day in rescue brings another story that is harder to understand than the last. The number of innocent dogs and cats being abandoned, neglected, and left behind feels endless — yet somehow, they still choose to trust again. Sweet Eddie is one of those dogs.   At just a year old and around 30 pounds, Eddie is the kind of little Beagle mix who instantly steals your heart. With his soft eyes, adorable round body, and gentle expression, he looks like he was made to curl up in someone’s lap and finally feel safe. Beneath that precious face is a boy who has already experienced far too much disappointment in his short life.   Eddie came from a heartbreaking situation of neglect and abandonment alongside eight other dogs. While they were all friendly, you could see the uncertainty and fear they carried with them. But even after everything he has been through, Eddie’s loving nature was impossible to hide. Within just 24 hours in foster care, his personality has already begun to bloom. The worried little dog from intake has been replaced with a smiling, hopeful boy who now welcomes affection from his foster mom and happily enjoys the companionship of the other dogs in the home.   There is something especially special about Eddie. He has a vibrant energy to play and stay with his people and other dog all day.  He is sweet and shy and outgoing all at the same time.  He would be best with a younger dog that wants to be his romping  partner in crime.  He kind of makes people instantly feel connected to him with his eager nature to be your best friend. He does demand attention — he leans into it, soaking up every kind word, every gentle touch, every moment of kindness he may have gone without for far too long.   We can picture Eddie fitting beautifully into so many different kinds of homes. He would make children beam with excitement and pride to call him their own. He would thrive as a loyal companion for a young couple starting out in an apartment or condo. He would also make the perfect walking or hiking partner for an empty-nesting couple looking for a devoted little shadow to share life with. Eddie is wonderfully versatile because what he truly wants is simple: love, security, and someone who will finally choose him forever.   He is fully grown, fully ready, and fully deserving of the kind of commitment he has never known before. Eddie is not looking for perfection — just a family willing to open their heart and help rewrite the rest of his story with love, patience, and belonging.       ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. Story
If you've been dreaming of a little dog with a huge heart, Daisy Di may be the one you've been waiting for. At just 18 months old, this adorable little Corgi weighs only 14 pounds and stands about 11 inches tall, making her one of the tiniest Corgis we've seen in quite some time. She may be petite in size, but she has enough love to fill a house.   Daisy Di has already experienced more than any young dog should. Still just a puppy herself, she was bred far too early and lovingly raised her litter before finally getting the chance to begin a life of her own. Now that her puppies have all found wonderful homes, it's Daisy's turn to be cherished, spoiled, and loved as someone's very special girl.   From the moment you meet her, it's impossible not to fall in love. Daisy is incredibly affectionate and gives the sweetest cuddles. She adores people, greets everyone like a friend, and gets along beautifully with other dogs and even cats. She has a gentle, easygoing nature that makes her a delightful companion whether you're relaxing on the couch or heading out for an adventure.   Don't let her tiny size fool you—Daisy has plenty of spirit. When she's feeling her best, she can zip around the yard like a little racehorse, reminding everyone that Corgis were bred to be active, intelligent working dogs. She enjoys being part of whatever her people are doing and would love a family that includes her in everyday life.   Daisy Di is housebroken, crate trained, walks nicely on a leash, and has all the basics already mastered. She is heartworm negative, spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and completely ready to begin the next chapter of her life.   We would love to see Daisy Di join a family that will appreciate both her affectionate nature and her bright mind. A securely fenced yard would give her a safe place to run and play, and children eight years and older would be a wonderful match. She would especially enjoy activities like agility, flyball, trick training, hiking, or simply learning fun new games with her family. She loves having a job to do and thrives when she can use both her body and her brain.   Daisy has spent the beginning of her young life taking care of others. Now it's finally her turn to be the one who is cherished. She is ready for a family that will give her the happy, carefree future she has always deserved, and in return she will reward them with endless affection, loyal companionship, and a lifetime of love.   If you think Daisy Di could be your perfect little partner, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com. Be sure to tell us your city and state when you inquire. Daisy is ready to find the forever family she's been waiting for.   If you are interested please Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmailcom     ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. Story
Meet Nacho!! He is a handsome 18 month old Corgi/Australian Cattle Dog mix who weighs 29 pounds abd is a ton of fun. This boy has personality A+ and a heart full of affection. He's a smart young dog who is learning quickly and making great progress with his house training.    Nacho loves spending time with people, especially kids, and enjoys playing with other dogs. He's an active, happy companion who would have thrive with a family that can continue his training and give him  plenty of love and attention.   One thing to know about Nacho is that he's not a fan of cats, so he'll do best in a cat free home.  A fenced yard would be perfection but if with an active energized walking person or family, he could do that lifestyle too!   Please email critter cavalry rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested.   ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. Story
Introducing you to Sunny! Attention all Jack Russell lovers! Sunny Remington is a Jack Russell mix weighing in at 35-40 lbs. She is up to date on all vaccinations. She has typical Jack Russell characteristics: full of energy, prey-driven, loves jobs, loves companionship with her person. She will protect you, play fetch with you (hours upon hours) and love you (snuggles under blanket beside you). She would do best in a home with no small children and no other animals (she is the queen). Sunny is house trained and crate trained. Her best trick is bouncing the ball herself and catching in her mouth. Serious inquiries please.  Sunny is a 5 month old JRT mix! She is currently in a foster home through our MS team, has received two rounds of vaccinations/dewormer/prevention, and is thriving! Sunny was rescued off of the side of the road by the garbage truck crew. An owner reached out to claim her, but never came to get her. She was terrified at the shelter, but thankfully a foster stepped up to temporarily house her! She’s dog friendly, and loves to play!! We would love for Sunny to be able to hitch a ride on our transport to RR this coming up Saturday, but would need a foster and/or potential adopter to do so! Please reach out to the Russell Reacue Team if you’re able to help Sunny! This is Sunny!  Sunny is a 5 month old JRT mix and weighs 15lbs. She’s dog/cat/kid friendly, kennel trained and has been doing well on potty training. She’d do well with an active family — she loves to go on walks!  ‍ She’s received two rounds of vaccines/dewormer/heartgard/nexgard, and is hw negative.Available dogs are met by appointment only and pre-approved adopters ONLY.Our dogs are currently in a foster homes which can answer your questions better than anyone else. We promise our fosters that we will qualify all potential adopters before we ask them to communicate with potential adopters. The application is the first step. Story
Dobby is beautiful with deep brown eyes and soft yellow fur- we don't know his mix - he could have a little lab, golden, he's a smaller longer bodied dog. He takes a minute to warm up to other dogs, but then he is very playful. Dobby is energetic and is getting the hang of housetraining. In a quiet and consistent and quiet household, he should do well. Dobby can jump and climb fencing, so he will need a family who will regularly walk him and not leave him on his own outside (even in a fenced yard). To adopt one of our animals, the first step is filling out OUR ADOPTION APPLICATION at https://tapsusa.org/why-adopt/application/ (Please copy and paste the link into your browser.) Please make sure you get a confirmation that your application has been submitted. If you are a match for one of our pets, we will reach out to you to schedule a meet and greet. All meet and greets are BY APPOINTMENT ONLY The Animal Protectorates c/o Friendsville Animal Center 706 Kiser Station Road Friendsville, TN 37737 All animals are spayed/neutered, current on age appropriate vaccinations and microchipped before they go to new homes because that's the responsible way to keep them all safe. We only adopt to local homes in the immediate vicinity because we utilize our volunteer force to process home visits. Photos of your home, letters of reference are not acceptable which is why we only adopt locally. Only in very rare circumstances do we adopt out of area. Examples of this would be finding the perfect home for a senior animal or one that has other special needs that we have not been able to place locally for an extended period of time. Thank you for wanting to adopt.
