Story
Hi, future family 🧡 My name is Nut, and I’m a 1-year-old boy with a round little body, short legs, and a face that makes people smile the moment they see me. I’m about 10kg, and people say I look like a mix of Shiba Inu, Welsh Corgi, and Jindo. Somehow, I got the best parts of all three — a bright Shiba face, the gentle charm of a Jindo, and tiny Corgi legs that wiggle along when I walk. Apparently, the way I toddle toward people is “extremely cute.” I hear that a lot. But before I got this second chance, my story was almost over. I was rescued from a city shelter just before euthanasia. If help had come any later, I wouldn’t be here today writing this to you. Even though my past was difficult, I still love people very much. I never stopped hoping someone kind would choose me. I’m actually pretty friendly when meeting new people. I like staying close to humans, and if you look at me or talk to me, my tail starts wagging almost immediately. I really enjoy attention, affection, and simply being near the people I love. I also get along well with other dogs and enjoy running around or relaxing beside dog friends. I do have one funny little habit though… Sometimes I get a tiny bit jealous. If another dog is getting all the attention, I might quietly squeeze my way in or try to remind everyone, “Hey… I’m here too!” But it’s not aggressive at all — it’s more like a little kid asking not to be forgotten. Honestly, I just love people so much that I want to be included in the love too. There’s something important I hope you understand about me: Living in a real home will be completely new for me. I’ve spent my life in shelter environments, so things like house routines, walking politely on leash, waiting alone, potty habits, and understanding family life are all things I’m still learning. At first, I might make mistakes, get overly curious, feel nervous in a new place, or show lots of puppy energy. But that doesn’t mean I’m a “bad” dog — it just means I’ve never truly had the chance to learn what family life feels like. Rescue dogs like me sometimes need time to adjust. For the first few days or weeks, I may seem shy, overwhelmed, or different from what you expected. New environments can feel scary at first. But if you stay patient and give me time, I promise I’ll slowly begin to relax, trust, and show you more and more of my real personality. And I think… my real personality is pretty lovable. I’m the little dog who trots after you on short legs. The one who looks at you with bright eyes whenever you call my name. The one who simply wants to be loved and included in your life. Once, I was standing at the edge of goodbye. Now, I’m waiting for a forever family who will give me a warm home, kind patience, and a life where I never have to feel unwanted again. If you choose me, I’ll spend the rest of my life loving you with my whole heart. 🧡

Story
Meet Tutu, a corgi mix rescued as a stray in China. His owner fell for him, fostered him, and brought him to the US 2-3 years ago. Tutu quickly became obsessed with balls — soccer balls especially — chasing, pouncing, and herding them for hours on his short corgi legs. Then his owner traveled back to China and got stuck there with visa/immigration issues, unable to return. With no clear timeline for reuniting, she made the hard choice to find Tutu a new home in person rather than leave him waiting indefinitely. Tutu already knows what it's like to be loved — he just needs someone to continue it. A yard, a soccer ball, and a family willing to play fetch on repeat is basically all he asks for. Interested in meeting Tutu? Reach out to learn more about adopting him!

Story
Meet Darla! This girl has won our hearts. She is just the sweetest. She is around two years old and weighs around 22 lbs. She has the body of a corgi though she is certainly a mixed breed. She was found months ago in a rural area with a few puppies that she was desperately trying to take care of. She had been seen in the area for a long time and was finally able to be captured when she settled into one spot to care for her puppies. She was a great mom to her babies, who have all found homes, and now it is her turn to find a forever family of her own.  Darla is such a gentle girl. She loves affection, loves pets, will paw you for more attention as if she is catching up on getting the love she did not have for so long. She is great with other dogs - playful and mindful. Darla can be timid initially with new people or new situations, that is understandable. She will need a family who can help continue to build her confidence.  She would love to be in a home with another playful dog. It helps her to come out of her shell and she takes cues from them when she feels unsure. She loves sniffing and playing in the yard and will run after every bunny she sees. She loves her crate and having a little den to go to whenever she is feeling overwhelmed.  She is fully potty trained and can walk on a leash, but is afraid around cars. She will be ok with kids over 10. Younger kids might be a little overwhelming for her.  Darla is the nicest girl and deserves the best home. She is spayed, vaccinated and chipped. Her adoption fee is $450 We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.  Thank you for stepping up to save a life! To expedite to meet with this dog, please go to our site at www.savinggreatanimals.org and fill out an application. We look at the first applications to arrive, so we hope to hear from you soon!
