You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  Do Not Apply for a pet with PENDING in the name bar.  They have been matched with a home, but not adopted yet. Winnie is a 7 year old dachshund born on August 14. She is a little shy until she gets to know you, but warms up quickly. She gets along well with other dogs. She does not like young children. She wants to be the spoiled baby! Winnie loves to sit on your lap and go for car rides. Her favorite treat is peanut butter. She is a boisterous girl who thrives on love and attention. She will need a human who has lots of time for her. We prefer a home who is familiar with the breed     Thank you for choosing rescue! We are volunteers with other commitments in addition to rescue. Our time is very limited. Therefore, we request a  $20.00  donation through paypal in order to process and expedite your application. This shows that you are truly interested in adoption. Your application will remain on file for a year. Applications are available at www.eastcoasthumanesociety.com under forms/application. Donation should be made through Paypal at www.eastcoasthumanesociety.com. We are only available by phone after you have an approved application. All pets are located in the southeast. Transport is available to the NE for an additional $300.00 transport fee. We do not adopt in MA, RI due to import laws. Residents MUST pick up in CT. All dogs over 8 months will be spayed or neutered and heartworm tested. All dogs and puppies have been vaccinated,microchipped, dewormed and treated for other parasites. Please read the FAQ on our website for additional information. Adoption fees are cash or money order only. Guardians helped us get all our vetting taken care of and now we are ready for our furever homes!I am estimated at 6 months old and currently weigh about 25lbs. My breed is a mystery - I am on the shorter side with a long body like a doxie, but am mixed with a larger breed, maybe lab (all best guess). I am very sweet with an energetic puppy style. I do a little resource guarding with other dogs, but the trainer has been working with me on it. I will need help with my potty training and leash training, but promise to be the bestest boy I can!My $450 adoption fee includes vet exam, up to date vaccines, deworming, microchip, and neuter- everything already done. Chewie is a sweet, vocal, and very energetic boy. He loves to play, and barks a lot. I originally bought him from Florida Puppies Online down in Ft Myers. He was sold to me as a mini poodle, but I highly suspect there is dachshund not too far back in his line, though I have never tested him. He was born November 7th, 2021, making him 5 this year. Why am I rehoming? For reasons hard to explain, Chewie has been very suspicious of men and strangers in general, my husband especially. We don’t think we’re able to accommodate him being this skittish much more, which is why we’ve decided it’s best to re-home to someone who is able to calm him down and help his fear of people.
