Born from a graceful Doberman Pinscher mama and a very determined Dachshund dad, Lindsey is what happens when elegance meets “I said what I said.” She doesn’t just walk into a room… She arrives. If dogs wore fake eyelashes, Lindsey would have a full glam set on, strutting in black leather like she just left a fashion show and a security briefing at the same time. Titles she answers to: • Princess • Head of Security (Fashion Division) • The Cat’s Meow (self-declared, non-negotiable) Personality: Dainty… but will absolutely throw down if needed Sweet… until you question her authority Cute… and fully aware of it Daily routine: • Wake up flawless • Patrol the house like it’s a runway • Judge everyone silently • Provide elite-level security from ankle height • Demand cuddles like royalty collecting taxes Special skills: ✔️ Looking adorable while being slightly intimidating ✔️ Standing her ground despite being… low to the ground ✔️ Making you feel like you live in her house Build: A delicate little frame with just enough “don’t mess with me” installed. Training status: Knows she’s the boss. Working on letting you believe you are. Ideal home: Someone who: – Appreciates a tiny diva with a security complex – Doesn’t mind being supervised… constantly – Is ready to serve a princess who also moonlights as a guard dog Adopt Lindsey and receive: A best friend A fashion icon A pint-sized protector with big “don’t test me” energy Warning: may strut, judge, protect, and steal your heart—all before breakfast. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Baby Beckham! The Low-Rider, Bootleg Security Sausages, all of 3 months old! Somehow, against all odds (and basic geometry), a Doberman Pinscher (Their momma) and a very determined Dachshund (Their daddy!) got together and said, “Let’s make something confusing.” And here we are. Introducing Beckham!  What we ended up with: • The confidence of a 90-pound guard dog in a little dog body • The body of a stretched-out potato with tiny legs • The decision-making skills of a raccoon at 2am Think of the possibilities! ✔️ Bark at danger (and also wind, grass, and their own reflection) ✔️ Attempt to intimidate strangers while tripping over their own feet ✔️ Follow you everywhere like a weird little security noodle ✔️ Act like they pay rent Physically? Imagine someone started building a Doberman and ran out of materials halfway through, so they just… kept going horizontally. Emotionally?  Dramatic. Deeply committed to chaos. Confidence level: Thinks he’s a police K9. Trips over his own feet mid-patrol. Ideal home: Someone who understands that “personal space” is now a historical Someone who appreciates: – Surprise zoomies – Being followed to the bathroom – A dog who will protect you from absolutely nothing, very bravely Bonus features: – Built-in alarm system (goes off randomly) – Lap dog software installed in a not-quite-lap-sized body – 0% fear, 100% nonsense Adopt this long-bodied legends and experience: Love. Loyalty. Confusion.  An unintentional, designer Dober-Dox. Think of the possibilities, a Doberman mindset in a tiny body. Some of us Doberman people DREAM of this size Doberman:) Side effects may include laughing daily, being judged constantly, and explaining to every single person you know “Yes… we know… we don’t know how this happened either.”  www.uniteddobermanrescue.org  Click here to watch a video of Beckham Adoption Pending!.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.United Doberman Rescue Adoption Process Application Submission: Complete the adoption application thoroughly. Story
Sweetie may be little, but she has a big heart just waiting for the right person to help it bloom. This darling young dachshund/chihuahua mix is a gentle, goofy girl who may be a little shy at first, but give her a couple of minutes and you will see her sweet personality start to shine. Once she feels safe, Sweetie is playful, curious, and oh so endearing. Sweetie loves the company of other small dogs and enjoys playing chase with her furry friends. She would likely thrive in a home with another dog to help boost her confidence and give her the social companionship she loves. Big dogs are a little too much for this petite pup, so she prefers friends more her size. This quiet little girl has moderate energy, enjoys toys, and has the cutest quirky habit with treats. She will take one piece, hide it away for safekeeping, then trot back for another like a tiny treasure collector. Her kennel is her safe place, where she settles in comfortably and relaxes, even if she has not quite mastered going in on command just yet. Sweetie came from a Texas shelter scared and underweight, but she has already shown just how resilient she is. She is still working on potty training and building confidence with new experiences, but with patience, love, and a gentle routine, this timid sweetheart is sure to blossom. If you are looking for a playful little companion with a tender heart, a silly side, and so much love to give, Sweetie might just be the happily ever after you have both been waiting for. I just joined my foster family and we are still getting acquainted with one another. Once they learn more about me, they will add more information here! Sweetie is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 6/6/2026 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 9am and noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Visit our Foster to Adopt Program page to learn more. ---- This pet is currently undergoing treatment for heartworm disease. Activity must be restricted for several weeks during recovery. RSR will cover the full cost of treatment. RSR will provide heartworm preventatives until the retest is due. The adopter will be responsible for scheduling the retest and obtaining any follow-up prescriptions through their veterinarian.

Story
Meet Captain Crumbs, though he happily answers to just Crumbs! This sweet 3-year-old dachshund-terrier mix is the perfect size for tagging along on errands and everyday adventures. He’s a silly, gentle-hearted boy with a curious spirit and a nice medium energy level. Whether you’re inside or out in the yard, Crumbs loves being your sidekick and keeping you company. Exploring the outdoors and going for walks are some of his favorite things. Crumbs gets along well with the small dogs in his foster home but would also be perfectly happy as your one and only. When it’s time to relax, he’s all about cozying up, either curled next to you, on your lap, or stretched out on a soft blanket on the couch. He crates easily, sleeps quietly through the night, and keeps his space clean. He is potty trained. Because of his curiosity, he’s crated when left alone; he may bark at first but settles down. Due to that initial barking, he’s not the best fit for apartment living. Crumbs isn’t overly vocal but will join in with other dogs or alert you to visitors or activity outside. He’s still settling into his foster home, but he’s already shown that he’s a smart boy who responds well to gentle guidance. He’ll thrive in a home that continues to provide structure, patience, and outlets for his inquisitive nature. If you’re looking for a sweet, curious, silly sidekick then look no further: Crumbs is your man! ---- This pet is currently undergoing treatment for heartworm disease. Story
Biscuit Gremlin came into rescue as a stray alongside three other dogs who were all in terrible condition. He was extremely underweight and completely covered in mange when he arrived. Once he realized people could be kind, he became a very easy and fun little dog to care for. Biscuit will need a patient adopter who understands shy dogs and will allow him time to decompress and build trust. He can be barky with new people and keeps his distance at first, but he settles down quickly once he realizes he is safe. Because of this, he would probably do best in a home without young children. He would also benefit from someone willing to continue working on leash skills and basic confidence-building. Treats go a very long way with him! Biscuit is basically a tiny circus dog when treats are involved. He gets so excited and animated and will happily perform all kinds of silly jumps and spins. He also gets a treat every time he goes into his kennel, which he now runs into happily. He loves zooming around the yard and, while he isn’t overly clingy, he will randomly hop into your lap for attention when he’s feeling affectionate. Biscuit’s biggest challenge is learning to trust new people and becoming more confident in unfamiliar situations. With good food, medical care, and patience, he has transformed into a happy, healthy little dog. Now he needs a home of his own! Biscuit Gremlin is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 06/06/2026 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 9am and noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Story
Little Nugget is exactly what his name promises—a true gem. This gentle, calm, and sensitive boy has the sweetest soul and an easygoing nature that makes him a joy to have around. With a low to medium energy level, Nugget is perfectly content whether he’s playing with toys, chewing on a bone, or simply lounging nearby. He loves other dogs and does especially well taking their cues, always respectful of their space. Their companionship helps him feel confident, and he would thrive in a home with a similarly mellow dog friend. Though he can be a bit submissive at first, Nugget warms up quickly and is happy to make new friends. He’s wonderfully low maintenance—quiet, non-destructive, and perfectly trustworthy when left out of his kennel. He’s fully potty trained, sleeps soundly through the night in his crate, and patiently waits for meals and treats like a perfect gentleman. Nugget enjoys the simple things: napping in the sunshine, following his people (or his dog friends) from room to room, going for walks, and soaking up affection. If you pause the pets, don’t be surprised if he gently taps you with his paw to ask for more. He’s also incredibly tolerant of grooming—baths, nail trims, and ear cleanings are no problem (though he’s still working on getting used to tooth brushing). Nugget comes with a little extra charm, too. He has a mild neurological quirk that may cause a tiny head shake when he’s focusing hard and a slightly crooked trot—but it’s purely cosmetic and doesn’t slow him down one bit. If anything, it just makes him even more endearing—especially when he breaks into happy little zoomies. Easygoing, loving, and quietly devoted, Nugget is the kind of dog who will bring warmth and comfort to any home lucky enough to have him.
