Meet Lucita! Or as her fosters call her Lucy/Lucy Lou/Potato Lucita made the trip to Minnesota from Mexico in March 2026 after being found with milk but no puppies. At 3 years old, Lucita is a sturdy 27 lb "daschund mix" who prefers to spin through life- she's fully capable of walking straight she just prefers to spin. The more comfortable and relaxed she is the less she spins. Speaking of preferences- Lucita prefers humans over other animal companions. In her foster home she peacefully co-exists with 2 dogs and 3 cats- she would be fine joining a household with other animals but is unlikely to be a playmate. She tends to go into "mommy mode" and be the fun police when other dogs are playing. Another quirk of Lucitas is her underbite- because of the way her teeth lined up it was necessary to remove 17 teeth. She is still able to eat kibble and treats now that she is fully healed- though she does love wet food...or really all food..she's not picky! Lucita is perfectly content to curl up on the couch with you or in your bed but she will also accompany you on walks. She is semi-potty trained- as long as you stick to a routine accidents are minimal, though with focused attention she can definitely be fully potty trained. She quiets down in her kennel and rides well in a car. Lucita excels at telling you when you aren't giving her enough attention- she will stare at you and give a little whine. When playtime hits she can get a little spunky and will do adorable hops and pounce on toys- she can get a little mouthy so older children are recommended although with no teeth in front now she mainly gums you. Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Alfred, or “Alfie” for short, is a sweet chi mix whose little life didn’t get off to a great start and is still working on trusting his surroundings. He loves to play with other dogs his own size and after a good romp will curl up in the same bed for naptime together. While he is wary of new people, he is quickly learning that belly pets are kind of a great thing. He has even learned that if he climbs the pet steps it leads to the foster’s comfy bed where he can snuggle right in! Due to his skittish temperament, it is recommended Alfie be placed in a home with children over the age of 10. Also, because of his deep connection with other dogs, Alfie NEEDS to be placed in a household with another canine friend. A few facts about Alfie: His favorite game is tug. Bring it on! He LOVES to snuggle….with other dogs and in cozy places. We think with time and patience, he will actually be a real snuggle bug! Alfie comes to you housetrained. No accidents! He will bark when excited but is not overly vocal. While he isn’t afraid of a kennel, he is not considered kennel trained. Alfie has not been cat tested and his prey drive is unknown. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption. Hi! My name is Relish and I'm from Alabama! Relish’s tiny little body is just overflowing with love! She is the sweetest puppy and just wants to love on her humans. She does amazing with her human foster kids, and is very tolerant of being picked up and carried around, and even follows behind them wherever they go. She is very sweet and respectful of her dog foster siblings as well, and is definitely more submissive and passive with them. (No experience with cats but I imagine she would do great with them as well.) Hearing other dogs bark scares her, but she’s getting better every day with not running and hiding from new sounds. She does amazing in the car and is very “go-with-the-flow.” She is doing great with potty training and sleeps well in her crate at night- she just needs to make sure her people are near every now and then. :) She is just a gem!

Hi, my name is Chili and I am from Alabama! Chili has been a joy to foster! She is a happy-go-lucky little girl that loves toys, bones, sticks and playing with our resident dog. She has only had one accident in the house, but she is on a regular schedule. Chili is not quite ready for walks but she loves to hang out in the back yard, lay in the sun as well as sit in the chairs and nap. She is still a little dog in a big world so some loud noises (and big dog barks) send her for cover. Chili is kenneled for about 5 hours max per day and over night. She is just OK with it but does settle down. She sleeps great in her little beds and likes having a home base. She is definitely still a puppy with all the puppy traits but she has the makings of a great companion!
