Meet Joyful Johnny!  He is a wonderful little chiweenie boy who is 3 years old and about 15 lbs.  Johnny is a fun loving little guy who is good with dogs of all sizes and ages.  He also loves people and just wants to be with you.  Johnny loves to play and has a big time running and playing with his foster brothers and sisters.  They have a nice fenced in area where they can safely play.  When not playing Johnny is always up for a movie or a ballgame.  He came from a bad situation where he was not taken care of at all.  He and his sister June (a boxer) were surrendered to a rural Tennessee shelter,  Johnny showed no signs of being neglected but June was in rough shape.  She is now in a great foster home too and well on her way to recovery.  Johnny would make a great addition to an active home with another similar size and age dog to play with.  He is trained to a doggie door so might need some help with his house manners if you don't have one.  He eats in his crate and is not picky about his food.  Johnny is a happy go lucky guy who just makes you smile.  He is schedule to be neutered and microchipped on 2/13.  He is already current on all his shots.  He will then be ready to travel to his forever home.  To be considered for Johnny's forever family and to request an application please contact Vivienne at viviennejames@comcast.net.  ARRPOVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.  (Johnny is currently in Tennessee but can be transported north upon adoption.)June 9, 2023, 11:06 am

Meet Mr. Oakley!!  This sweet gentleman is 10 years old and he weighs 24 lbs.  He has begun his weight watchers program and will soon be loosing some weight.  We suspect that table food has been part of Oakley's regular diet.  Well no more!  If he could loose at least 5 lbs he would be much better off.  An overweight dachshund is prone to back issues and we definitely want to prevent that.  He needs a family that will take him for walks and continue his diet plan.  Oakley gets along well with other dogs and loves his foster brothers and sisters.  He likes to hang out with them in his foster mom's fenced in yard.  He is great with people and will go up to you immediately to be petted.  Oakley is content to lay beside you but does like to go wherever you go.  He is not needy.  Just wants to see where you are.  This super sweet boy is also good with cats!!  He would be better in a home with older children, 7-8 years old.  No toddlers.  Since we suspect people food contributed to his weight we don't want to tempt him with someone walking around with food.  Plus this older gentleman deserves a quiet home.  A experienced dachshund family would be best for this great guy.  Oakley is neutered, current on all his shots and microchipped.  To be considered for his forever family and to request an application please contact Vivienne at viviennejames@comcast,net.  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.  (Oakley is currently in Tennessee but can be transported north upon adoption.)June 9, 2023, 11:06 am

Meet the cutest trio of brothers, Gary, Gerald, and Gino! These 8 week old boys were found on their own in Forrest City, AR and ended up at the humane society. They each have really fun, laid back personalities. Gary is the smallest of the 3, weighing in at about 3lbs as of today, June 5th. He is tiny, adorable, and chill, as you can see in his picture. All he wants to do is snuggle! Gerald (black and white) is also a relaxed little dude. He plays and then is usually the first to saunter off and take a nap. Gino might be the chillest of them all—kind of observes when his brothers and foster siblings get rowdy. He likes to play, but doesn’t get too involved. He has a fluffy coat and loves to be petted. Each brother has a distinct personality, but they all love to snuggle. These boys will be the perfect match for the folks who are lucky enough to adopt them! He has that determined stubborn doxie spirit that only a true dachshund lover could appreciate and needs an experienced adult home. He will have his moments when he wants to be left alone- when eating especially don’t mess with him. He was not a fan of the vet either, and while he doesn’t seem to mind meeting other dogs, doesn’t like sharing his people and stuff with them so is best living as an only pet.
