Story
Charming CHAMP is a middle-aged guy who likes mellow walks and quiet time with his human. He LOVES to snuggle and at 15 lbs he fits wonderfully in a lap. We estimate him to be a Dachshund / Terrier mix and about 7-9 years old. He would do best in a quiet household without children or other pets. Champ can be very protective of his people and home, so he would prefer to be your one and only - no other pets or children. Any interested applicants will need to come to the shelter to spend some time with him before adoption to understand his behaviors and how to best support him to have a happy home. The volunteers at ARF love him to bits and know he will be a wonderful buddy for the right person!

Story
Meet Lola! This very sweet and spunky girl is very skittish and distrustful with new people, but has really blossomed in her foster home. We believe she is a Chihuahua/Dachshund mix and has many personality traits that we think will appeal to the Chihuahua people out there. This girl is not only beautiful, but is also housebroken, crate trained and knows several commands. She'd also be perfect for those hot summer months and cold winter months, since though she loves to be outside, she's not super fond of lengthy walks. Once she chooses her person and bonds she's silly, playful, cuddly and loyal, the perfect work from home companion who loves to sit on your lap and help with whatever you are doing. She's not a fan of other animals, children, or strangers especially men although she's been able to make friends with them if they ignore her at first and offer lots of yummy treats- intros have to be slow and on her terms. If you like quirky but lovable little dogs, please submit an application to meet her. Primary Color: Tan Age: 2yrs 4mths 3wks

***GLIMMER AND TOFU ARE LOCATED IN A FOSTER HOME IN SCHENECTADY, NY - Now that they have arrived to the NE, approved adopter must be willing to drive to Schenectady, NY to meet/pick up*** Super duper small breed alerts!! Rough and tough and…. Ha who are we kidding. These babies are everything but that. Whitney – 1 year old – female – 5.6 lbs – Fully grown – Darker color Glimmer – 1 year old – female – 5.0 lbs – Fully grown – All white Tofu – 10 weeks old – female – 3.0 lbs – Glimmers puppy – All white Mist – 10 weeks old – male – 5.5 lbs – Glimmers Puppy – All white These furry babies came from a hoarding situation where they were not well taken care of. Thanks to a foster of ours, we were able to help these 4 babies out of that situation, into a temporary, loving foster home. Are they all good with other dogs? YES! They came from a house with 20+ dogs and they get along great with the current foster’s dogs’ Are they good with cats? Yes! Cats are all bigger than they are. Kids? The puppies would be wonderful with children. The adults are a bit shy at first but come around and are very sweet Do they bark? Only when they’re super playful or see dogs/cats they don’t know yet. They do not bark at just the air, like some are known for House trained? Mist and Tofu are not house trained. Glimmer and Whitney are working on crate training. Will do great with one-on-one time and patience. They all love being held, it makes them feel safe. Mist and Tofu love playing with toys and are quite outgoing. All four have a habit of taking blankets from the others dog’s crates and trying to hoard them for themselves. Be aware of the blanket thieves! Whitney and Glimmers ideal home would be one that is patient, kind and has another dog for them to help them gain confidence. If there are no other dogs in the home, someone that is home and willing to socialize with them properly to ensure they continue to thrive and come out of their shells. They would do great with gentle, older children. Tofu and Mist are only puppies and would thrive in a home that is a bit more active. These puppies may be small, but they are mighty. They love to play with their toys and run around. They are not shy babies. We don’t believe these pups will get over 10 lbs, especially since mom is only 5 lbs! Adoption Fee Includes: Whitney/Glimmer – Spayed, current on annual vaccinations (Bordatella, rabies, parvo/distemper), heart worm negative, current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, dewormed, microchipped and includes transport cost from Texas to the East Coast. Tofu/Mist – Current on Bordatella, 2 sets of parvo/distemper vaccinations, current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, dewormed, microchipped and includes transport cost from Texas to the East Coast. Story
Meet Buggy Buggy is a one-year-old female dachshund pug mix weighing 15 pounds, and she is truly the best of both worlds. She is playful, happy, and full of personality, but just as content curling up on the couch for a good snuggle. Arriving in New Jersey on February 1, Buggy gets along wonderfully with dogs, cats, and kids, making her an easy fit for many types of homes. She loves to play and can go hard when it is time for fun, but she also knows how to settle down and relax with her people. She is doing well with house habits and will use a pee pad if she is not let outside quickly enough. Buggy is affectionate, adaptable, and has no bad habits to report. She is simply a sweet, loving girl looking for a family to call her own. If you are searching for a small, friendly companion who brings both energy and cuddles, Buggy may be the perfect match for you. Story
Located in Tennessee but can be transported to you through Rescue Riders. This girl was brought in with babies when her owner couldn't take care of her. She was not socialized very well so will need some work. She will need a very patient person to get her to come out of her shell. She was kept outside so she has no house manners, nor has she been with cats. She does do well with dogs her size and seems to like to play with them. She deserves a new chance to be a loved dog and companion. She will take a lot of time and investment but deserves a chance!

Story
Hi, I’m Livie! I’m a 16 pound 2-year-old Doxie/Mountain Cur mix with a soft heart and an even softer spot for being close to you. I came from a property with lots of other dogs, so I’m used to having furry friends around and I enjoy their company. At first, I can be just a tiny bit shy when I meet new people, but it doesn’t last long. Once I realize you’re kind, I come out of my shell. Everyone who spends time with me says I’m super, super sweet and such a gentle girl. I just love to be loved! I’m also best friends with Leah, who is looking for her forever home too. I’d do wonderfully in a calm, loving home where I can continue to build my confidence and be someone’s loyal companion. If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate girl who will adore you with her whole heart, I think id be a paw-fect addition to your family. Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://www.anewchancear.org/adopt/our-adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://www.anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.
