She loves to snuggle and wants to be with you at all times. She still has lots of puppy energy and loves to romp and play. She is such a little lover and she never turns down a good belly rub. She would make the perfect lap dog! Although she is great with children, due to her small size we are not comfortable placing her in a home with children under the age of 7. She would make a great addition to just about any family! She is currently located down South at our sister shelters and available for pre-adoption. We do transports to NJ once a month. Meet Lola! This very sweet and spunky girl is very skittish and distrustful with new people, but has really blossomed in her foster home. We believe she is a Chihuahua/Dachshund mix and has many personality traits that we think will appeal to the Chihuahua people out there. This girl is not only beautiful, but is also housebroken, crate trained and knows several commands. She'd also be perfect for those hot summer months and cold winter months, since though she loves to be outside, she's not super fond of lengthy walks. Once she chooses her person and bonds she's silly, playful, cuddly and loyal, the perfect work from home companion who loves to sit on your lap and help with whatever you are doing. She's not a fan of other animals, children, or strangers especially men although she's been able to make friends with them if they ignore her at first and offer lots of yummy treats- intros have to be slow and on her terms. WISE is entirely volunteer-run and all of the donations made to our rescue go directly back to the animals in our care. By partnering with veterinary practices that support our work, we are able to save animals lives and restore them back to health. While some animals only need standard care, others require more extensive veterinary or behavioral care.Regardless of which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a minimum donation of $850. His new family may need a little patience as he learns that hes safe and loved, but that trust will come with time and consistency. Even now, his curiosity is beginning to shine through, and its clear theres a sweet, thoughtful pup underneath it all. WHY DID THEY COME TO WISE: Fuddy Duddy spent his entire life as a breeding dog in a puppy mill. When his 'breeders' decided they no longer had a use for him, they planned to discard him. Thankfully, WISE was able to step in and rescue him giving him a second chance to experience the love and warmth of a real home. Now hes ready to start that new chapter!Personality: Fuddy Duddy is an incredibly sweet dog with the most expressive eyes. He shows no aggressive behavior at all, but he is still very nervous and learning to feel safe. He enjoys running down the hallway and exploring the apartment, letting his curiosity peek through, even though getting physically close to him can still be a challenge. Petting moments are becoming more frequent, but when he feels unsure, he often retreats to his crate, which is his safe space.
