💛🐾 TEDDY 🐾💛 “Same Teddy. One more chapter. Still looking for his people.” Meet Teddy. At 10 months old, Teddy is a Dachshund mix with a big personality, a big heart, and absolutely no shortage of opinions about where he would like to be: with his people. This little guy has had a couple of false starts in life, but here's what we know for sure: Teddy is a really, really good dog. He loves people. He loves other dogs. He loves car rides. He knows his commands. He's kennel trained. And he genuinely enjoys being part of a family. Teddy originally came to us as a puppy and was adopted into a home. Unfortunately, the household environment became stressful for him and he developed a significant fear of one family member. His family worked to help him, but ultimately the situation wasn't the right fit for Teddy, and he's now back with us. And that's okay. Because Teddy isn't broken. He's not a bad dog. He's not a difficult dog. He's a young dog who needs the right environment to feel safe and confident. When Teddy feels comfortable, you see the real guy. The happy guy. The playful guy. The guy who heads off to doggie daycare and happily hangs out with his canine friends. The guy who loves attention and wants to know what everyone is doing. The guy who would much rather be riding in the car with you than sitting home wondering where you went. Basically... Teddy is looking for a person with a passenger seat. He would do best in a calmer home with someone who understands that trust is built over time. He doesn't need a circus. He doesn't need a dozen people coming through the door every day. He needs his person. Someone patient. Someone kind. Someone who will let him settle in, learn the routine and discover that he's finally landed somewhere safe. Once that happens, I have a feeling Teddy is going to be one of those dogs who wants to be involved in everything. Laundry? Teddy's available. Netflix? Teddy's watching. Going for a ride? He's already in the car. Another dog wants to play? Excellent. Teddy is now 10 months old, small-to-medium sized, healthy, neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, kennel trained and knows his commands. And he's ready. Not for just any home. For his home. The one where he gets to stop starting over. The one where he gets to finally exhale. The one where he can be goofy, loving, playful Teddy for the rest of his life. 💛🐾 Teddy has been waiting long enough. Let's get this boy home.

He loves to cuddle and will happily follow you around everywhere you go. He is a little nosey and loves to snoop around wherever he has access, keeping things entertaining. Environment Dewey is very content to be left to his own devices and is a happy camper in his crate. He would do well in a home with shared walls as he is not too noisy. A fenced yard is not required for him, as he loves walks and is great on a leash. He is fine riding in the car. Pets & People He can be a bit shy with new people at first, but he warms up quickly and has no issues with biting or snapping. He gets along great with other dogs, playing all the time with his foster brother (though he does bark at other dogs on his walks). He has no resource guarding issues around food. Health & Special Needs Dewey has no medical needs. He uses pee pads but sometimes marks spots in the house, so some patience and continued reinforcement with potty training will be helpful. Louie came to Little Paws as an owner surrender when his previous owner could no longer devote enough time to him due to their schedule. He is an incredibly affectionate boy who loves to give kisses, get the zoomies, and make sure he is touching you at all times. Environment Louie has a medium energy level, enjoying short walks or playtime, and is great on a leash. He will be adopted with Fritz who requires a secure fenced yard due to a high prey drive and flight risk. He considers his crate to be his happy place and is very content when left to his own devices. He is not too noisy and doesn’t bark much. While he is potty trained, he is a bit of a shy pooper and may try to hide or go in the house if he isn't being watched closely outside. Pets & People Louie is very bonded with his brother Fritz. He is exceptionally sweet with his foster family and during transport, though he hasn't been tested with strangers yet. He loves attention and will playfully nip when he gets super excited, sometimes giving a drive-by foot lick. He is highly food motivated and can eat quickly, occasionally trying to push Fritz away from his food, so he requires supervision and guidance during mealtimes. Health & Special Needs Louie's foster noted that he is a bit bowlegged but it doesn’t seem to cause any issues. He lays down and is very relaxed during car rides. Dogs: all (prefers another playful dachshund) Other: requires twice-daily anxiety medication Overview Meet Libby, an adorable 2-year-old, 9.8-pound mini Red Boar Dachshund with a huge heart. Libby came to Little Paws after her previous owners gave her away on Facebook. Though she needs a little time to settle in, she is a wonderful, affectionate companion who loves to play and is a fantastic cuddler when sleeping with you at night. Environment Libby has high energy and loves daily walks and playtime. She is a great walker on a leash and loves exploring the outdoors. She would love a fenced yard to run and play safely, but would do well if exercised regularly on a leash and harness. Because she can be quite chatty and bark loudly when strangers approach, she is not suitable for living arrangements with shared walls like apartments or townhomes. She relies on pee pads and is not currently crate trained, crying the entire time if placed in a kennel. Pets & People Libby does wonderfully with other dogs of all sizes and loves playing with her foster's 2-year-old dachshund. Another playful dog in the home helps greatly with her anxiety and would be her ideal setup. With people, Libby needs about two days to warm up and prefers women, as men have not always been kind to her in her past. We will not place her with small children. While she barks loudly at strangers to protect herself, she has done wonderfully at large adoption events when given patience and time. She can be greedy with treats and eats separately from other pets. Health & Special Needs Libby is currently on anxiety medication which she needs to take twice a day, though her foster believes she may be able to wean off of them once she settles into a stable forever home. He is a rambunctious, happy little boy who loves going on walks and will make you smile every morning—especially with his quirky habit of spinning around at least three times before doing his business! Environment Mylo has a high energy level and loves daily walks and playtime, walking great on a leash. He will try to escape so gates at doors are a must. He also has some prey drive tendencies towards birds. An adopter must be aware of these tendencies and keep him secure and safe, whether on a leash and harness or a fenced yard. Mylo uses a pen when left alone and handles it well, but he will whine (quietly) a little at first. Because he is generally quiet, he is suitable for living arrangements with shared walls. Pets & People Mylo does amazingly well with other dogs, matching their energy and respecting their space, though he may bark at male dogs on walks. With people, he is cautious at first but quickly melts into a loving mush, enjoying snuggling and putting his entire face on yours. This sweet 3-year-old long-haired red mix is game for just about anything life has to offer, as long as she gets to be part of it. Betsy came to Little Paws after the heartbreaking loss of her owner. She deserves nothing less than a loving forever home, and she's ready to pour every bit of her affection into the right family—she’s waiting with many kisses. Environment Betsy has moderate energy levels and loves her daily adventures. She happily keeps pace with big dogs on woodland walks and is a joy on leash. She'll need a securely fenced yard to roam and burn off that enthusiasm. She uses pee pads indoors and is still working toward fully outdoor potty habits, so patience and consistency will help her get there. S he is currently gated into a large area when left alone. When her foster leaves, she does protest. She's happiest with canine housemates around. Because she can be chatty, she'll do best in a home without shared walls. Betsy is also currently on a weight management plan; a combination of regular exercise and a weight control diet is already showing results, and she just needs to shed a few more pounds to reach her healthy weight. Her new family will want to keep that momentum going. Pets & People Betsy has settled into a multi-dog household. She's social with her canine crew but would do best with a dog her size and around her age. She's a little rambunctious for older and smaller dogs. With people, she can be wary when meeting strangers on the street. She does have some separation anxiety so someone home more often than not would be ideal.
