contact foster parent at Wendy.V.Torres@gmail.comMeet Dudley, a little warrior with a heart full of courage and a spirit that knows no bounds. At the age of 7, Dudley has already shown the world his unwavering determination to find a place to call his own. This brave Dachshund mix has embarked on a journey that speaks volumes about his resilience and the unbreakable spark within him.Dudley`s tale began when a compassionate community member reached out to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Care & Control. Dudley, with his soulful eyes and endearing personality, had captured their heart. It wasn`t just his appearance that made Dudley stand out; it was his persistence in seeking refuge that truly touched the heartstrings.Time and again, Dudley would run from the front door to the back, as if trying to escape a haunting memory from his past. His actions were a silent plea for safety, a plea that didn`t go unnoticed. When the rescuer arrived, Dudley`s eyes lit up with hope, and his tail wagged with pure happiness. He knew that his quest for a forever home was one step closer to fulfillment.Dudley`s journey has left its marks – evident in the patches of missing hair on his back. These bare spots tell a story of challenges faced and battles fought. Despite the tough start, Dudley`s spirit remains unbroken. He embodies the triumph of resilience over adversity, and his missing hair is a testament to his strength. Now, Dudley is on the lookout for a loving home where he can finally lay down his worries and rest his tired paws. With his adorable appearance and an indomitable spirit, Dudley is ready to offer his new family a world of loyalty, companionship, and unwavering love. He may be a little older in years, but his heart is young, full of hope, and ready to embrace the warmth of a loving home.If you`re seeking a faithful companion who has braved life`s storms and emerged stronger, Dudley is the perfect match. Open your heart and your home to Dudley, and witness the transformation of a brave survivor into a cherished member of your family.

Story
Meet Joyful Johnny!  He is a wonderful little chiweenie boy who is 3 years old and about 15 lbs.  Johnny is a fun loving little guy who is good with dogs of all sizes and ages.  He also loves people and just wants to be with you.  Johnny loves to play and has a big time running and playing with his foster brothers and sisters.  They have a nice fenced in area where they can safely play.  When not playing Johnny is always up for a movie or a ballgame.  He came from a bad situation where he was not taken care of at all.  He and his sister June (a boxer) were surrendered to a rural Tennessee shelter,  Johnny showed no signs of being neglected but June was in rough shape.  She is now in a great foster home too and well on her way to recovery.  Johnny would make a great addition to an active home with another similar size and age dog to play with.  He is trained to a doggie door so might need some help with his house manners if you don't have one.  He eats in his crate and is not picky about his food.  Johnny is a happy go lucky guy who just makes you smile.  He is schedule to be neutered and microchipped on 2/13.  He is already current on all his shots.  He will then be ready to travel to his forever home.  To be considered for Johnny's forever family and to request an application please contact Vivienne at viviennejames@comcast.net.  ARRPOVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.  (Johnny is currently in Tennessee but can be transported north upon adoption.)September 22, 2023, 9:55 am

Story
Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   Date into Rescue: 2/18/2021 Reason for being in rescue: Stray Anderson Foster location: Foster Home in Charleston, SC Special Needs? Darrah has back pain from a previous injury. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm negative. On 5/19/21 Darrah had a dental with 4 extractions. She also had surgery to resect necrotic ear tips. Her ears have healed. Weight: 7.2 lbs Height: 14 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $200 Fence needed? No What kind of home would be best for me? Darrah would like a home where there are low expectations of companionship. She would like to be around people, but would prefer to be left alone. Darrah would like a soft spot to land in quiet home where she can rest quietly. She wouldn't mind another quiet dog pal to keep company. Darrah asks for a crate and access to pee pads because the outside world is big and scary.  What is my personality like? Darrah is pretty anti-social towards humans. She has been let down by people and would like to not be hurt by them anymore. She can be a cranky girl when asked to do something she has zero interest in and interrupts her sleep schedule. If forced, Darrah will snap out of fear and pain.  Darrah came to CPR with a bad back. This is not uncommon with dachshunds. Her condition is stable and we think this drives her anti-social behavior. How do I act when I first meet new people? Darrah would rather not. They can keep walking by and she's just fine with that.  Other tips and tidbits: Darrah's estimated birthday is 2/18/2017. She was found as a stray so we have no background on her.  House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. September 22, 2023, 1:36 pm
