Story
Breeanna is a sweet 1-year-old dachshund mix who weighs around 15 pounds and is ready for her forever home! Breeanna enjoys going for walks and does well on a leash.  She also rides nicely in the car, making her an easy pup to take along on adventures.  At home, she has a playful side and loves squeaky toys, but she truly shines during quiet moments when she can curl up in a warm, fuzzy blanket for snuggle time. She gets along well with other dogs and will do great in a home with canine companions, but will also be perfectly happy as the only dog in the household. Then she can soak up all the love and attention.   Breeanna may be a bit shy when first meeting new people, but with a little patience and reassurance she warms up quickly and soon shows her affectionate, loving personality. She is also crate and house trained and does best with a consistent routine. Breeanna will thrive in a home that can provide exercise, structure, and a safe environment.  If you’re looking for a small dog with a big heart who enjoys both playtime and peaceful cuddle sessions Breeanna could be the perfect match for you.  She’s ready to bring love, comfort, and companionship to the lucky family who welcomes her home.   If you are interested in adopting Breeanna, please submit an inquiry directly to Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. The adoption amount is a suggested donation of $200 to $300 dollars based on the pet's age.   **Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to pick up the pet as soon as they are approved to adopt. **January 27, 2026, 5:48 pm

Story
Rosie came to us from a rural county shelter. She was surrendered to them after being found in a Walmart parking lot. She is approximately 1 year old, already spayed, dachshund mix. Rosie weighs about 24 lbs and is up to date on all vaccines. Rosie's ideal household would be one with lots of love and attention. Rosie loves to use her nose to sniff around outside and is housebroken. She is content cuddling next to you on the couch or going for an afternoon stroll. Rosie's current foster reports that she is house trained and will go to the door when she needs to relieve herself. The foster home that Rosie is currently in has both dogs and cats. Rosie can be timid when meeting new people and new animals. She warms up quickly with pets and treats.

Very sweet 3 year old girl. Absolutely no issues other than wanting lots of love and attention. Needs a ramp due to her short legs and on the heavy size. But an absolute sweetheart 💕. I have health issues which makes it difficult to give her the attention she so very much deserves.

Story
Meet Professor Bentley Professor Bentley is a 1½-year-old, purebred long-haired Dachshund weighing in at a petite 6 pounds—but don’t let his size fool you, this little guy has a lot of personality! Bentley is funny, comical, and absolutely convinced he belongs in your arms at all times. If you’d let him, he’d happily be held all day long. He thrives on affection and truly wants to be the center of attention, so a home where someone is around often would be his dream come true. He gets along great with other dogs and listens well. Bentley is crate trained and doing well with house-training—he’s still polishing those skills, but he’s a smart boy and eager to please. He also rides great in the car and loves being your little sidekick. Like many small dogs, Bentley can show a bit of “little dog attitude” now and then, so an experienced dog owner would be the best fit to help him continue to grow into his best self. Because of his size and personality, he would do best in a home with older children or adults only. If you’re looking for a devoted companion who can’t get close enough to you and will keep you smiling with his antics, Professor Bentley may just be the perfect match.   Applications can be filled out at www.piedmontanimalrescue.com/adopt!  Petfinder and Adopt-A-Pet does NOT send us Applications.   We receive many applications and many never respond after processing GREATLY delaying the pets forever home.  Please only apply if you are serious about adopting.  Please also make sure your pets are up to date on you species applicable Vaccines (rabies, Distemper/Parvo, FVRCP, Bordetella), spayed/neutered, and on Heartworm prevention if a canine.   The adoption fee includes their age appropriate vaccinations(DA2PP and Bordetella), Dewormer, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test as well as the registration of their microchip information to you. The first step to adopting is to fill out an application for adoption. Once approved we will arrange a time for you to meet the animal you are interested in. If it is a match the adoption can then be completed and you can take home your new furry family member. If it is not a match we will file your approved application and you can wait till you find the perfect match. ##2636675##
