You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Guthrie is the sweetest little guy.  He’s extremely laid back except for mealtimes and when he’s on squirrel patrol.  We don’t know his history, only that when he  arrived at a local pound he was in pretty rough shape.  He was so badly matted that he had to be anesthetized to get shaved down.  It’s obvious that he did not have the best life before that, but that’s all changed for him now.   When he first arrived at his foster home, he marked his territory a lot.  There are three other dogs there and I suppose he just wanted to communicate that he belonged here too.  He’s over that now, but there’s a good chance that behavior could resurface for a bit if he goes to another home with other dogs.  (He does get along with other dogs just fine, other than that.)    Our little Guthrie also struggled with being in a cage while his foster mom was away.  He finally grew to tolerate it, but would be stressful for him. So she decided to stop crating him and see how he did.  He is doing great!  He is perfectly behaved while foster mama isn’t home.     We have him marked as “special needs” because we believe his hearing isn’t 100%.   He’s nowhere near deaf, but sometimes you have to use your outside voice when trying to get his attention.   Guthrie is a really good boy and really, really deserves a better life than he’s undoubtedly had in the past.  He’s smart.  When he understands what you want him to do, he will try his best to do it.  He’s very food-motivated, which is a huge plus for training!  And if you haven’t already noticed, he’s also very cute!   Want a cuddle buddy when you’re on the couch watching TV?  Guthrie’s your guy!  It’s his favorite pastime. He’s very good-natured and easy-going.  Except for maybe when it comes to the critter-type trespassers.  Guthrie would love a chance to be your boy!   He promises to protect your property from the threat of all squirrels, both foreign and domestic!   You can easily fill out an adoption application by clicking here:  adoption application  .   For those viewing on Petfinder, if you are interested in adopting this animal please click on More About Rose's Rescue, you may fill out adoption application from there. Story
Luna is a 6-year-old black Lab–Dachshund mix and an absolute cuddle bug. She’s incredibly loving and thrives on affection. Her only challenge is anxiety around unfamiliar dogs. She has had three past incidents involving other dogs, which we believe stem from being attacked by a German Shepherd as a puppy. That said, Luna does very well with dogs she knows and has never shown any aggression toward our other dog. She is excellent with children and has never displayed even the slightest aggression toward people. At this stage in our lives, with the demands of caring for our children, we’re no longer able to give our dogs the time and attention they deserve.
