Story
Hi my name is Cookee, and I'm the sweetest treat of a pup that you'll ever meet. People say I remind them of cookies and cream when I give them sweet kisses on the nose or bump up and snuggle with them when they're feeling down. I am a Dachshund-Basset mix and medium sized about 30# full grown. Sitting on people's couches or laps is my favorite pastime as I get to snuggle close to the people I love, which is practically everyone! I LOVE OTHER DOGS TOO!! I definitely want a home with other dogs :) As I am a bit on the older side and lived on the streets until I was saved with my babies in my tummy. I have been living at my foster home and am ready for my forever HOME!! I will need a patient and loving family to give me a good life of exercise- LOL, playtime, treats, love, affection, and belonging. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)

Story
In the heart of bustling San Antonio, where the streets echoed with the sounds of city life, there lived two inseparable companions named Judas Priest and Iron Maiden. They were a unique pair of dachshund/terrier mixes, each with their distinctive personalities and a bond that could weather any storm. Judas Priest, with his soulful brown eyes and a heart as warm as the Texan sun, was the elder of the two. His silky coat shimmered like polished bicolored metal :), and his gentle disposition made him the perfect match for his spirited partner. Iron Maiden, on the other hand, was a whirlwind of energy with a coat as dark as midnight. Her playful nature and boundless enthusiasm for life were contagious. Together, they were a yin and yang, perfectly complementing each other in every way. Their story began on the mean streets of San Antonio, where they faced the harsh realities of life as strays. Despite the odds, they had each other, and their unwavering love and support kept them going through thick and thin. One fateful day, a kind-hearted passerby noticed the inseparable duo, huddled together for warmth beneath a tattered cardboard box. Touched by their devotion and the spark of hope in their eyes, the Good Samaritan decided to rescue them from the streets. Judas Priest and Iron Maiden soon found themselves in a loving foster home, where they flourished. They were house trained, well-behaved, and showered their foster family with affection. However, it was clear that their bond was unbreakable, and they simply couldn't bear to be apart. Judas Priest and Iron Maiden bring boundless joy and endless laughter to their foster home, proving that love, loyalty, and the unbreakable bond between two souls could overcome even the toughest of beginnings. They are now ready for YOUR HOME!!! Adopt these two and you will seal the deal for them for the rest of their lives :) Local adoption fee is $400 (together in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $800 (together and includes transport to your area, $50 temporary fuel fee will be included)

Story
JR is located in TEXAS. There are not enough homes for all the unwanted dogs down there, so he is willing to relocate for a good, loving, forever home. We think that JR is a Dachshund/Rat terrier mix. He is shy and sweet but the terrier does come out once in a while when another dog does something he doesn't like. We are fairly certain he is still under a year of age - maybe even 6 or 7 months. He weighs 17 pounds. JR was absolutely terrified in the dog pound but is flourishing in his foster home. In the beginning, he stayed close to his foster mom but now he is starting to play with the other dogs. He prefers to play with smaller dogs and is still wary of the big ones. JR is crate-trained. He sleeps in a crate at night and is crated when his foster has to leave the house. JR is not house-trained and will wear a male wrap - although he sometimes gets it off - normally with the help of one of the other dogs. He is still young and needs general obedience training. He learns quickly and is fairly well-behaved in the house. JR must be in the house as a loved member of the family. He must be walked on a leash and must have a secure, fenced yard to run and play. JR is healthy. He is neutered, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. He is negative for heartworms and receives monthly heartworm and flea prevention. JR's out-of-state adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport to the Pittsburgh area. He is being fostered in Texas and cannot be transported until after he is adopted.
