You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Little Guthrie was caught on the streets of Youngstown by some good Samaritans and taken to the pound. He was so deeply matted that he had to be anesthetized so he could be shaved down.  His teeth were rotten and we will see how many he will have left after he gets a much needed dental soon.  Whatever his previous life was, he did not get the care needed.   The other hurdle we are trying to help him overcome is that he will not hold his urine for extended periods of time.  He keeps his belly band dry at night, and doesn’t have accidents if someone is around and lets him out every few hours or so, but when his foster mom is gone and puts one on him, he will wet in his belly band.  If he’s crated, he will rub his little nose red trying to get out.  We are working on this situation, but he may just need to wear bands whenever his owners leaves and have them changed when they come home.  We suspect part of the neglect he experienced previously was having to wear them all the time and not changing them if they became soiled.  It may just be what got accustomed to after his former owner couldn’t or simply didn’t take him outside and that’s all he knows how to do.  A forever home where someone is around most of the time would be ideal for our little man. Other than that, Guthrie’s a sweet old guy still got quite a bit spunkiness when the mood strikes him   - especially when his person comes home or at mealtime.  He loves his foster mama, long naps on the couch and treats!   Does this little guy sound like someone you could open your heart and home to?  We expect him to be recovered from his dental and ready to be adopted in mid-December. Questions can be emailed to rescue@mbrohio.com Born around 6/5/2025, Coconut is an adorable 25-pound Dachshund mix with enough energy, attitude, and charm to power a small city. She’s dog- and kid-friendly, hasn’t met cats yet, and thinks every day is a party—and she’s the host. This girl is vocal in her crate, but she keeps it clean and sleeps through the night. She’s still working on potty training, but she learns fast and already knows “sit.” Coconut is wildly food-motivated, has zero respect for personal space, and will happily climb over you to steal a bite of your sandwich. Coconut loves every toy ever, adores playing with other dogs that can match her energy, and is obsessed with her people—following them everywhere and snuggling every chance she gets. She does bark at strange sounds or people in the dark until she realizes they are friends, and she can be jumpy and underfoot—but that’s all part of her hilarious, high-spirited charm. Like most puppies, Coconut would benefit from training classes to polish her manners and leash skills. Coconut is a joyful, chaotic, lovable whirlwind looking for a family who appreciates a whole lot of spunk and a whole lot of heart. If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, the first thing to do is submit an application for approval. All dogs available for adoption are in foster homes. Please do not visit the rescue location as it is a privately run boarding, training, & grooming facility. Individual meet and greets are scheduled by appointment only for approved adopters. This adorable little lady is dog-, cat-, and kid-friendly, fully housebroken, and crate trained. she really checks all the boxes! Layla is playful and gentle, happily zooming around the house and dropping a toy in your lap when she’s ready for a game of fetch. She loves snuggling just as much as she loves playing, and her sweet spirit fills every room she’s in. She is currently heartworm positive and undergoing treatment, fully paid for by the rescue, and is expected to make a complete recovery with no lasting effects. Layla will have restricted activity during her treatment that will need to be strictly followed. Even on restricted activity, Layla remains her joyful, loving self — just a little extra cuddly as she heals. Continuing routine heartworm tests and monthly prevention will be important for her future health.Layla would love nothing more than to spend the holidays with a family who will cherish her as much as she’ll adore them. This is Bella, she is approximately 10-12yrs old. Shes never been around children and has only had 1 owner, he recently passed and I am trying to help find her a new forever home. She is an extremely sweet dog, loves to play, and loves to cuddle. She is currently spending her time with 1 other dog. They get along really good. She is house trained. With her age, I would recommend a home that is gentle.
