Story
We adopted Marlee when she was 6 months old. She is a sweet girl who needs someone who is home more than we are and who can play and walk her. She loves walks, being challenged, and is very smart. She is crate trained and will come with her crate. She loves a routine and is very well behaved when on her routine. Marlee would do best in a home where someone is around more often, with no small children. Like many dachshunds, she can be protective and has nipped when startled. She also has allergies that require some attention and regular baths. She will come with her crate and supplies. We want her to go to a home that understands her breed and can give her the time and attention she deserves..

Story
Meet Spot – Your New Trusted Pal!Spot is a male dauschund/terrier mix weighing in at just 11 pounds. He’s approximately 6 years old and came to us as an owner surrender after his previous guardian became ill and could no longer care for him. Now, this sweet little guy is looking for a second chance — and a cozy place to call home.Spot walks beautifully on a leash and keeps his kennel spotless. He’s a quiet, well-mannered boy who doesn’t let the noise or chaos of the shelter ruffle his fur. While he’s not a fan of the summer heat (who is?), he’d love nothing more than to curl up next to you on the couch, basking in the cool AC while you binge your favorite shows. We’re still learning about Spot’s compatibility with other dogs, cats, and children, but so far, he’s shown great potential. He’s calm, respectful, and doesn’t seem bothered by the other dogs at the shelter. As always, a meet-and-greet is required to ensure it’s a perfect match for everyone involved.Spot isn’t just adorable — his personality is every bit as charming. He’s hoping for a calm, loving home where he can be treated like the little prince he is.Spot is available through our Foster-to-Adopt Program, which allows you to foster him in your home while he completes his vetting (including neuter, vaccines, heartworm testing, and microchipping).?? Ready to meet Spot? Email us at dogadoptions@parmashelter.org?? Fill out a dog adoption application online to get started.Spot’s adoption fee is $200.This darling boy won’t be available for long — don’t miss your chance to make him part of your family!
