Story
This sweet, young boy was found running the streets on his own. He had no collar and no microchip and no owner ever came forward to claim him. He is very friendly and very smart and only 13 pounds. We think he is close to a year old. He loves other dogs, cats kids, horses… He never meets a stranger. He will make a great addition to any family and would really love to have another playful fun dog around. If you are Interested In Adopting, please visit Funnyfarmpets.org where you can read all about our rescue and how the adoption process works and find the link to submit the application to adopt. He is fostered in Tennessee And will travel once his vetting is complete in a couple of weeks. His adoption fee is $399 and if he has to be transported out of Tennessee, there will be an additional $200 fee.

Current Location: Gainesville, VA Meet Comet. One ear up. One ear down. Zero chance you forget him. Comet loves being around other dogs and plays happily with his two canine friends. When the other dogs settle, he settles too. He reads the room and matches the vibe, which makes him an easy dog to live with. He enjoys a fenced yard and likes to run around for a bit, then come back inside and relax. His energy stays nicely balanced. He is not a wild child. Calm and steady suits him. A few honest details, because the right match matters. - Still working on house training - Crate trained and sleeps there at night without issues - Slightly timid at first, then very sweet - Treat motivated and enthusiastic. He will absolutely try to sneak the other dogs' treats Comet has a shiny black coat, a low rider dachshund build, and that irresistible one ear up, one ear down look. He is gentle, affectionate, and quietly hilarious. This is a dog who blends into your life rather than taking it over. Calm home. Fenced yard. Dog friends welcome. Comet is ready to cruise straight into his forever home.

Story
Current Location: Strasburg, VA Hello! My name is Lucy! I'm thought to be a Dachshund mix about 2 years old and I currently weigh about 31 pounds - though I am still working on getting my post baby shape back! I'm a sweet gal who enjoys the people I've met so far and I get along very well with the other dogs in the house. I especially enjoy snuggling and will jump up on the couch or recliner to lay next to people. I'm house trained, walk well on a leash and do fine in a crate though my foster family doesn't crate me anymore since I've proven to be trustworthy when left alone at night. I'm microchipped and current on my vaccines and monthly preventatives. I do still need to be spayed, which should happen the first week in January. I am heartworm positive so I need to receive that treatment before I can be adopted and should be able to go to my new home by the end of January. I’m looking for my forever family! Is that with you? If so please click “apply for adoption” or submit an application through the Adopt tab. Let’s get our family started!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Hello My new name is Babe and I LOVE it!!!  I come from the "hoarding" situation.  I'm not sure what that means I just know I come from a REALLY stinky house with a lot of other pups in fact there were 148 of us!!   I like the ranch it is fun and they give us spa days and we eat really good!!!  I'm learning to trust the humans!  They aren't like the ones I lived with before. My foster mom says I will never have to worry again and she will make sure my next home is AMAZING!!!  I am most comfortable when I have another pooch to cuddle with so she said she won't send me to a home without another pup my size and a fenced yard.  That makes me feel really safe!!! REQUIREMENTS MUST have a fenced yard MUST have another small dogVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop! Story
Mia (8 years old) – Bonded with Kony Hi, I’m Mia, an 8-year-old Dachshund with a bouncy personality, a big love for my people, and my sister Kony always right beside me. I’m the more energetic one of our pair—I love little toys, zooming around when I’m excited, and starting playful wrestling matches with my sister. When I’m not bouncing around, I’m happiest sitting in someone’s lap soaking up affection. Kony and I adjusted quickly to our foster home, follow a steady routine, and sleep crated together every night. We’re low-energy overall, potty trained, and easy companions who enjoy mild play followed by lots of naps. I’m friendly with new people, do well with other dogs, and may chase cats if they run—but it’s all part of the game to me. I require frequent head kisses, soft blankets, and lots of love, and I must be adopted together with Kony, because we’ve spent our whole lives side by side and wouldn’t know how to be without each other. 3159 Susquehanna Trail N, York, PA 17406 Kennel #: 3537

Story
Kony (9 years old) – Bonded with Mia Hi, I’m Kony, a 9-year-old Dachshund with a soft soul, a calm heart, and my sister Mia by my side at all times. I’m the more laid-back half of our duo and perfectly content curled up on a cozy blanket, soaking in the quiet moments of the day. Don’t let my relaxed nature fool you—I still have a little spunk and love rolling around on the carpet and wrestling gently with my sister. Mia helps bring out my playful side, and I help keep things calm. We adjusted quickly to our foster home, sleep crated together at night, are fully potty trained, and happily enjoy our routine of naps, meals, and cuddles. I get along well with other dogs, like my space during meals, and may chase cats just for fun—but if they don’t run, I lose interest. I’m happiest when life is simple: soft blankets, gentle affection, and my sister close by. I must be adopted together with Mia, because she’s my comfort, my family, and my heart. 3159 Susquehanna Trail N, York, PA 17406 Kennel #: 3537
