Story
FOSTER UPDATE - Dolla is doing so well - she goes into her crate at night with a small treat and only takes a minute or so before she settles down and sleeps through the night. She loves our kids and everyone she meets. We're working on house-training and she's picking it up really quickly! She loves her toys and loves to play with our resident pup. She's very curious and happy. Tulla and Dolla (also listed) are super new to our family - Paws New England. They were recently roaming free around the mean streets of Memphis - one was hanging out at a chicken place (smart girl) and the other at a motel (also smart girl). Volunteers in the area were able to trap each girl and we got them to the vet right away. The girls were in good health at the vet and received their first vaccines and some general care. They are now safe and sound in a foster home where we will get them ready to travel to New England after their second vaccines (approx. 9-15).We will update their bios as we get to know them but for now they are typical black puppies with some lab and other things mixed in there!!!Name: DollaBreed Mix: Dachshund Beagle Mix (not confirmed) Sex: FemaleAge: 13 weeks as of 9/10Weight: 20 lbs as of 9/10Spayed/Neutered: Too young - Spay/Neuter Contract will be required and strictly enforcedVaccinations:   Puppy vaccines will be up to date - all vaccinations required after adoption are responsibility of adopter.Heartworm: Too young (testing is done at 6 months of age)Housetrained:  Not usuallyMicrochipped: YesLocation of dog currently:  New EnglandPuppy Adoption Fee:  $550.00 (includes spay/neuter surgery rebate of up to $200.00 to be paid to adopter when proof of spay/neuter is provided to Paws New England.   We can provide a list of low costs SN clinics to adopters when requested. ATTENTION PUPPY ADOPTERS:  You will be required to attend training/behavior classes with your new dog unless you are experienced dog owners and your adoption coordinator is comfortable with your experience.  This requirement is for the benefit of you and your puppy so if you experience behavior issues you have a point of contact.  PLEASE - Think long and hard before adopting a puppy - consider the lifestyle change this puppy will come with - he cannot be crated for more than 3-4 hours at a time until he's older, puppy proofing your home will be necessary, puppies scratch and nip so if you have small children, can they handle this?? Training will be so important in this puppy's life, do you have the time??Please consider purchasing this book before adopting.  Perfect Puppy in 7 Days - How to Start Your Puppy Off Right, Sophia Yin, DVM - it is an amazing book that we recommend very highly and have had amazing feedback on.https://www.amazon.com/Perfect-Puppy-Days-Start-Right/dp/0964151871IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. FOSTER UDDATETulla“Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ralToo-ra-loo-ra-liToo-ra-loo-ra-loo-ralThat's an Irish lullaby”While we are not certain if this beautiful pup is Irish, she’s definitely a lullaby. Cuddling with her is soothing and puts you to sleep like a baby.Tulla started her life on the backroads of Memphis, rather than in a loving home with people. She recently arrived to New England and is adjusting quite well with her foster family. She especially loves being with her two Golden Retriever foster brothers and actually needs at least one other friendly, playful dog in her home. The more, the merrier! Tulla is a bit timid when meeting new people and benefits from being around other dogs. They give her confidence and a feeling of safety being in their presence . Her new canine family member will continue to show her the ropes of being a dog. Some of Tulla’s favorite things:•being near her family members •running and playing chase with dogs•car rides*Pup Cups•tug•chewing bones•laying in the sunNo city life for this girl-too much noise and commotion. Tulla would thrive in an active home with another dog(s) that would include her in everything. ********************************Tulla and Dolla (also listed) are super new to our family - Paws New England. They were recently roaming free around the mean streets of Memphis - Tulla was hanging out at a chicken place (smart girl) and Dolla at a motel (also smart girl). Story
This handsome pup is Biff! He’s an adult low rider that lives to hang with his people! Biff is a designer mix breed pup. We think there’s a splash of Dachshund, a pinch of Hound, dash of Lab, a touch of Pittie, and a sprinkling of Mr Nice Pup.  Biff is excited for life and happy to be here. He’s a true joy to be around.  Biff knows his manners and would appreciate a confident owner willing to continue to help guide him. When first meeting people, Biff can be a little nervous but after a proper introduction, he makes fast friends. He’d love to hang out at breweries, go on hikes, or just enjoys leisurely stroll with his new family. Biff has spent some time with a professional trainer and did very well there! He learned the basics and his trainer will be happy to review everything Biff learned with his new family.
Biff would be a great addition to a home that already has a calm and confident dog.  He’s great with kids and currently had 2 legged family members that are between the ages of 8 & 21. If you'd like to make this handsome pup part of your family, please let us know here: dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form. We'll forward the app to his foster who will reach out to answer any questions, share pictures, and talk all things Biff. ================================================= If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at http://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES IN RHODE ISLAND AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED.
