Story
My name is Sweet Pea and I am truly a sweet little pea!  My story began about 5-6 years ago when I came to live with a family who had way too many dogs.  They could not afford to spay and neuter and so a lot of us had puppies over and over.  Now I am with Critter Cavalry Rescue  and they promised me a better family life ahead.  I am a Dachshund/Terrier mix and I weigh 22 lbs and could probably walk a few pounds off this Spring and Summer with an active and fun person that would adopt me.  I was terrified beyond words when I first moved from my overcrowded home to this nice new foster house.  But soon I have realized I am safe and well fed and that these people are very stable and will get me to the vet when I need to go.  I am housebroken, ride just fine in a car and I am going to love to sit on your lap and make you feel loved and cherished by ME!  I do not like to walk on a leash.  I can learn if you are patient to teach me but I think I initially need to go to a home with a fenced yard and then learn how to walk nicely there in the backyard.  It is not biggie but right now it kind of isn’t a fav thing to do.  Other than the leash, I am pretty perfect!  I am healthy and I love to give kisses and adoring looks to my fav humans.  If you want to invite me to come live with you please email ccrnewengland@gmail.com   I am ready to pack my bags! PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.May 4, 2024, 9:54 pm

Story
My name is Darla and I am a very deep thinking, calm, sweet, lap dog that is looking for the perfect laidback home.  I am a Dachshund/Terrier mix that is only 20 pounds and guessed to be 6 years old.  I have lived with a lot of dogs in a home that was not able to care for us properly.  We were fortunately surrendered to Critter Cavalry Rescue so that we could all find better and more stable families to love us.  I am a tad shy when I first meet new people but I sure do blossom and get more perky when I feel safe with you.  I am pretty good on a leash and I am housebroken and crate trained.  My foster mom says I have the sweetest face and eyes that look in to your soul.  Well you know what?  I am searching for the right soul to make me their own and them to be MINE too!  I am the perfect size for so many lifestyles.  I don’t bark and I ride perfectly fine in a car.  Let’s go places this Summer!  I am ready are you!?  Send an email asking about me to ccrnewengland@gmail.com  Let’s be “family” real soon. Story
This little pretty chocolate dappled girl is called Mazie and goodness what a cracker jack she is.  Don’t for minute let those green eyes and chocolate marbled coat fool you to think she is gentle or easy.  She is the CEO of dogs and will run the show at your house if given the chance.  Mazie is 20 pounds and 9 months old.  She is a breed mix of Dachshund and Basset Hound we are told.  Her pics make her look big but she is a “tiny but mighty” little girl.  Mazie is not a fan of any other female dogs in her life or around her.  We don’t know where that came from but the dislike is there so we say…don’t ignore the warning.  She is great with big male dogs, not good with other small dogs or cats, but loves people deeply and wants to be around them.  She needs a fenced yard because she is a runner as most Dachshunds can be and she needs to be able to run and play and get her energy out daily.  Older children would be better for her and she is crate trained, 90% housebroken and she adores going for walks; a very good girl on a leash we can say.  She is beautiful but a “tad” bit complicated, which is why we have outlined the Likes and Dislikes of this girl to a TEE!  We want the right and perfect home and there are lots out there that can give her that.  Tiny but Mighty little Mazie is ready for a home NOW!  Please email us at Critter Cavalry Rescue : ccrnewengland@gmail.com  Tell us where you live when you email asking for information and an application. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.May 4, 2024, 9:54 pm

Story
Name: Luna Breed: Dachshund/Labrador Mix Age: 5 years old Background: Luna joined our shelter family in early April after being surrendered due to not getting along with young children. While she may have had a rough start, Luna is ready to turn the page and find a forever home where she can thrive. She's an affectionate companion with a heart full of love to give, but she needs a patient and understanding family who can help her overcome her fears. Personality: Luna is a sweet and gentle soul who longs for a calm and quiet environment where she can feel safe and secure. She may be wary of strangers at first, and her initial reaction might be to growl, but with time and patience, she'll come to trust you completely (especially with treats!) Once she bonds with you, Luna will be your most loyal and devoted friend, showering you with love and affection every day. Ideal Home: Due to her apprehensive nature around people, Luna is not suitable for homes with small children. She thrives on routine and would do best in a calm household where she can feel relaxed and at ease. Luna is house trained and possibly crate trained, and she knows commands like "sit." She takes treats gently and is a quick learner, making her a low-maintenance yet highly rewarding companion. An understanding family who can provide her with the time and space she needs to adjust will be rewarded with a loyal and affectionate companion for life. While she hasn't been tested with other dogs or cats, a meet and greet can be arranged to assess compatibility. Final Thoughts: If you're looking for a sweet low-rider to welcome into your home, Luna might be the perfect match for you. With patience, love, and understanding, she'll blossom into the devoted family member she's meant to be. Come meet Luna today and see if you're the one she's been waiting for!
