Story
She was surrendered to me to foster after being dumped by a backyard breeder. She is a sweet dog, but we have too many already and she deserves someone who will cherish her. I was told that she was raised in a 10x10 outside which ususally comes with potty training issues. She still poops inside but I have her trained to use a pee pad. She is skittish and un-trusting at first. Took her 2 weeks here just to let you pick her up. Whomever adopts her needs to allow time and space for her to adjust and be careful that she doesn't escape during that adjustment period. The hardest part, is she has trauma related to a crate, so that cannot be used. She roams freely in my house, sleeps in the bed and cuddles with everyone. She would thrive as an only pet, or with other dogs. She is afraid of cats. Food motivated. I am getting her spayed and fully vetted this week, and willing to travel most of Texas for the right person.

Story
Meet Max, the most congenial dog in the shelter. He loves everyone and everyone loves him. He is a brilliant and bilingual buddy with a zest for life! He knows the sit, paw, come and down commands in English and Spanish. Max is house trained and leash-trained, making walks a breeze. His curious and energetic nature ensures adventures are always exciting. His favorite activity is going on a car ride. Despite his size (55 pounds), he considers himself the perfect lap dog, ready for cuddles and affection. Max`s playful and sweet demeanor makes him a delightful companion. He`s also quite vocal, always ready to `chat` and express his feelings. He is amazingly friendly and playful with dogs, cats, and children. He was originally given up because of landlord issues then adopted and returned because he was too active. Max would make a wonderful addition to any family looking for a loving and lively friend. Story
**This dog is with Corridor Rescue in Houston, Texas** Meet Twizzler! 🐾 If you're looking for a calm and sweet dog to add to your life, look no further than Twizzler! Twizzler arrived in our care with two other dogs who were also named after candy, and with her sweet, gentle personality, it's easy to see why. Twizzler is a smaller dog with a long body and adorable short legs to match. When she first arrived in our care, she was shy around new people, but she has been gaining confidence every day. As soon as you walk up to her kennel, she eagerly wags her tail, excited to go for a walk with you or relax by your side sunbathing. Twizzler also loves bringing her toys outside with her, especially her favorite stuffed animals. Twizzler was rescued with an elbow injury that could not heal on its own, and required amputation. Today, she is healing wonderfully as she adjusts to a comfortable life on 3 legs! Twizzler may be shy at first, but with love and patience, she'll become your most loyal companion. Are you the one to show her what life is all about? *** Please apply to foster or adopt online at www.corridorrescue.org Direct inquiries to: adopt@corridorrescue.org The adoption fee of $225 covers spay/neuter, microchip and current vaccines. Transport is available and can be discussed on an individual basis. Thank you for considering a rescued former street dog for your next family member!

Story
Meet Morse — Life Is Better When You’re Just Hanging Out! Breed:  Dachshund/Terrier MixGender: MaleAge:  4 yearsSize: 31.9 lbsGood with: Everyone Morse is an awesome Dachshund/Terrier mix who has mastered the art of enjoying the simple things in life. His philosophy seems to be pretty straightforward: hang out, enjoy your people, soak up the good stuff, and take the day as it comes.  Morse has a wonderfully calm, chill demeanor. He isn’t looking to be the center of attention or constantly on the go. He’s just happy to be part of the action and spend time with his people. Whether he’s relaxing nearby, enjoying some attention, or simply taking in whatever the day brings, Morse is content. He has an easygoing personality that makes him the kind of dog who is just really nice to have around.  There’s something special about a dog who doesn’t need much to be happy. Morse enjoys life for exactly what it is — and he’d love to find a forever family who will enjoy it right alongside him. If your idea of the perfect companion is a sweet, relaxed, easygoing dog who is always up for hanging out, Morse might be your guy.   Morse is ready to find his forever home and continue doing what he does best — enjoying life, one chill day at a time. Story
Breed:  Dachshund/Chihuahua Mix?Gender:  FemaleAge: 2 years; Born Aug 2024Size: 15 lbsGood with:  Dogs and likes playtime along her "Sister" Meet Mystery a sweet little Chihuahua mix with a gentle soul and a quiet way about her. Mystery wasn’t surrendered at the same time as her “sister,” Caribbean Queen, but when they were finally reunited, it was clear that their bond was still there. Having Caribbean by her side gives Mystery a little extra confidence and helps her feel safe. Mystery is quiet, shy, and definitely a slow warm-up kind of girl. She doesn’t rush into new situations or immediately seek attention. Instead, she likes to take her time, settle in, and observe her surroundings. Give her a little patience, some peaceful quiet time, and a few gentle head pets, and you’ll start to see her curiosity emerge. Before long, Mystery is ready to venture out and explore at her own pace. Her sister is her comfort and her confidence. Together, they remind us that sometimes the greatest gift you can give a shy dog is simply time, patience, and a safe place to be herself. Mystery may not be the first girl to run up and greet you—but give her a chance, and you may just discover a little treasure hiding beneath that shy exterior. Sweet Mystery is waiting for someone who will let her take life one gentle step at a time.
