Story
"ADOPTION FEE SPONSORED" Bubbles and Sudds are a deeply bonded duo who have spent most of their lives together. They came into our care after their owner lost her job where she worked from home throughout her entire career. Her new job required her to be away for 10 to 12 hours each day. Out of love, she decided it would be best for them to go to a new home where someone is present most of the day. Both are sweet-natured, enjoys running and playing, and occasionally they get the Zoomies and scamper around the fenced-in yard. This dynamic duo gets along wonderfully with other dogs and cats. They are calm, quiet, and laid-back in the house, and both are fully house-trained. Bubbles and Sudds are good eaters, well-behaved, and offer affectionate companionship to each other as well as to family members. Health-wise, both are in excellent condition, with bloodwork results within normal limits, rabies and distemper vaccinations up-to-date, and they recently underwent dental cleanings. These two lovable souls would make a fantastic addition to any family, bringing joy and companionship for many years to come.

Story
Meet Daffodil — a little flower who’s finally learning to bloom. Daffodil is a 3–4-year-old, 17-pound pup with a heart as gentle as her name. She came from a hoarding situation and has spent the last several months discovering what it means to feel safe and loved. Her journey hasn’t been easy, but it’s been remarkable to watch her grow. Daffodil is very dog-friendly and absolutely needs at least one other dog in her home — they’re her comfort, her confidence, and her teachers. A securely fenced yard is also a must, as Daffodil doesn’t yet know how to walk on a leash and finds joy in running full speed through the grass, getting the zoomies, and playing with toys. She’s not fully house trained, but she does well using puppy pads when she can’t make it outside. Daffodil has also shown potential to live peacefully with cats. Because of her past, Daffodil is wary of new people and situations. She needs a calm, patient home without a lot of noise or chaos. The first few weeks (or even months) will take understanding and consistency — but when she decides you’re one of her people, you’ll know it. She becomes affectionate, playful, and loves nothing more than burrowing under the blanket for a snuggle or inviting you to play her favorite games. Daffodil isn’t an “easy” dog — she’s a special one. She’s looking for a home that will meet her where she is and help her continue to blossom into the joyful, trusting little dog she’s meant to be.

Poor Fred found himself being surrendered at a shelter after his lifelong owner passed away and family decided they could no longer keep him. Fred is reportedly housebroken and would do best in a home without small children; he is pretty overweight and has some sore spots as a result. Fred is a sweet and just wants a quiet home and a person to stick to like glue! Fred needs a quiet house ideally without a lot of stairs. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Herbie was an owner surrender with some bad skin issues. Herbie went to the vet and got an antibiotic and a prednisone taper and some special shampoo. His skin already looks so much better, and he isn't scratching and crying constantly. His skin is priority one, but then we have another BIG thing to deal with-the lump he has is an inguinal hernia, so he has to have that prepared when he's neutered. And he will probably get a dental when he's under even though his dachshund teeth aren't terrible. Herbie is 8 years old, about 16 pounds, and is a sweet boy. He loves to wander around outside and sleep under the covers. He would like to let everyone know that "Herbie doesn't share food!" Herbie needs a private space for his dinner. Herbie is also housebroken! Herbie is being fostered in Charlottesville, VA, but would LOVE to get to a quieter place than Casa Urban. It's a lot for a sick middle-aged man to deal with. If you'd be able to give Herbie a place to crash while we get him fixed up, or if you'd like to foster to adopt Herbie while we get all his vetting done, please let us know! Herbie's adoption fee will be $300 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 16, 2025, 5:02 pm
