She's sensitive and a little timid at first, but she absolutely loves being with people and other animals. And the more we've gotten to know her, the more we've realized: Doris is a nurturer. ❤️ She's house trained and absolutely wonderful with dogs, cats, and even tiny kittens. She doesn't just peacefully coexist with other animals—she seems to genuinely care for them. And she does the same thing with people. If you're feeling sad, Doris notices. She'll quietly come over, give you a gentle little boop, and rest her head on you. That's Doris. She doesn't demand attention. She just quietly gives love. Doris is also incredibly calm. She has this peaceful, easygoing presence that makes her wonderful to have around. We could especially see her being the perfect companion for a senior or someone with a quieter home who wants a dog to share their days with. Don't mistake calm for frail, though. Doris is still spry and has plenty of life in her. She enjoys her walks, rides beautifully in the car, and is happy to head out with you. She just doesn't need every day to be an adventure. She doesn't need endless hikes, constant entertainment, or a packed social calendar. She just wants to love you. Give her a comfy place to sleep, some peaceful walks, kind people, maybe some animal siblings to nurture, and a spot close enough to you that she can keep an eye on everyone she loves. Doris is the kind of dog whose presence makes a home feel softer. At seven years old, she still has so many good years ahead of her.
