Story
Adoption fee: $300 Physical appearance: Kali is a 6-year-old, black and tan, female Doberman with natural ears and a docked tail. She is a big girl at 90 pounds. Kali was born with one eye that is smaller than the other, a condition called uveitis that has caused blindness in that eye, and she will require daily eye medication to keep her comfortable. Personality, Manners, and Training: Kali was previously adopted from GDR but was returned due to changing family circumstances. This girl is an A-class snuggler and LOVES her people. She is a wonderful family dog who does great with kids. Kali has energy and will run and play as much as you let her so she needs a real outlet for her energy. She loves playing with tennis balls and other toys. Sometimes she will bark and whine to protest not getting her way, so she won't be good for an apartment, townhome, or condo. She needs someone who won't give into her every protest or just let her do whatever she wants. She knows how to sit and wait patiently for her dinner until you tell her to eat, and she is crate trained, but she will try to convince you that she isn't. Her leash training could use some work. She gets along with other dogs, but needs a slow and careful introduction. She also gets along with cats and even rabbits.  Vetting: All our dogs are brought up to date on Rabies, Bordetella, and combo, negative for intestinal parasites and heartworms, spayed, and microchipped before adoption. ##127561##

Story
Adoption fee: $300 DISCLSIMER: Sam is a true working Doberman. He has natural protection instincts that the average family cannot handle. He will only be adopted to a home that intends to seriously train and work him, and will absolutely not be homed with any children under the age of 15. Physical appearance: Sam is an all-natural, black and tan, male Doberman that is about 4 years old. He is average size for a male Doberman with a weight of 71lbs. Personality: Sam is a wonderful dog with a sweet and playful personality with his family.  He is BFFs with his foster sister and they hang out together and play all the time. While his natural ears and tail make him absolutely adorable looking, he is also an intense watch dog and protector. He is very protective of his foster mom which has led to an incident where he nipped a guest.  He is not a dog you can expect to be social. if you have people in and out of your house all the time, he is not the dog for you. He is a true Doberman and is not what you commonly find in a rescue dog.  He is fearless, intense, and alert but he is not aggressive.  He needs an experienced owner that knows how to train and lead him and will not leave him to his own devices. He does well with both men and women once he gets to know them, but initially is extra wary of men. he needs a proper introduction and for his owner to show him that they are okay. He will not be adopted to a home with any male dogs, but females are fine. He will also not be adopted to a home with small children. We will require all kids to be over 15 years old. Why he’s in rescue: Sam has an unusual rescue story. A friend of the rescue was working in Qatar where Dobermans are illegal.  Despite them being illegal, many of the wealthier residents import them anyways. They usually import them from Serbia and get them based on the idea of a Doberman, leaving them as decorations or using them as guard dogs as opposed to pets.  Sam's owner no longer wanted him and he was abandoned at a kennel. Our friend contacted us asking if we would take him if she brought him back with her. If we didn't, he'd likely be euthanized or abandoned in the desert unfortunately common for unwanted dogs). We couldn't say no. Manners and training: Sam is crate trained, potty trained, and does pretty well on a leash.  He is a fast learner and would excel at any sort of training or sport you wanted to do with him, especially obedience or schutzhund/bite work.  If you've wanted a dog you can do sports with, this is the dog for you. He is not suitable as a couch potato, and we will require his adopter to be registered for training classes before he can be adopted. He is currently working with a trainer in Lawrenceville that specializes in working dogs and absolutely adores him. We have had an evaluation done by her that we are happy to share with prospective adopters. if possible, we would love to see him continue his training with her.  Vetting: All our dogs are brought up to date on rabies, Bordetella, and combo, negative for intestinal parasites and heartworms, neutered and microchipped before adoption.   ##1810600##

Story
Meet Nina: Your New Best Friend with a Touch of Goofiness!Adoption fee: $300 Hey there, I'm Nina! I'm a 6-year-old female Doberman with fabulously floppy cropped ears and a docked tail. I'm a long, tall girl, weighing in at around 80 lbs. I had dropped to 67 lbs due to some surgeries, but I'm well on my way to getting my muscle and healthy weight back! A Little About Me: Personality:I'm a loving, curious, and goofy Doberman with a knack for making everyone laugh. I might get a bit clingy and "velcro" myself to one special person in the house, but trust me, I'm sweet to everyone. I can be a bit timid at first and need a moment to warm up to new folks, but once I do, my playful side shines. My energy level is moderate for a Doberman, making me a perfect balance of fun and chill. I adore the kids in my foster home (they're 8 and 6), but since I have a habit of stealing and chewing on socks, it's best if my future family has older kids who can keep their things out of my reach. My Story:I came to rescue as an owner surrender because of those darn expensive medical bills. I had to have two obstruction surgeries from ingesting clothing, and my family couldn't afford it anymore. Luckily, the vet reached out to Georgia Doberman Rescue, and here I am, ready for my new forever home! Manners and Training:I've got some pretty good manners, if I do say so myself. I'm crate trained and potty trained, and I'm very food-driven, which means training me is a breeze with the right treats. I'm great in the car and love to curl up and nap during rides. My leash training is coming along; I do pull a bit and might "buck up" if I don't want to go a certain direction, so my fosters have been using a harness, which works well for me. I know some basic commands like "sit," and I'm always eager to learn more. Health and Vetting:I'm in tip-top shape! I'm up-to-date on all my vaccines (rabies, Bordetella, and combo), free of intestinal parasites and heartworms, spayed, and microchipped. I'm all set and ready to be your new best friend! Why You'll Love Me:If you're looking for a loving, goofy, and sometimes silly companion who will bring endless joy and laughter to your life, I'm your girl. Let's make each other's lives happier—apply to adopt me today! Can't wait to meet you! Love,Nina ##1850530##

Story
Physical appearance:  Juno is a 2-year-old female Doberman with cropped ears and a docked tail.  She is average size for a female weighing about 60lbs. Personality:  Juno is a sweet girl. She has a bit of a stubborn streak, but will do just about anything to be pet and cuddled and given all the attention. She absolutely LOVES to chase her ball. She’s not the best at dropping it, but if you have 2 balls, she will drop the one in her mouth for you to throw the other one. She’s great with people but not good with dogs or cats. She has a strong prey drive and will fixate on cats and chase them. Dogs she will also fixate on and get defensive if they get in her personal space, so she needs to be an only pet. We are not sure how she is with little kids, but because she can wants to grab your fingers while grabbing treats, small kids are not a good idea. Why she's in rescue:  Juno was found as a stray and picked up by animal control. Her family never came to claim her so she was transferred to rescue to find her new forever home. Manners and Training: She knows how to sit and will walk okay on a leash with a light correction. She’s eager to please, but is over eager with her treats so you have to be careful giving them to her or she’ll take your fingers with it. Juno is potty trained and crate trained and goes right into her crate with the world “kennel”. Vetting: All our dogs are brought up to date on rabies, Bordetella, and combo, negative for intestinal parasites and heartworms, spayed and microchipped before adoption.   ##2034590##

Story
Physical appearance:  Zeus is a 3-year-old male Doberman with cropped ears and a docked tail.  He is on the larger side for a male weighing about 110lbs. Personality:  Zeus is a big, sweet goofball. You’re his best friend as soon as he meets you and he’ll start leaning on you right away. He is very much an inside dog and prefers the AC to the outdoors, but if you’re with him, or if there’s a small critter to chase, he’ll enjoy some outside time. He’ll keep your yard free of squirrels and while he won’t jump a fence, if you’re not careful, he could dig out so he needs to be supervised in his time outside. He’s good with female dogs, but absolutely no males. He’s good with older kids but too rough for smaller kids and will accidentally knock them over. No cats or small animals like rabbits either since his prey drive is so high. When he was a puppy he didn’t have a great experience with a swimming pool, so now if he sees someone get in the pool, he’ll bark for them to get out to safety. Why he’s in rescue:  Unfortunately, Zeus has shown both same sex aggression and littermate syndrome towards his brother. The two have to be completely separated or they’ll fight constantly. Zeus’ family realized that while they could manage keeping them separate, it wasn’t fair to either boy to live their lives that way. Zeus will not be rehired with any male dogs under any circumstances. Manners and Training: Zeus knows how to sit, wait and stay. He is trained to walk on a head halter, but will pull a bit on a collar. He’s also crate trained and will hang out In his crate quietly unless he has to go out to potty. He’s a fast learner and will do well in a home that likes to train. He has excellent house manners and is potty trained, does not beg, and does not counter surf. Vetting: All our dogs are brought up to date on rabies, Bordetella, and combo, negative for intestinal parasites and heartworms, neutered and microchipped before adoption.  ##2040343##

Story
Physical appearance:  Donna is a black and tan female Doberman with natural ears and a docked tail.  She’s 11 months old but is mostly full grown at 60lbs. While she won’t grow any taller, she will likely continue to fill out over the next year or two. Personality:  Donna is all puppy. Puppy energy, puppy brain, puppy habits. SHe’s a sweetheart that lives attention, but she still needs work on her manners and to be watched to make sure she does not get into anything. She plays well with her mom in her foster home and the previous owner said she did well around cats and kids. She may try to play with the cats though, so if your cats don’t like to be chased, she’s probably not a good fit. She could also knock over small children with her bouncy puppy energy, so kids that are a bit bigger and more stable on their feet (7+) would be better. Why she's in rescue:  Donna was surrendered along with her mother Bella by a Good Samaritan that rescued them from a breeder.  Donna came into rescue with pretty severe demodex (mange), and a belly full of worms. She was in rough shape but has healed up and blossomed into a happy, healthy girl. Manners and Training: We will require that whoever adopts Donna enrolls her into training classes to set her up for success in her home. The first 6 months of her life she did not get the structure and guidance she should have so training classes will both teach her some better manners and allow her family to bond with her. She does well in the car, is crate and potty trained, but generally needs work on all commands and manners. She will definitely need to be crated when you’r not home. Vetting: All our dogs are brought up to date on rabies, Bordetella, and combo, negative for intestinal parasites and heartworms, spayed and microchipped before adoption. ##2041978##
