Adoption fee: $300 DISCLSIMER: Sam is a true working Doberman. He has natural protection instincts that the average family cannot handle. He will only be adopted to a home that intends to seriously train and work him, and will absolutely not be homed with any children under the age of 15. Physical appearance: Sam is an all-natural, black and tan, male Doberman that is about 4 years old. He is average size for a male Doberman with a weight of 71lbs. Personality: Sam is a wonderful dog with a sweet and playful personality with his family. He is BFFs with his foster sister and they hang out together and play all the time. While his natural ears and tail make him absolutely adorable looking, he is also an intense watch dog and protector. He is very protective of his foster mom which has led to an incident where he nipped a guest. He is not a dog you can expect to be social. if you have people in and out of your house all the time, he is not the dog for you. He is a true Doberman and is not what you commonly find in a rescue dog. He is fearless, intense, and alert but he is not aggressive. He needs an experienced owner that knows how to train and lead him and will not leave him to his own devices. He does well with both men and women once he gets to know them, but initially is extra wary of men. he needs a proper introduction and for his owner to show him that they are okay. He will not be adopted to a home with any male dogs, but females are fine. He will also not be adopted to a home with small children. We will require all kids to be over 15 years old. Why he’s in rescue: Sam has an unusual rescue story. A friend of the rescue was working in Qatar where Dobermans are illegal. Despite them being illegal, many of the wealthier residents import them anyways. They usually import them from Serbia and get them based on the idea of a Doberman, leaving them as decorations or using them as guard dogs as opposed to pets. Sam's owner no longer wanted him and he was abandoned at a kennel. Our friend contacted us asking if we would take him if she brought him back with her. If we didn't, he'd likely be euthanized or abandoned in the desert unfortunately common for unwanted dogs). We couldn't say no. Manners and training: Sam is crate trained, potty trained, and does pretty well on a leash. He is a fast learner and would excel at any sort of training or sport you wanted to do with him, especially obedience or schutzhund/bite work. If you've wanted a dog you can do sports with, this is the dog for you. He is not suitable as a couch potato, and we will require his adopter to be registered for training classes before he can be adopted. He is currently working with a trainer in Lawrenceville that specializes in working dogs and absolutely adores him. We have had an evaluation done by her that we are happy to share with prospective adopters. if possible, we would love to see him continue his training with her. Vetting: All our dogs are brought up to date on rabies, Bordetella, and combo, negative for intestinal parasites and heartworms, neutered and microchipped before adoption. ##1810600##

Physical appearance: Zeus is a 3-year-old male Doberman with cropped ears and a docked tail. He is on the larger side for a male weighing about 110lbs. Personality: Zeus is a big, sweet goofball. You’re his best friend as soon as he meets you and he’ll start leaning on you right away. He is very much an inside dog and prefers the AC to the outdoors, but if you’re with him, or if there’s a small critter to chase, he’ll enjoy some outside time. He’ll keep your yard free of squirrels and while he won’t jump a fence, if you’re not careful, he could dig out so he needs to be supervised in his time outside. He’s good with female dogs, but absolutely no males. He’s good with older kids but too rough for smaller kids and will accidentally knock them over. No cats or small animals like rabbits either since his prey drive is so high. When he was a puppy he didn’t have a great experience with a swimming pool, so now if he sees someone get in the pool, he’ll bark for them to get out to safety. Why he’s in rescue: Unfortunately, Zeus has shown both same sex aggression and littermate syndrome towards his brother. The two have to be completely separated or they’ll fight constantly. Zeus’ family realized that while they could manage keeping them separate, it wasn’t fair to either boy to live their lives that way. Zeus will not be rehired with any male dogs under any circumstances. Manners and Training: Zeus knows how to sit, wait and stay. He is trained to walk on a head halter, but will pull a bit on a collar. He’s also crate trained and will hang out In his crate quietly unless he has to go out to potty. He’s a fast learner and will do well in a home that likes to train. He has excellent house manners and is potty trained, does not beg, and does not counter surf. I'm spayed, fully vetted, and ready for my next chapter — but I'll be honest, I come with a little complexity, and I need someone experienced enough to appreciate that. Personality: I am what you might call a particular girl. I like my routine, I like my space respected, and I like things done right. I've been described as "prissy" — and honestly? Fair. I prefer a clean bed, I don't like messes, and I have a very specific sense of how my world should be ordered. I'm not the dog who's going to run up and love-bomb strangers. I'm the dog who earns your trust slowly, and once you have mine, you have it. I do well on leash, I love hanging out in the yard, and I've genuinely settled into a calm, happy routine in my current home. I just need the right place to keep that going. My Story: I came from a breeder and lived with my previous family for years before a big move disrupted my world. I don't handle change well — most anxious dogs don't — and the stress of the move led to a snapping incident that my owner felt she couldn't responsibly manage anymore. She made a hard call because she loves me, not because I'm a bad dog. I'm not a bad dog. I'm a Doberman with anxiety who hit a wall during one of the hardest transitions a dog can face. With the right structure and a stable environment, I do really well. Manners & Training: I've been trained with an e-collar and a prong collar, both used thoughtfully — light corrections to get my attention, not punishment. I know how to listen when I trust my handler. I've also been trained to retreat to the bedroom when I'm feeling overwhelmed, and I actually use that skill. That's huge. I know my own limits, and I know how to deescalate — I just need a human who reinforces that structure. I wear a muzzle due to a past nipping incident, and I've learned to accept it. I'm also crate trained and love my crate covered with a blanket — it's my cave and I love it. People & The Door: I am protective, and I will tell you about it. If someone comes to the door, I'm going to bark and rush — that's just me. What I won't do is be politely managed by a stranger walking up and petting me uninvited. My owner crates me or puts me in the bedroom when new people visit, and that's the protocol that works. Do not let people approach me without a proper, controlled introduction. I have snapped before, and my new family needs to take that seriously and manage accordingly. Other Animals: I'm dog selective — I don't start fights, but I don't love dogs that get in my face. No full-on dog fights in my history, but I need slow, controlled intros and a compatible match. I completely ignore dogs that mind their own business. I've always lived around cats and I'm genuinely good with them — I even bonded with a kitten once. The key is slow introductions for indoor cats. Outdoor/stray cats in my yard? I will chase them. No outdoor cats, please. Kids & Home Life: I do best with older kids — 13 and up, and only kids who are calm and respectful. No roughhousing around me, no climbing on me, no chaotic energy. I need a quieter home. Small animals are not safe around me — I have a strong prey drive and I will hunt them.
